The wiring harness on the trailer shorted out about 100 miles into my 900 mile trip it blew fuses in my truck and I had no working lights on the trailer. After investigating I found out the wiring harness had exposed wires and whoever put it on the trailer wrapped it in a way where it crushed the wires causing it to short out.TERRY A.

The trucks steering was super messed up. The transmission slipped and got stuck in gears the entire trip. I reserved a 10 foot truck on a Monday for the move on Friday. Only to be informed less than 24 hours before driving 6 hours from Massachusetts that the 10 foot truck was actually not available. I was given a 15 foot truck instead which was way worse on fuel costing me more money in the long run. Unreliable transmission and steering made the trip back very stressful. Overall wouldn't use this service again. Also was displeased to see multiple 10 foot trucks in the parking lot upon arrival in Annapolis, one of which I had probably reserved and was marked as available at the location.LIONEL C.

When I return the vehicle to the Annapolis location I want over my concerns with the attendant told him that the trailer lights connection on the back of the truck was not working there was gravel coming out from and inside the tailgate and bedliner my entire trip to South Carolina rocks were falling out of the truck and I have not heard back from anyone as to Any compensation for maintaining U-Haul's equipment or cleaning of said Equipment still waiting for a response I hope you will helpJeffery Z.

Your website is misleading with the calculations in what your containers hold. Also, your partnership with Moving Help seems like an asset to customers however I found the lack of communication between the movers and U haul was a huge problem. The movers were asking things of me that U haul said they should not. They were unsure of what they were responsible, what I was responsible and what U haul was responsible for. I submitted a complaint on 4/25/21. I received a confirmation that my submission was received and that I would be contacted but no one has contacted me,Karen W.

What a Rip Off. I just paid $144 to rent a moving truck that I only used from 12pm-4pm. $144 for 4 hours that's $40 a hour WOW!. Your advertising is very misleading when it say rent a truck go only 19.99. Also I was charged $36 for less than 1/4 tank of gas. It was a gas shortage in the area and no one had gas so I was unable to fill the tank which would have cost me $10 tops. I called to tell them that there is a gas shortage so I can't get gas and the employee told me to bad we don't care about the shortage it was in the contract so you have to pay. The price, availability, and van and facility cleanliness were great but the staff were pretty unprofessional. I used to work for both rent-a-car and truck rental and it set my standards much higher. Nobody greeted me upon entry, I had to find the service desk alone. The first two staff members I met were too busy to help me so i went to the third. While she was nice enough she didn't say much and what she did say came out at a mumble. Also, all three of them were dressed in sweat shirts which didn't look very good. Everything else was great but it would be worthwhile to give your staffing and customer service standards a hard look. A sidebar, I called multiple times throughout the day before coming in to pick up my reservation and never once got a hold of someone successfully.LUKE C.

Convince your company that it doesn't make sense to ask someone who is returning a vehicle after hours to spend time taking external pictures of it just so that you know where it's parked. For 1, it's dangerous to be standing outside in public at night taking pictures in what is probably an isolated area and 2) The vehicle has a unique identifying number on it. You mean that you can't find it on your own w/o a picture? I'm sure you could...after all, it's on your property...so please ask them to stop requiring that? The associate that helped was very aloof and really did not seem to care that i was even there. He appeared to have no idea what he was doing and seemed in no hurry to move things along. I had a reservation and was still in the store at least 20-25 minutes. He appeared to be having computer issues and was mumbling instead of conveying to me was was happening. I also had asked for a utility dolly. When he finally got my check in complete I asked if there was a dolly in the truck, his response was I don't know. Another associate got up and got me a dolly for the truck. I leave and get to the location of my move and start loading truck i have the whole front of the truck loaded when I receive a call saying they gave me the wrong truck. The one they gave me was reserved for a one way rental. They said they could meet me somewhere to switch trucks. I told them they could bring truck to me. So I unload truck and wait 45 minutes for them to bring me other truck. At this point I am rather upset to say the least. My 85yo Mother had rented this truck so I could move her, They are communicating all of this to her which was also upsetting her along with the stress of a move. I felt at this point that U haul should just have given her the rental for the EXTREME inconvenience! I picked truck up at 130 pm on Friday at 4/30 and returned on Sat 5/2 at 3pm. They reduced mileage rate to 0.99 a mile and charged me for one day. Also the truck they gave me on the switch had no gas in it. So I brought the truck back with no gas in it and the check in at the curb person who brought me the switch out check said I was going to be charged for fuel. I was never explained that . I AM EXTREMELY UNHAPPY WITH THE CUSTOMER SERVICE at this location. I am a business owner and if someone made that kind of mistake and inconvenienced one of my customers that way along with the poor customer service I would probably fire them! Upon check in the manager did not seem to upset by the situation either. Never once apologized. I WILL NEVER RECOMMENED UHAUL TO ANYONE AND I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS OF MY EXPERIENCE!!Steven W.

Everything there was fine (people/place). However, I reserved a unit on my own and it was no longer available. I ended up having to spend MORE money each month because of this. You should be honest when people "RESERVE" ahead of time and let them know if they NEED that size storage unit, the should reserve a larger one because theirs will not be available when they arrive. This is somewhat false advertising. STICK TO YOUR WORD! If I reserve something, this is precisely what I expect when I get there. Not having to find something else!!! RESREVATIONS are made on purpose. Have it available if you want customers to return in the future. Storage facilities can be hit or miss. The staff availability was low, but given everything with COVID that’s understandable. The locker I rented had a lock that didn’t prevent the unit from being opened, were it a long term rental I would have had them fit it with the proper lock. The company is so shoddy and badly organized that they don't even realize that I'm not a new customer. I've been at the storage facility for over a year. My first contact with them was when they spammed me trying to sell me insrance. My second contact was when they told me I had a late fee because they weren't getting the automatic payment that I set up ages ago.
