I was confused by the girl .she was very nice and helpful but she told me something about the gas and a quater tank but was confusing so when i brought it back i was charged more than if i put a quater tank.but it didnt even have that much gas in it to begin with so idk

I drove the truck 41 miles and thought I was going to run out of gas. I was told the truck had a quarter of a tank and that would be plenty of gas for my short trip. I gauge read 1/4 when i rented it but within the first 5 miles the gauge showed it used almost a 8th of a tank. I put 6 gallons of gas in it before I returned it. So if the gauge is correct that means you only have a 24gal tank on the largest truck you rent. Your staff was not helpful and ask how heavy I loaded the truck and that was his explanation as to why I amost ran out of gas. If thats true then your staff should have each truck that goes out full of fuel not 1/4 of a tank. I will never rent any equipment from this place again and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

The service provider made this a nice experience . She was a people person very knowledgeable of the equipment . Accurate and friendly . She was the only attendant and helped the customers and made everyone feel welcome and a valued customer . Can’t say enough about her being an asset to your business .

The agent that checked me in was what I call a "Hustler". The first thing she did was try to charge me .99 mile. The second thing was to try to convince me that I could not have the truck for 24 hours. She then put me through the wringer. about many, many ting little x's that she said representative former paid damage. About this time I got pissed and told her to refund my 69.00 that she ""extorted" out of me. She again in typical street thug rhetoric said it would take up to 72 hours to refund my money. I have never been treated worse by any other business in a long time. The only reason I gave this a less than the worst rating is because the man that checked me in was extremely nice. Thank you, Sir, for your kindness and professionalism. I will never go back to the Oildale location again.

I was charged double. Apon returning the trailer at 3:30 on the day I rented I found there was no staff available to accept my return. I waited for 15 /20 minutes unhooked the trailer myself and left. Horrible untrained customer service . To make matters worse they charged me double because they didn't check to see that their trailer was returned as I told them. (Recently both of my parents died and I was moving items out of their house) Thanks uhaul for adding to my misery!

You need more workers. And a separate line for reservations. I waited in line almost an hour it was busy. And when returning i had to wait almost 30 minutes. And you guys had a lady who was clearly on something steal stuff and make a mess. The guys working were very nice and trying to do there best. Also if we bring the truck back with more gas than it needs. You guys should have some type of credit to give the customer.

Took over an hour to get the trailer after reserving online. employees were rude. Trailer was covered in mud and full of trash and broken glass when I picked it up.

Have more than one employee. It took over a half hour in line to rent the dolly and then another half hour in line to return it because the lone employee was having to check in and out vehicles by themselves. All I had was a silly dolly and I had to wait far too long for my transactions.

This was absolutely the WORST Uhaul experience I can possibly imagine. When I made my reservations for a moving truck the associate (Chase) who helped me gave me no information about what would be required of me upon picking up the truck other than that I would need my DL. . He did NOT inform me that the truck I reserved had no ramp. This meant that I later had to change which truck I was renting and pay more. He did NOT tell me that there was no dolly included, but that it would be an additional charge. I arrived at the location at 9:50am with another person who I was adding as a driver. I was in the store waiting for my reservation/truck for an hour. The staff had to start my reservations over 3 times, had to run my credit card and collect my information at least twice and offered no discount for the inconvenience. When I added the additional driver the location or overall system was not set up to do this online and the driver I was adding was asked by one of your associates if they could take a photo of his drivers license with her personal phone. Neither myself or the other driver were comfortable with this but they insisted it was the only way to add an additional driver. They then suggested that we not add the driver but that I could drive the truck out of the driveway where they couldn't see and switch drivers. (Which I did NOT do) After this absurd suggestion they moved on to scare tactics to convince me to pay extra for insurance. When I said that both I and the driver have full coverage they continue on to say that it wouldn't cover any damage but only what they offered would. After standing there for an hour I was so exhausted, frustrated and ready to leave that I just agreed to the additional insurance. I can't possibly include everything negative that happened because I can't remember everything. I will NEVER use this location ever again and I will advise anyone I know against it. I will also NEVER use Uhaul again if there is any other alternative. I've never had such slow, incompetent, unsatisfactory service.

Store opens at 7am, yet the door wasn’t unlocked for me to be helped until after 7:30. Someone had siphoned the fuel from most of the trucks so waiting for help was an extra 30 minutes. I finally spoke with who identified herself as a manager, she was helpful but very unprofessional. I was told by her that the tank was at almost empty and when I got my contract it said it was at over a quarter. There was more than a few things wrong with this experience. Will definitely be going with Enterprise or someone else next time.

Everyone was so helpful and it was the best experience I have had renting a U-Haul or any motor vehicle! The van was brand new (unlike other companys)so it got fantastic gas mileage and it ran like a dream!! I would highly recommend The U-Haul on N. Chester to anyone.

Made online reservations with smartphone pickup. Phrase lock was not on truck. Agents could not find the key which caused a delay. The truck had zero gas and had to wait for an agent to add gas which caused an additional delay. Unable to log mileage and gas uploads at pickup due to delays.

Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and curtious, I spoke to 5 different employees from the North Chester loacation, in Bakersfield Ca. All the employees greated me and were extremely knowledgable and patient. This was a great experience, while my whole home was being packed up and stored, Uhauls fabulous new F150 had me feeling smooth. While the employees put a smile on my face. Manager of the location is very good. She is pleasant, friendly and very knowledgeable. I like dealing with her. Her location is not very good. In speaking with one of the employees I was informed that several of the vehicles were vandalized. It probably is a good idea to put a fence around the location or have security at the location. The truck I rented ran fine but had a broken windshield, oil pressure gage did not operate properly and it needed windshield wipers. The positive of this location is the manager. She does a good job.

Please stop with the 3/8 of a tank nonsense. That is just ridiculous.Nobody can be absolutely sure what 3/8 of a tank is. You need to top them off and have the customers return them in like fashion.

Friendly guys but got truck with virtually no gas in the tank. Long process for check-in. Nothing to do with Bakersfield site but I had rented a truck online a month prior and paid for it online. I called and spoke with Kelly representative for Santa Clarita to confirm my reservation the day before the move. She told me no truck was available for the move the following day. She told me I would need to drive from Santa Clarita to Lancaster to pick up a truck if I wanted one, otherwise, I was out of luck and she couldn’t do anything for me. I was very frustrated since I had planned movers and had a deadline to move. She became very upset with me instead of trying to work through the issue she threatened to cancel my order and hang up on me. Instead of helping, she elevated the tension. I finally asked if we could get a truck from Bakersfield since my son was driving from there to help. Kelly transferred me to the Chester Bakersfield location where Chase was very helpful. Overall, I would never rent online and not sure I would use UHaul since I was not guaranteed a truck when it came to the move date. I still had to pay an extra $40 for gas driving from Bakersfield to Santa Clarita but was too exhausted to ask for a refund.

My only concern is that it took longer than normal to return the rented equipment, quite a few people were attempting to return rentals just before dark and there was only employee to handle the returns so that caused a backup and long wait to return the rental. Anticipating that most people either want to return or rent equipment on a friday evening at about dark, having more than one employee on duty would seem to be a good idea.

The 5x9 trailer I was rented had been severely damaged prior to my usage (there were several "X" stickers on the left rear of the unit (near left turn signal) and at least one on the right-rear fender abover the tire; indicating this damage was known about. The trailer would not pull straight and was tracking a couple feet to the drivers side! I had a very difficult time getting the ramp pins to disengage. I only used one after I was able get it open. I was on a very tight schedule to deliver some items and decided to continue using the trailer, but in hindsight, it was probably unsafe to use it in its present condition. I made very distinct groaning sounds while driving slowly on surface streets. All in all, I am very disappointed to give a poor review of this facility as I have used them many times in the past (and this exact trailer) and had excellent results. Hopefully this unit will be retired or completely overhauled prior to being rented again..it's dangerous and a poor reflection of your company.

Positive comment. The manager was friendly and understanding over being late. They also gave me a credit when I overfilled the tank to a certain amount. Negative comment. First I was charged for the estimate on the day I rented without being told, which overdrew my account since I didn't expect to be charged until I returned the equipment. Second when I returned the equipment I was overcharged and since I hadn't seen the first charge this overdrew me. Then the next day the first charge was dropped but another charge in the correct amount was posted to my account. So at this time I have 2 charges on my account, the second one and what is hopefully the final one. I'm writing this on Sunday. I'll wait until Monday to see if the second charge is dropped. In the meantime I was charged overdraft fees which I'll wait and see if they're removed when all is said and done. So it's a big deal to me that I was charged 3 times. The first I can kind of understand, but if it was intentional I should have been told. I don't know where the second charge came from and while the 3rd charge was the correct one the total of the three of them messed up my account.

You need to have direct phone lines to each location instead of transferring the call to the 800 number. I needed to get a hold of the office directly and never made it. which pissed me off cuz I didn't want to be charged for being late.
