In my city I usually go to the location on 52nd Ave and veterans. This time around I had to use the 13th Ave location because they were the only ones with the trailer in stock. I arrived and immediately upon arrival I was greeted by cars flying all around the parking lot, a completely backed up return line and employees no where to be found. I eventually after a long wait got my trailer that I reserved a day before, and it had the most of lights not working, the employee just told me to go ahead and I went a long, after multiple glitches in the trailer lights ( that' on my pick up I knew worked because I got a trailer the week before with no problems) also the trailer was not secured in the truck why so ever. I decided to say I'll fix it myself and move on no harm no foul. The next day I was running about 15 minutes behind schedule, so I wanted to call way ahead of time to let them know. I WAITED ON A PHONE LINE FOR OVER AN HOUR JUST TO SPEAK TO A GERY RUDE/ AGGRESSIVE WOMEN WHO TRIED TO ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT MY RETURN TIME THAT I HAD A CONTRACT FOR. after I arrived I had 2 men scoff at my wife as I pulled into the return lane. I asked him if everything was alright and he replied â€œlast name pleaseâ€ with a blank face and slammed the trailer onto the ground. I work construction I deal with attitudes, heavy objects and way more then these people could even comprehend and still treat people around me with respect. The 13th Ave u haul in Fargo ND overall I would rate a 1/10 and would not go back ever again. The disrespect, the un-maintained equipment, and the employees have made me completely turn my head toward the company as a whole and I won't be back. As a 4-5 year frequent customer at the other location. I was even told as I did my return if I have complaints â€œtalk to corporate, I've got nothing for youâ€Austin B.

I was told the fuel was slightly below 1/4 tank, but after leaving the center got a notice that there were 50 miles until empty. Was told that if I filled to a 1/4 tank, I'd be credited $22, yet after putting in $25 worth of gas, was still marked only at 1/8 tank. This was also not the center I requested, which added 10 miles to my cost.Cindy S.

Store was closed at pickup. Employee never showed up for work. We were 45 min late in getting our move started. Truck was never swept out from previous renter Truck stalled while driving. Twice before getting to my home which was less than 5 miles away Truck stalled Monday afternoon when we headed to storage. I returned early. Waiting for mileage reimbursement. I called yesterday to make aware. Held twice. The agent who called me back took 18 min to answer and never did come back on phone. I requested to be contacted at 701 430 1538. I got charged for an extra 5 miles of moving fee, I took a picture of the odometer before leaving the U-Haul lot 104047 was the mileage. When I looked at my bill afterwards the company had the mileage at 104042. So they wrote down the wrong start mileage. But I have proof on my phone as to where it was before starting out. You need to retire this truck. Motor is shot interior smelled body is dinged everywhere. Gasoline????? Literally drove 21 miles. It used $48.00 in gas!!!! No idling, just pure road miles. Gas was $ 3.89 per gallon. This thing used a little over 1/2 gal to go 1 mile. Ridiculous.PAMELA C.

Reserved a trailer to move a dresser. Hooked up trailer and wire harness was broken on trailer. So had to use a motorcycle trailer as they didn't have another one like I reserved. And it didn't have as high of sides on it as the one I reserved. I had to lay my dresser on its side instead of being able to leave it upright and got a scratch on it. Don't they check to make sure things are in working order before letting them be reserved?Trent D.

I set up the reservation online and I have a copy of the reservation amount. My husband went to pick up the trailer and the reservation attendant charged me an additional $8.00 for insurance that I did not agree to but he told my husband that I had check marked it when I made the reservation. This location send a vehicle out for an expected trim of 150 miles with a 1/4 tank of fuel. I filled the tank to 3/4 to ensure I wouldn't be stranded without fuel. i returned the vehicle with 1/2 tank. When I asked for a return or discount on my mileage I was told no. When I asked if I could remove fuel from the tank because they were refusing to reimburse me I was told no. It amounted to $50 worth of fuel that was stolen from me.DAMIAN M.

I had 24 hr access until the very day I opened my 2nd storage unit and they cut everyone off at 10p. It was difficult maintaining everything until I regained my 24 access again. My online account access closed and I lost ability to control my online payments. At that point I found an apartment and started the renting process again and terminated my storage services. It was a very clean facility and convenient especially in the winter months. I will utilize Uhaul storage in the future when necessary. It was a challenge when there were a few late payments and I was locked out from my unit. When they opened it it was not just them removing the additional locks from the unit but they needed to restore the passcodes. This process held me back from getting into my unit when I had moving help with me. And the after hours couldn’t help with this. The renting process online was seemingly smooth, when I upgraded the size of the unit in store, it seemed my payment wasn’t processed the 1st time, kind of annoying but not a big deal, I rented the unit towards the end of the day, so I didn’t get a chance to come back and put a lock on my unit since they close at 1, so night manager locked it (Which I appreciate the extra care) but, it took them 3 days to remove the lock from my unit for different reasons like incorrect code, no one was available to unlock it, they needed to call a locksmith, they were busy and they just simply forgot… so I didn’t have access to the unit for almost 3 full days and I had to postpone a trip out of town.Eve B. | Online Move In

We received a free month of storage with a rental of a Uhaul. I had emailed them regarding the charge for the next month, since the paperwork stated that they would be using an ACH. They never emailed me back and I received 2 late fees on my account, which caused my storage to also be locked by them. I received a phone call 3 weeks later saying they would remove the fees from my account if I paid them that day. I was furious when I found out that they had tried to charge my mother's credit card, the payment used for the uhaul rental the previous month. We did not agree to have this account charged and I told Shawn, management, that it was not ethical to charge a card without the owner's permission and asked why they waited 3 weeks to call and not reply to the emails. They apologized and then took my payment, but my storage room remained locked for a day and a half with their lock so I was unable to access it. I called and asked why this was and the person who answered said that it was his manager's fault and asked if I made the payment online. When I came in to close my storage I also had to wait over 20 minutes because the same guy left the other employee by himself at closing with a line of customers. This was by far the worst experience I've had with moving moving storage. I will not be doing business with Uhaul in the future.Lindsay F. | Overall Experience

From Heather's mom who drove the truck: I first turned the trailer and tow dolly into Dahl's Mini Storage. The owner had to catch a flight for a family emergency so his area manager, Scott, took over. The men I'd hired to unload the truck locked my keys in the car. Scott bullied me and essentially said that if I didn't get it done immediately, he'd take possession of my things. I even offered to pay for another day and he said "no, just get your stuff off the truck". I called corporate and the woman there heard him. She said that to help, she was going to send me to another place to drop the trailer and it didn't have to be in until Sunday so I'd have time to hire someone else. (Scott scared them off) I asked about the charge and she said there'd be none because it wasn't my fault. I was so upset and shaky that I fell out of the truck when I moved it elsewhere. I was hurt and 911 had to send help. I'm still in excruciating pain. I was bawling while emergency services helped me. I've never been so upset. This is like a bad nightmare. I turned the trailer in a day early and received a bill of over $250 the next day. We already paid almost $200 over the original cost at Dahl's (and almost $80 for a storage bldg) and this shouldn't have cost anything. I've never had anything like this happen with UHaul. You're usually professional. I'm shocked and angry. The Uhaul place on 13th Street is the total opposite of Dahl's. They're kind and helpful.nancy m. | First Impressions
My locker was broken into. The cop already knew how before he even saw the locker because he said they had already been there multiple times for the same thing. So that tells me the staff knew and still fails to inform tenants. No one ever tried to reach me from uhual. Everything went really, really well until I went to try to get into Bay 3/4. I wasn't told that the bay doors were locked and I didn't know how to get in. I went back to the office but no one was there to help (busy smoking out front) so I watched the monitor to see what other people were doing and I figured it out on my own. I would have preferred someone explaining it to me correctly the first time.....that I needed to enter my code twice in two different spots to get in.
