There was an employee outside where vehicles were dropped off who was loudly cussing and confronting people. He had a UHAUL shirt on and he said he was a preacher practicing his speech. The man that helped me told me I needed to call to change the drop off location. A woman employee then stepped in, she took care of everything for me at the counter and the male employee was much less helpful. A promotion for her is in order. The storage room I rented was okay. Communicate with the customer if the order has been delayed instead of having the customer contact you the day it's supposed to arrive and be towed and it hasn't even left the state and originated from. Although $50 a day might seem like it's some consolation it does no justice for all of the money wasted on flights to meet the box in time, in my case. Communication is key especially if you charge monthly for the safety of the boxvincente S.

I have yet to get a final receipt. Store opened 20 minutes late so I could not get box and packing g supplies. I had to do digital drop box to get truck which was good but the store opening late put me behind. I pre paid for about 100 miles. IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE ABOUT CHOSING THIS PLACE, JUST GO FOR IT--YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. I went there yesterday to rent a storage unit. I had no idea whatsoever what I wanted because I had never done this before. The assistant waited on me immediately. He allowed me to explain my situation without interrupting. Then he told me what is available, and the gentlemen showed me fantastic "real" examples of the various sizes of the bins and their prices. (They have walk-in samples right there in the office).I also was happy to get a "deal" of the first month free! They let me ask questions and answered all of them very thoroughly. They did not push me to make a decision. They were extremely patient and polite. Also, everyone's appearance was impeccable. As for their store? Unbelievably clean, well lit and bright fresh paint on all items (orange). The grounds (the actual storage area outside) was also clean and well-paved. I feel that my stuff is safe at this facility 1st, because the staff exuded "trust," and 2nd because they have an excellent security system. Plenty of parking. I would use this Uhaul location all the time just for the great experience! Trailer was clean and in good working order, and there were plenty of personnel to assist me. I have rented from some dealers in the past who had damaged trailers with broken taillights and loong wait times, even though I had a reservation. The interior of the truck didn't seem to be touched/checked at all. Grime and slime all over the console/drink holders. Burnt matches in drink holders. Someone's towel in the floor behind the seat. Seats dirty. Air conditioner stopped using the front vents and could only use windshield or floor vents. Cabin doors did not shut/seal well. If you were parked for more than a few minutes, cabin would fill with exhaust. Will be requesting refund for truck fees.Corey J.

The truck that was rented to me had a driver's door that appeared to have been pried open at one point which caused an extremely loud noise while driving on the highway as well as allowing rain to come into the cab of the truck as I was driving. The store down the street told me they didn't have my truck. The owner was high out of his mind and said â€œfuck uhaul Home Depot rentals are cheaperâ€ as a way to what if should of made me feel better they didn't have my truck. NOTE this is the gas station down the street from this one. They sent me here luckily you had one truck. My buddy got screwed by y'all the day before so I expected it. I was pissed and probably not the nicest (rightfully so bc I had to move out of a house with unknown mold damage) ASAP. This location was calm, professional and luckily had a 26 footer. As a company I worry about your fleet and reliability as everyone I know has had issues. But as a whole I think you have a good crew at this location.RYAN L.

First let me say that everyone at Uhaul, at every location I've ever been to, is amazing, helpful, and provides a great customer experience! The Annapolis, West Street location was no exception - I truly felt like everyone I encountered had my best interests at heart and I was well taken care of. The facility, however, was a slightly different story. I've been a customer at Extra Space Storage in Baltimore, Tucson, and San Diego over the last few years, and while I realize that each facility is different - I've always been pleased with the state of the buildings being well built, dry (or very little evidence of leaking,) and readily available carts. But Extra Space has gotten quite expensive over the years, and it was no longer cost-effective to stay there so I switched to Uhaul after pricing 9 different facilities in my area, mainly because the customer service AND price were so great! The main office and grounds are fine at the West Street location, but going into my building (F) it immediately smelled moldy and musty. Furthermore, my unit showed signs of serious water damage - pink mold on the brick wall that likely weeps when it rains, and substantial rusting along the bottom foot of the metal walls. My understanding was that my unit was the only one of it's size available - potentially on the first floor - and after 6 hours of downsizing and moving from one storage facility to this one, with no sign of carts, and an impending rainstorm, I just wanted to unload as quickly as possible and get it all over with. Otherwise, I would have asked to see any other potential units. I have renters insurance and packed and stacked with potential water damage in mind, but I would be remiss if I didn't share how concerned I am given the state of the unit. The price is right, for now, but if it's raised like most others are I will likely find a different facility.PIPER W. | First Impressions
Staff was friendly but either not trained on office automation or office automation is defective. Staff could not provide a receipt for the return of empty Uboxes on 2 different occasions. They also do not answer their phones, so all calls are routed to a call center with long wait times. After 35 minutes on hold I got a receipt for returning the second Ubox, only to see that the return was marked full, not empty. After another call and another 39 minute hold I was redirected to a different number for the customer service call center to make the correction. This time I could only wait 35 minutes and had to hang up. So now to fix a problem with errant staff and failed automation, I am going in person.FREDERICK R.

The price is great for the area but I ended up going to another facility because the climate control wasn’t very controlled and the facility and units were filthy and bug invested. The entrance doors aren’t sealed so the climate control is only slightly there and it lets in bugs. Both units when I moved in had paint chips and dirt all over the floor, bugs and spider webs everywhere, and the lighting was very dim. I ended up paying double for an indoor climate controlled unit right down the road. Price is a factor when selecting a unit but I would pay slightly more and use this facility if it were better maintained. Scheduled a mobile 24/7 pickup, show up at 7:30am and the pickup does not work. I called U-Haul, waited on hold for half an hour, and was told that the truck either wasn't at that location, or was not ready. My only option was to wait until 9:00am until the location opened so I could be given a different truck. If the truck wasn't available, why wasn't I notified? Why allow someone to show up at 7:30am when there is not truck to pick up? I was then told that I would be given a $50 credit for the trouble, but the credit did not post to my credit card. I have used another company and I was expecting a much better experience when moving into my storage unit. Upon arrival the check in was smooth, but the employee did not go over any of the documents provided other than the directions to my unit. The employee cursed to other customers and it was unprofessional. With this being a new facility, I assumed my unit would be clean as I have used another company and did not have to clean the unit before placing my items inside. The unit had a lock on it when I arrived and I had to return to the customer service desk to get it opened. When opened there were mouse traps and bugs everywhere. I cleaned it all up and placed my items in the unit, but again this was not the experience I was expecting when getting this unit. The process for renting the storage unit was easy. The customer service I received from the staff was outstanding. We shared a few laughs and they explained to me how the facility worked. The issue I have is the hours and the passcode access. I would liked to have access to the storage unit 24/7. The major issue is the passcode. The passcode I was given does not work. I was then given a second passcode that did not work. I was given a third passcode that did not work and then given a forth passcode that did not work. I am still without a passcode and that is frustrating. Because of your convenient office hours I was able to get the staff to assist me. Everything there was fine (people/place). However, I reserved a unit on my own and it was no longer available. I ended up having to spend MORE money each month because of this. You should be honest when people "RESERVE" ahead of time and let them know if they NEED that size storage unit, the should reserve a larger one because theirs will not be available when they arrive. This is somewhat false advertising. STICK TO YOUR WORD! If I reserve something, this is precisely what I expect when I get there. Not having to find something else!!! RESREVATIONS are made on purpose. Have it available if you want customers to return in the future. Storage facilities can be hit or miss. The staff availability was low, but given everything with COVID that’s understandable. The locker I rented had a lock that didn’t prevent the unit from being opened, were it a long term rental I would have had them fit it with the proper lock. The company is so shoddy and badly organized that they don't even realize that I'm not a new customer. I've been at the storage facility for over a year. My first contact with them was when they spammed me trying to sell me insrance. My second contact was when they told me I had a late fee because they weren't getting the automatic payment that I set up ages ago.
