I was furious with the level of customer service I received in the first place Now I don’t even know how to explain how mad I am. I went to get my oil change and the mechanics told me they can’t by the way the hitch wiring was installed. The wire is hanging loose under my car over the ground plate they can’t remove now. Exact word for word comment from the new mechanic “ whoever installed that was just lazy they did an awful job I would go try and get this fixed immediately and try and get some money back “ I will be visiting this location to raise hell by the end of the week if I don’t hear back from uhaul.

The one thing that I'd suggest is to tell customers if the truck has cruise control and, if so, how to turn it on. I thought my truck did but never could figure out where the activate button was. If it did NOT have cruise -- please, please increase happiness by equipping trucks with cruise control. That's all. The location and service was very good.

There is a sign that says, "wait here with your equipment" but after 10 minutes, nobody had greeted me. When I walked inside, there were two men on their phones with their heads down. They said almost nothing to me and moved lazily. The receipt did not include any details about the transaction; only that I owed $0. Never (even in an email) did I ever receive an itemized receipt that broke down all expenses.

The staff at the Benton Harbor location is always polite and easy to work with. This is my favorite location to rent from.

Work out the bugs with your app/website/self pick up. The experience to secure the reservation, pay for the reservation, pick up the reservation was HORRIBLE. All of the systems are not in sync. Your systems to automate reservations and pickups/drop offs need a major overhaul. You need to do a better job at understanding the customer journey.

The employees didn't check back my rental trailer (that they helped disconnect) until 3 days later and they charged me for it. This is completely unacceptable. I'm now awaiting the reimbursement. I was told by customer service that I have 3 days until I'll receive a response and that direct contact with the location is not possible. I had started a self check in and was interrupted by an employee who helped me disconnect the trailer. If not for the interest free loan and the hassle of dealing with the corporate policies, this would've been a great experience. I am unlikely to trust or use uhaul as a brand again. I will avoid them like the plague.

The UHaul 24/7 was difficult to use and did not save us any time. We were told we could pick up the vehicle within the hour of our request. The App would not let us log in until 9 AM, our requested time, despite the instructions telling us to get there 10 minutes early to not cut into our moving time. We could not even access our reservation until 9AM. App not clear when cleared to drive away. We were left waiting for a phone confirmation that never came. When return vehicles, takes a LONG time to check in vehicle. Not impressed with mobile service, despite being told by website over and over it would be best for my reservation.

This was the easiest part of my move. Easy reserve and return. Nice vehicle condition. And the young man at the counter was patient, considerate and friendly while keeping things moving on a busy Saturday morning. He couldn’t have made this a more positive experience and I was really grateful for that on a stressful moving day!

Make sure that the customer can specify delivery locations even after the original order. We set up the storage location after the initial order, were told no problem, go to Benton harbor and they will have it delivered. Truck comes from GR and was told 7-10 days until delivery possible. GR ended up being able to deliver next day but it was a panic for us. All in all a good experience.

I use U-Haul quite often and aside from the confusion that can exist from which U-Haul you are working when shopping on the website, the whole experience was excellent. In and out and returned and discovered that the website analyzes your usage and adjusts the actual bill to give you the least expensive cost they offer. This is not the South and the desk customer service could stand some more friendly customer persona but business is fine too.

Unfortunately we discovered rodent pellets through most of our things. A lot of which was irreparably damaged as a result so NO I wouldn't recommend ANYONE patronize this establishment.
