Reserved uhaul and storage got to place got uhaul truck then was told only had smaller storage then had to rent 2 more units to fit my belongings I could have been told when reserving I spent rediculous amount of money I could not afford wish I was told ahead of time and had to swear out and clean storage before I could put my stuff in itTamara N.
The staff person was helpful but could be a little more outgoing in the customer service sense. But, he was still helpful and was not rude or anything. The store was clean and the parking lot looked nice, better than the other UHAUL location in town, which looks a little run down. The exterior and interior windows were filthy and marked up with wat looked finger prints or something and hard to see out of when the sun hit it...I was nosy the ashtray was dirty didn't know you could smoke in rentalsPeggy H.
Truck was not available when we asked for it. It was requested at 7 am in grand forks, ND then it was pushed back to 9 at Fargo, ND which is an hour away. When we got to Fargo it was pushed back to 1:30pm. We had movers just sitting and waiting for the truck for hours that we had to pay them for. I'm super disgusted about this. This move cost me a tremendous amount of money because uhaul couldn't get me the equipment I needed, when I needed it. If I had known that it would be in Fargo at 1:30, I would have hired my movers for 3:00 pm instead of 7 am. The truck wasn't in the greatest shape. It was a very rough ride and I got out to check if there was a flat tire several times in the one hour trip.carlyss N.

I reserved at different location and was notified a day before that I would need to pick at this location. This added an additional 16 miles to my rental plus fuel to a truck that burned 7 gallons of fuel for roughly 25 miles. The staff was very pleasant but rather unhelpful when I expressed dissatisfaction with the truck. The trucks brakes did not work well. They would not engage when first applied and then grab very aggressively. The air conditioning stopped working 1/2 hour after pick up. As I said, staff was very pleasant but were dismissive when I mentioned mechanical issues.TIM S.

I was not happy that I was given a pickup location within a mile of where I live on east side of Moorhead and then I got a text one hour before my pickup time and had to drive 9 miles to another location through rush hour traffic on interstate to pick up truck. Then had to drive back the 9 miles in the truck during the same rush hour traffic. Why even have pick up locations in Moorhead when don't have the trucks available??Lori P.

WOW. I wish I would've looked at the reviews of this location before going here. I deeply deeply regret it. I'll just write the email I sent to their corporate office below: Hi there, I've called and been on the phone with what seems like a thousand people from corporate and no one can seem to give me an answer. Every response is â€œI'm not in charge of refundsâ€ but I'm not directed to who is. I had a hitch installed at the end of April, and then scheduled a trailer to use on May 20th. Both of these were at your 13th St location in Fargo, North Dakota. I'm in the process of moving from Fargo, North Dakota to Schenectady, NY. The trailer was scheduled for noon on Friday, May 20th. We showed up to get it hooked up to my hitch, but there was an issue with the brake lights and blinkers on the trailer. It wasn't a problem and my boyfriend and I waited for what we were told would be â€œa few minutesâ€ for their hitch guy to show up. We waited a half hour, so I had my boyfriend ask if we could try a different trailer to see if it was possibly the trailer and not my car. It didn't work on the other trailer either. After that we asked how long it'd be until he showed and we got a whole story about how he has to take Ubers everywhere? (Not very professional to show up late, but also to tell customers that your ONE guy who is supposedly knowledgeable on hitches shows up late regularly because of whatever reasons? Definitely poor customer service.) We ended up leaving and told them to call me when he got in, which wasn't until 2:15. My mom took my car in to figure out what was going on, and I didn't get my car back until 6am on Saturday, May 21st. (This is on May 20th) After we finally got the Uhaul at 5, we were told the issue was fixed and the wiring was working with the lights. When we pulled up to my apartment with the Uhaul, surprise - blinkers worked, the brakes didn't. So my mom took the uhaul back to your 13th St location, where they had my car until 6 am the following day (we wanted to leave by then to get to NY in time). So we had to hook up the Uhaul and test everything out ourselves, because again, your installer doesn't know what he's doing. While we did just take the uhaul and load it up without a car there, we didn't get the uhaul until 5 on Friday. 5 hours after the originally scheduled and confirmed time. Turns out it was an issue with how the guy installed the hitch, which they tried telling me wasn't at that same location (it was). And the same guy had to work to try to fix what he did wrong. On top of all of this, when I tried calling them to get an estimated time on Friday of when my car would be ready, the guy on the phone (Jordan) refused to give me answers and when I asked if he could ask the guy who was working on my car, he interrupted my question and threw me on hold. Remember how my mom stayed at your uhaul location all day? Yeah, so she heard Jordan say â€œfuck you, fuck youâ€ twice when he slammed the phone down from talking to me. My mom let him know that if he wanted to say â€œfuck youâ€ to someone, to make sure it's not someone's daughter who is right in front of him. He walked out and didn't say anything to my mom, no apology NOTHING. I had my mom take a picture of him, because this is completely ridiculous. YOU guys messed up, because your installer is clearly incapable of doing his job. YOUR employees who are supposed to treat customers with respect treated us like complete garbage. Because of all of these issues, I want a full refund. This experience has been nothing but terrible. I'm so incredibly disappointed that a company runs this way and treats people the way I was treated. While I can understand things happen, ALL of this was avoidable had your team been competent.Kayley K.

In my city I usually go to the location on 52nd Ave and veterans. This time around I had to use the 13th Ave location because they were the only ones with the trailer in stock. I arrived and immediately upon arrival I was greeted by cars flying all around the parking lot, a completely backed up return line and employees no where to be found. I eventually after a long wait got my trailer that I reserved a day before, and it had the most of lights not working, the employee just told me to go ahead and I went a long, after multiple glitches in the trailer lights ( that' on my pick up I knew worked because I got a trailer the week before with no problems) also the trailer was not secured in the truck why so ever. I decided to say I'll fix it myself and move on no harm no foul. The next day I was running about 15 minutes behind schedule, so I wanted to call way ahead of time to let them know. I WAITED ON A PHONE LINE FOR OVER AN HOUR JUST TO SPEAK TO A GERY RUDE/ AGGRESSIVE WOMEN WHO TRIED TO ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT MY RETURN TIME THAT I HAD A CONTRACT FOR. after I arrived I had 2 men scoff at my wife as I pulled into the return lane. I asked him if everything was alright and he replied â€œlast name pleaseâ€ with a blank face and slammed the trailer onto the ground. I work construction I deal with attitudes, heavy objects and way more then these people could even comprehend and still treat people around me with respect. The 13th Ave u haul in Fargo ND overall I would rate a 1/10 and would not go back ever again. The disrespect, the un-maintained equipment, and the employees have made me completely turn my head toward the company as a whole and I won't be back. As a 4-5 year frequent customer at the other location. I was even told as I did my return if I have complaints â€œtalk to corporate, I've got nothing for youâ€Austin B.

I was told the fuel was slightly below 1/4 tank, but after leaving the center got a notice that there were 50 miles until empty. Was told that if I filled to a 1/4 tank, I'd be credited $22, yet after putting in $25 worth of gas, was still marked only at 1/8 tank. I had 24 hr access until the very day I opened my 2nd storage unit and they cut everyone off at 10p. It was difficult maintaining everything until I regained my 24 access again. My online account access closed and I lost ability to control my online payments. At that point I found an apartment and started the renting process again and terminated my storage services. It was a very clean facility and convenient especially in the winter months. I will utilize Uhaul storage in the future when necessary. It was a challenge when there were a few late payments and I was locked out from my unit. When they opened it it was not just them removing the additional locks from the unit but they needed to restore the passcodes. This process held me back from getting into my unit when I had moving help with me. And the after hours couldn’t help with this. The renting process online was seemingly smooth, when I upgraded the size of the unit in store, it seemed my payment wasn’t processed the 1st time, kind of annoying but not a big deal, I rented the unit towards the end of the day, so I didn’t get a chance to come back and put a lock on my unit since they close at 1, so night manager locked it (Which I appreciate the extra care) but, it took them 3 days to remove the lock from my unit for different reasons like incorrect code, no one was available to unlock it, they needed to call a locksmith, they were busy and they just simply forgot… so I didn’t have access to the unit for almost 3 full days and I had to postpone a trip out of town.Eve B. | Online Move In

We received a free month of storage with a rental of a Uhaul. I had emailed them regarding the charge for the next month, since the paperwork stated that they would be using an ACH. They never emailed me back and I received 2 late fees on my account, which caused my storage to also be locked by them. I received a phone call 3 weeks later saying they would remove the fees from my account if I paid them that day. I was furious when I found out that they had tried to charge my mother's credit card, the payment used for the uhaul rental the previous month. We did not agree to have this account charged and I told Shawn, management, that it was not ethical to charge a card without the owner's permission and asked why they waited 3 weeks to call and not reply to the emails. They apologized and then took my payment, but my storage room remained locked for a day and a half with their lock so I was unable to access it. I called and asked why this was and the person who answered said that it was his manager's fault and asked if I made the payment online. When I came in to close my storage I also had to wait over 20 minutes because the same guy left the other employee by himself at closing with a line of customers. This was by far the worst experience I've had with moving moving storage. I will not be doing business with Uhaul in the future.Lindsay F. | Overall Experience
