The Altamonte Springs FL UHaul store — in general, — and the general manager/owner of the store in particular were superb. Let me count the ways, On a very busy Monday morning at the UHaul store my SUV’s electrical system was not lighting the passenger side lights of the trailer that I needed to rent. The GM properly diagnosed a bad fuse, found the bad fuse in my complex fuse box, confirmed his diagnoses, found a new fuse in his shop, installed it, and rented me a spotless trailer with brand new tires. Why would I ever go any place else to rent a truck or trailer?

I went to the Apopka location first. They did not have an available trailer. The clerk there referred me to the Altamonte location a short way down SR436. He even reserved a trailer for me. Everyone at both locations was friendly, helpful, and professional.

I love the location and my current storage the only issue I have with this location is my accessibility into the gate and out of the gate. There is always a trailer or a truck in my path of getting to the code box and sometimes a truck blocking the exit I have to call the store to come move it. Maybe just a little more Consideration for those using the storage and not just renting trucks

I returned the van the same day and nobody checked the lockboxes or the van was there and I got an early phone call to tell me that I wasn't returned it. I think before making phone call it is important to verify if the vehicle is located in the parking lot or the lockbox is closed. After that everything was great. Thanks

I've rented many times before, I'm a repeat customer. However.I was told the 5x8 box trailer would be $99 plus tax for my rental, only to be told on my return it was $142 ?? I asked how is that and how does it break down, but was told it would be on my emailed receipt, which I HAVEN'T received yet??? I'll call, why isn't your phone # listed with your address?

Manager Wendell is always great. And he runs a good location. I will continue to go there for rentals and services. But there is one agent there that has a poor attitude, he seems annoyed to help or encounter a customer. I have had a few instances of interaction with him. Maybe he would be best utilized in the back office or for maintaining equipment. IMHO

I’ve been to this location several times and had no issue at all. I’ve used the app before. On this rental I checked in /out with it. My only difficulty was being able to find the chart that showed how much gas to replace. I ended up finding it somewhere else. The specific link on the app did not resolve. I think I found it on my contract!

I swept out the back of the truck before we loaded up our belongings as it was pretty dirty and when i picked up the truck, the outer gas cap was not attached, but hanging. It had been raining that day but luckily, the truck worked fine. Easy pick up and easy drop off. Good price.

I told you I wasn’t happy, the reservation contract got messed up wrong truck wrong trailer sent me back three hours behind my schedule that I already had set with movers and everything else and because of the setback my movers had to leave so I had to load the truck myself.

As I stated my contract was messed up they didn’t have the equipment I wanted and it sent me back three hours and I had to load my own truck because my movers left because I was so far behind and I was driving 12 hours that day so I wanted up going six messed up my plans. I was not happy.

Process was mostly streamlined. After hours check in was a bit lengthy but if it prevents conflict with billing later on, it is worth it. Last time I rented the process wasn’t in place so fortunately I had taken all of my own pictures and provided them to customer service to resolve the over billing issue. Was long and stressful. The new improvements to your app made a placeholder for every part that could be a conflict. Good job.

Everyone at the location in Altamonte Springs were great to work with from beginning to end. The truck I rented on the other hand was a little bit rough. A lot of play in the steering wheel was some what of challenge. This is nothing that would prevent me from using this location again.

Customer Service was AWESOME. When I made the reservation I was told the box truck included a Hand Cart so we did not add one. Sadly once we got to my house to pack there WASN'T one. Thankfully my friend's two strong sons did without but we were unable to move the Washer & Dryer due to this fact. I'm not sure WHY it wasn't there but it was a bit frustrating for sure.

I fought with his U-Haul for over 10 months to get this thing removed out of my name and I continuously was harassed and sent demands for payment of goods. There were to be sold at auction when the storage unit was left empty and the previous general manager a white female whose name I can’t recall at this moment not Wendell, was made aware and said she would remove the lock and never did and I made them aware. I made U-Haul aware and I was continuously harassed. I may be seeking legal council. Just because I don’t know the legality of hunting down someone to pay for a storage unit who paid his storage unit on time all the time when I moved out.

The staff is very rude and do not show any empathy towards their customers. There is only one young gentlemen that was of a lot of help, which I can’t remember his name. But the other ones and the manager (lady) if there is more than one, was horrible.

Moving in seemed pretty simple. But the move out process was poor. I have used u-haul for many years when I needed to move or store things. I was told on move in and out that there would be a pro rated rent for any time not used for the month. I confirmed the amount on the day we moved out, with 9 days used during that month. After 5 days, I still hadn't received any refund. I called and spoke with the manager and owner of the facility, both saying that it's not possible that I was told that. I am now being told that nothing can be done because it is a nationwide policy for no refunds and yet they are able to rent out the unit I have paid for and have no access to. I contacted corporate and initially was told that it was based on each location's discretion. The customer service representative on the phone at corporate was professional, but was unable to help on her end as the funds would have to be released from the store specifically. A few moments later being told that the policy did indeed change. As someone who has worked in customer service for many years, this company's policy has now cost them my business and anyone else's that I come in contact with. This facility and staff in particular will never be recommended.
