The wood uBox structure is poorly built as they are breaking apart at the door and very difficult to close and open. I see there are newer containers that constructed with metal outside in my area - and those look much better constructed.Penny W.

Had drop off at our new house on 6/25 and scheduled return on 6/27. Not only was my china hutch delivered with shattered glass but pickup didn't happen until 7/14. Nobody came to pick it up and then I was charged again due to their inability to pick it up. I got a refund via corporate. Even after that I called nearly every other day to get the uhaul picked up. Constantly getting told that "You'll get a call from our driver and it will be picked up today". The ubox ended up being stuck in our driveway for 2.5 weeks!! Stopping furniture delivery and multiple other aspects of our move in. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced being given the constant run around. Don't give pick-up dates if they aren't true and deliver broken furniture that I'm still waiting on the insurance quote on. All the negative impacts on the move were via the jacksonville/ north little rock location, not the California location.Kaylynne R.

I called to ship my u-box on 4/9. By 4/20 I had not received any communication on the status of my box in regards to the shipping process. I sat on the phone for 4 hours on 4/20 to find out that my u-box was missing. No one reached out to try and contact me to let me know, find a solution etc. If I never called on 4/20 would they have ever contacted me about my box? I'll never know. My box shipped 2 weeks after my first contact with the company which pushed the guaranteed delivery date out 2 more weeks. Luckily, the box arrived 2 days after the first guaranteed delivery date, so I didn't have to wait a full month to receive my items. When your box arrives you have to wait 24 hours to retrieve it. No one told me this either, so I had facilitated a truck to pick up my box & then I couldn't get it. The entire process was stressful and inconvenient and communication was terrible.Audrey R.
I want to specifically call out the employee by the name of Monique. She went above and beyond the call of duty to help me with this reservation. She not only took all the time I needed to resolve my issues and complete my reservations, but she gave me her personal cell phone in case I needed to reach her. This was because it can be awhile on hold to reach someone. This employee needs to be commended for her superior service. She gives U-Haul a very good name. Please ensure that her supervisor recognizes her for the work she did. Also, when I visited the Anaheim location to get into my boxes, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. When I just called your main number, I reached a gentleman by the name of Rod and he also provided superior service. He should also be commended for good service. Meagan is the woman who initially delivered the boxes to my home that I sold and then picked them up. She was terrific!! Overall, I did like the service and would recommend it to anyone. But, my personal experience was not all that good. My container got lost and I was led along for over a week before it was found and finally delivered 13 days late. I also had damaged furniture due to the handling of the box, it clearly got twisted, tipped to the side, or somehow mishandled to cause the damage.Marshall S.
The process was very easy. Everything arrived safely and staff was all friendly. My box arrived early to its destination. I would recommend. The only hiccup was with origin pick up. I had to delay the pickup time for an hour and was given a 10:30 AM time. Totally fine and was thinking 11-11:30 would be ideal since I had to reschedule. The truck came at 12:30 for pickup without a call on being delayed. I had a few errands to run so if I knew it was going to be delayed by over an hour I would have gotten those things done.Rebecca K.

I could not have imagined that even during the Pandemic my first time experience with U-Haul would have gone so smoothly. My reservation was for a cross country move. U-haul voicemails and emails were a unexpected pleasure. I was alerted to pickup and final destination with updated information and even promptly refunded for several days of delivery delays. I was really impressed with my experience. Everyone was so helpful and made sure that our things got to where they needed to go. The only inconvenience was the dimensions of the pods internally was ever so slightly smaller than what was listed online, and this meant our couch didn't fit so we had to leave it. We hated the couch anyway, but I could see other people getting really frustrated in that situation. You might want to update the specs online to be a half inch smaller or so to account for the wood warping.Hillary A.

This was NOT Anaheim Hills. This was National City, CA. Glad I also visited this odd location to see the inside of Pod and to chat with a driver. I have an angled 30 degree driveway where I saved $800. for a silly city permit not to rest one pod on the street for 2 days. My driver was terrific and supportive. I used to drive forklifts and she knew hers 5 times better, placing the pods EXACTLY where 4 would fit. She also had great efficiency with handling a minor neighbor issue. With short notice, the delivery was delayed causing us to lose our reserved assistance. When asked, no one would/could provide a reason. Checking the weather on all possible routes, it was obvious that the weather wasn't the issue. We were then charged additional rent for the boxes which took several days to correct.Dick M.

All of the delivery staff/drivers were helpful and great. The warehouse ladies were told me I needed to rent another Ubox instead of just getting one large storage unit. That wasn't true! Having 2 different Uboxes would have made my situation more stressful and more expensive. Discouraging.Keri S.
Oh so many problems with everything related to customer service. Customer service continued passing me around the automated system, probably spent a total of 3 hours on the phone trying to figure out what was going on with my pod since September20th or so. On top of all of that, when my pod got to Austin, I was told I didn't have anything at all booked for delivery- spent another 45 minutes on the phone. Just terrible and insult to injury, my television is destroyed from the move.Brieana N.

You incorrectly charged the wrong card which pulled a grand in the negative, then charged the right one without a credit. So I was out a total of 4K for a week until the credit was applied. Horrible customer service, no one wanted to help. Boxes were days late getting to the destination so I had no help to pickup and unload. I kept my end of the contract, I even paid TWICE for a week. Apparently contract rules only apply to the customer, not UHaul. Go with someone else, anyone else. It is worth the money to get what you pay for and in a timely manner.River F.

I overall had a great experience...I was supposed to receive my box on Aug 4 but it didn't arrive here on time. I have no problem with that I just wish some one would have called to let me know so I didn't spend the day waiting when I could have been getting other things done. But I enjoyed all the staff!!! I was very happy with choosing uhaul. I would choose them again or recommend them. Again it was no problem my things didn't arrive on time, weather, shipping logistics etc i understand, I just would have liked a courtesy phone call.Rebecca W.
This was a disappointing experience from the start! First my boxes were late. Then y'all didn't have enough for the first day so y'all didn't bring any I didn't get my boxes until three days later because y'all kept giving me excuses that the forklift was broke and then the hydraulics was broke and then you didn't have enough covers for the boxes. Been you are like picking it up which caused me to have an extra day at my hotel and put me behind schedule. Then you couldn't tell me when where it was going to be dropped off that instead of spring it needed to goTo Kingwood location. Did not need furniture pads and took up a lot of room in container and were heavy to move. Glad they were free. Wish there was an option when ordering Ubox to click yes or no to furniture pads. Glad I had extra room in Ubox to move the pads would have been made of box was full and had to figure out what to do with pads or have to make a trip to Uhaul to return them. When dropped off box for loading the box was not level on driveway so container shifted while standing. Made opening and closing door difficult. Thankful my building had a security guy who was able to help get the box closed. There was no way I could have done it by myself. Please to see forklift drivers were woman and Uhaul did not gender discriminate. Women were friendly, on time and patience. Excellent customer skills. Would recommend the Ubox to friends.Laurie S.

This is my 2nd time in 3 years using UBox and both times have been a horrible experience both times I find. Myself having to stay on top of it almost daily from dates and times and things changing. Monique the manager at the Anaheim branch helped me as much as she could. Outside if that, this is been a horrible thing experience and I would look to use PoDS next cause of how horrible this was. I've been close to $8000 on those moves and am very upset with the process.James K.

Absolutely terrible communication on Uhaul's end. When I picked up my truck, I was informed by text that this would be my drop off location. However, when it came time to drop off the keys, there was no drop off box as stated by the check-out instructions I was sent. I spent 30 minutes in the parking lot trying to find the box while placed on hold with the Uhaul customer service line, with no answer in the end. The next day, I receive a call stating that they were sorry but they were not a 24 hour drop off site, contrary to what I was informed. For what it's worth, the caller was polite and helpful, but from my end it is still unclear whether the poor communication was from from mistakes made at this site or at another call center. Ultimately, it has caused me to waste my time on two separate occasions, the first when I went to return the truck and the second when I have to go back to return the keys.Jonathan H.
The process used to 'schedule' delivery of the U-Boxes leaves the customer with an anxious waiting period just prior to their actual move. I was not given time of delivery until the day prior to the actual delivery which made it difficult to secure the help of movers from Movinghelp.com. I had to call numerous times, both in Anaheim and in Denver, to determine the delivery time. In Denver, I received the information less than 24 hours from the time of delivery, leaving me with little time to secure movers. The movers could not be reached after 6pm - which was the time I received the "scheduler's" phone call to confirm. This was frustrating and caused problems with my new landlord regarding the timing of arrival. Both Selena (in Santa Ana) and Yasi (in Denver) were wonderful as they coordinated delivery & pickup of the U-boxes. They deserve a huge shout out for their professionalism and service.Alison S.
From the moment I scheduled delivery, this has been, quite frankly, a complete NIGHTMARE. I've had to call at least a dozen times, if not more, speaking to I don't know how many people, being made to sit on hold for a combined total of several hours, and speaking to people who either didn't know answers to things but made things up anyway (which is COMPLETELY unacceptable and unprofessional) or passed the buck constantly ("You need to speak to this other person," "I can't help you over the phone - you need to go to the store and have them do XYZ," "I can't help you in the store - you need to call the customer service line," etc.). Specifically, I first spoke to a clueless agent who tried to say that my U-Boxes could be delivered the same day I made the call (it was in the evening time on May 18 or May 19, I believe, and the boxes were 1200 or so miles away at the time). She also tried to book movers who were in Oakland, CA, when my boxes were in Los Angeles, and I am now in Dallas, TX. I asked her several times about these points because this did not make sense, but she insisted that the details were correct. She had no idea what she was doing, and had I relied on her, I would have been screwed. The second person I spoke to said he couldn't even see my account and that I would need to call the store to have them put in an operations request to have my account fixed because he couldn't do it. My thought was, â€œWhy are you making the CUSTOMER do YOUR job to fix a technical issue on YOUR side?!â€ After calling the store, getting told they had no idea what was going on, and being asked to call yet ANOTHER person (someone in scheduling) the next day, I spoke to a manager. The manager was nice, and she gave me a $50 credit for my trouble, telling me I could take it to the store after my order was finished so that the $50 credit could be applied as a refund to my U-Boxes. Then, she told me I would still need to make that call the next day to the regional scheduler, apologizing that I had to do so. So, the next day, I did, and after spending more time on hold, I finally seemed to get things scheduled for a June 3 guaranteed arrival date. Then, on June 3, I get a call from the Moving Help that the boxes were not there and would not be there until June 8 â€“ the MOVING HELP had to tell me, not U-HAUL, who should have informed me! Obviously, I was upset. I called to find out what happened, and they told me that I should have been informed, but no one did; they transferred me to the regional office in Dallas, and the agent at the regional office apologized that they had dropped the ball in informing me. They did tell me that I would get back $50 per day for the shipment being late ($250) and that that would be processed once the order was done. I FINALLY got my boxes on June 9, when the Moving Help (who were amazing and gracious, given the circumstances) were able to deliver and unload for me. Now, on June 10, I went by the closest store (7043 GreenvSeth K.
