First, assure that the location is adequately staffed. One person was completely overwhelmed by the line of people waiting when the business opened, all with reservations. Second, if pads and a dolly are not requested, do not secure them in the back of the truck. It causes an inconvenience for the customer to have to work around them. Third, I was charged for pads, even though I did not use them, had no need for them, and did not touch the bag they were located in.Randy C.

Your reservation system needs major improvements. Why bother allowing them if when a customer shows up at the correct time to pickup you've already given their truck away? Then be told you can't honor their reservation. This has happened on multiple occasions. Also why bother giving a quote with a reservation if the price day of is going to be a lot more??Jessica W.

Inform the driver how the advanced transmission system works; ie., how in Drive the driver only has to hit the brake and the truck will begin to downshift into a lower gear. The driver does not have to use the manual transmission stick to downshift.Robert B.
We had transmission problems with the uhaul, to the point where we lost overdrive, we stopped spent money on a hotel to let it cool down and then next day we have no overdrive and the passenger side wheel is screeching, got to the point we were doing 25 to 30 on a 80mph freeway, spent over 900 for uhaul rental and another 400 plus in gas to find out when we finally made it to destination that the truck we were in was sent out to be retired and wasnt suppose to be rented again because of all the mechanical issues it has, so i would like to know how exactly its ok to expect someone to pay 1500 or more in rental, gas and motel rental to be rented a vehicle of such poor mechanical standards, to gave the person tell me at the counter when i dropped off that it was suppose to be retired because of those issues and then to have issues when dropping off with storage at a uhaul facility then to charge me additional fees when i leave beyond upset, worst experience and to be honest not safe for anyone to be driving, my family and I are amazed that something more serious didnt go wrong, uhaul is lucky something more serious didnt go wrong, poor customer service all around, you dont rent out a vehicle that has known mechanical issues and is supposed to be retired!!Nicole L.

Don't tell them that they MUST buy insurance as I was. My car insurance would have covered the trailer. But I was told by the only employee working that day (a Sunday) that I HAD to buy insurance as they had recently had some totaled units. Since there was no manager, and I had to leave the next morning, I regrettably bought the insurance as I didn't see any other alternative if I wanted the trailer. I will find any other option than U-haul in the future.William K.

MANAGER LADY IS HORRIBLE, not helpful, doesn't listen to what you have to say. Cuts you off when you're talking and will kick you out the store for disputing an overcharge on a one day rental. Manager is very rude for no reason. and says "we have lots of people wanting their money back, divorces, angry people moving and i dont get paid enough for all this" so the managers take it out on customers just trying to move or rent a VAN for personal use. LOOK here Uhaul, i was just disputing a overcharge amount and the manager wasn't even trying to listen but got mad that she received a "complaint" my dispute was not a complaint but a request to speak to someone at the store, how ever way CS sends you the message learn to read it with a different energy. I was trying to speak to a manager who can see that they received our rented van clean and full of gas. but instead i received an angry bird of a manager mad at the world. TAKE A CHILL PILL and realize the business you are in (this message is for the rude manager in bountiful) your in the moving business. Be KIND TO PEOPLE, they may have lost someone and they need to move all their stuff, they maybe going through a divorce and are heart broken, they may have lost their job and need to relocate, they may have just bought a house and moving sucks. Manager charged me an extra $10 insurance vehicle on a VAN rented for one day. I called in to tell her this and she was very rude and accused us of having the rented van for 2 days. She should check her cameras before accusing me. Had an issue in January which she never resolved and decided to argue about that today. Very unprofessional. When I went the store to sort this out, see was RUDE and did not want to see my proof of receipts and chased me out the store. if she would stop talking and stop assuming she would learn that she was in the wrong for over charging us on a one day rental. This manager over charged us In January $50, shes stealing money and ignores customer when we come in to fix this. She says she submitted a refund, but customer service continues to tell us " REFUND note has been added but the refund request has NEVER been submitted on the store managers end". The vehicle wasn't clean, inside or out. It was covered in dirt and salt from the roads. The pick up was relatively easy though I thought I had paid for it on the phone already. There were some features of the truck that needed attention like the steering column (wouldn't adjust) and the passenger side seatbelt would lock up constantly. But I did not find these things until I had left the location so they didn't have a chance to give me another truck I would only recommend this spot if there were no other options. Cleaning a vehicle seems like the minimum standard for a rental. We actually thought it was an old vehicle but after we washed it up ourselves we realized it looked pretty goodMarrianne W.

General manager (Jen) is very rude at this location. We reserved a 26ft truck Friday 5pm through Sunday 5pm so we would have access to a truck on Saturday morning early without having to pick it up and get started on our move. When I showed up to get it the there was another truck in front of mine that had a dead battery and the employee could not get it started. He made the best of the situation and got me a 20 ft truck as that is all that there was on the lot. Saturday morning at 7:30 am I get a call/vm from Jen telling me that the truck I have needed to go out tomorrow at 11:30 to another customer and to call her back or if I don't I will be charged another $50 for my move for some customer service guarantee. We had people showing up to help us move and the whole reason I reserved my truck and paid for an additional 1/2 day was so I didnt have to deal with reserving this truck on Saturday or talk to anyone. My wife called her back for me as I was busy moving and directing people and and didn't have time to talk to her. She was very rude to us and when we even asked if we could bring it in and get one would be ready for us to take another one Jen told us that it was Saturday and they usually are busy so she couldn't make that promise. In all this talk I ended up talking to her and I explained the story from earlier and she got upset because she was talking to my wife and then to me and then back to my wife. She yelled at me saying â€œit's people like you who ruin thingsâ€ and â€œI don't need you or your wife bitching me outâ€ . And then at some point hung up on my wife. My wife than called the customer service number and filed a complaint with Sarah. And then within an hour I got another charge on my credit card $1242.10 for this 2 day truck rental. Once again we called the customer service rep to check on that and apparently Jen had now rented out the truck to us for two additional weeks.Adam S.

After making a reservation for a storage unit approximately 2 weeks ago to move in on the 30th of November I hadn’t received an email or any sort of confirmation. So I called the uhaul number for this location and it ended going into a national que where they had no sort of reservation set up for me to move in yesterday. So we drove down to the location where I placed the reservation and there was none. So Jen was able to find a unit that was available on the spur of the moment and got it ready to rent for me and I’m so thankful for her understanding and my frustration with the whole situation! A few weeks ago, had an experience when I rented a truck. I was disappointed that I had used the app to check in to save tons of time, yet ended up being shuffled from truck to truck for almost an hour while I had friends waiting. But it was business as usual, with no offer for free use of a hand truck or furniture dolley. Some kind of consolation would have been appreciated. I really like our storage unit and the ability to pay by automatic payment. But when you changed your policy to only accept a credit card and not debt I left because I do not want charges made on a credit card. All payments previously came out of bank account. I move out from their a week later. You list my business. Plus you didn't even notify me of your change and charged my account a $15.00 late fee. Way to go. So I thought my unit was paid. Moving can be a stressful time in anyone's life. I have moved dozens of times and used U-haul for all of my moving needs. This past Saturday, 5/1/2021, I was scheduled to meet the guys from Moving Help at 9:30 to unload the U-haul into a storage unit. Because the paperwork wasn't completed, I arrived at 9:00am at which time Jen Barker informed me that the system went down. There were people lined up in the store and U-haul trucks lined up in the yard for check-in...not surprising as this was the 1st of the month on a weekend. Jen and Brandon helped customers as fast as fast as they could using "old school" paper and pen methods. Jen couldn't use the computer to locate the unit I reserved, so we went looking for an available unit by foot. The process was time consuming, but not the fault of the U-haul team. We located the vacant unit and proceeded with paperwork, so the movers could unload the U-haul truck. Because the computer was down, every transaction took longer than expected, but Jen and Brandon were dedicated to helping everyone who walked in as best they could like pros, never rude and always polite and professional. We started using the storage unit in May 2020. We put this unit on autopay from my credit card. In August, I received an email stating that my payment was late. I called facility and asked about it. I was told to ignore it. I went to access my storage unit on Friday, October 9, 2020. I found a non-payment lock on it. I was told that a janitor had change the ownership to “John Doe”. It was explained that he was older, new and not very good with computers. I am still considering moving my belongings to another facility. I think it is extremely poor policy to allow a janitor to change a storage unit status and not to keep a historic record of storage unit ownership. The that helped me reestablish my storage unit were very apologetic, helpful and informative. I had a unit for one year. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The ONLY recommendation I might have is to give a way to create lighting within the unit. Like perhaps electrical outlets in the hallways or something. In a large unit, even bright flashlights aren’t enough.
