U-Haul seriously needs to overhaul or replace their trucks. This truck sounded like it was falling apart in reverse backing up just horrible hard to put into gear. Ridiculous.

Ronald CGreat people, good customer service. Weekend reservations can fill up fast, so get yours locked in. Minor issue was that my truck had a tire pressure system warning, probably had a tire swapped and didn't pair the sensor to the new truck. Tires were fine, but had to OK the error to see mileage. If they have an OBD2 reader, they could clear the error until they have time to pair the sensors again, but my truck came in right before my reservation so they didn't have time to do that.

CARRIE BCheck engine light was on gave us less then a quarter tank of gas and because we had to put gas in we paid more in gas then we did for the uhal itself there was a gas can just left on the back of the truck we got overall it was a bad experience with the truck and staff will try a different moving rental service next time

Thomas KI showed uo this morning for my reservation and was very embarrassed about a mistake I made and had to leave and come back again. No one made me feel stupid and when I came back they were very very busy with people being mean to multiple employees but as I was patiently waiting in line witnessing it all, every employee handled each negative interaction with positivity😊 everyone was very kind and helpful and it made my day stay postive and go very smoothly. RICHARD HI’ve had better experiences with this location, my only issue was when I picked up the rental truck the gas level was literally empty , it had “7” miles until empty on the dash. Recommending at the very least fill it to a quarter for a new customer. Nothing more stressful than looking for a gas station during the morning rush traffic ona empty tank and a lot of steep hills in the area.

MITCHELL SPicked up vehicle with claimed 3/8 of a tank of fuel. Actual gas level was empty. Had to have wife follow me to nearest gas station in case vehicle ran totally out of fuel. Put $40.00 of fuel immediately in the tank. Had 4 way flashers on and battery died, Had to jump start and keep vehicle running during rental period. Will be definitely considering using other services in the future.
KEVIN CThe steering on the truck had a lot of play in it. Very difficult to stay in my lane. Also, severe vibration between 20 and 40 mph. Engine made quite a few rattling sounds. I was hoping it would keep running. I mentioned to employee upon return. I was surprised the truck had 158k miles on it.

NICHOLAS OThe lock on the truck would not open by me, my daughter, or the 2 men moving. We messed with it and called the location 15 times for help. Noone would answer the phone all day Sat or Sunday. It is very frustrating. Had to drive back to the location and get them to unlock it. It is worn from weather. Should be unlocked when picked up to prevent this. Location should learn to answer the phone. The truck breaks are in need of repair. Sqealing very loudly. And I would check transmition. When is shifts into low gear going down mountain it sounds horrible. The guy up front is trying to be funny by saying he gave away our truck. Probably not a good time to make these jokes on stressful days of renters. Just saying. Then the truck was parked so close to the other truck I could not inspect properly and had to close the mirror so as I would not hit the other truck mirror. Very dirty and the tank was on empty. I have used Uhaul 20 times in my life and this was the worst.
VINITA GCorporate reservation for truck rental from Friday through Sunday. We went through the reservation 3 times. Friday pick up , rental location said my rental was for Friday only!.. corporate messed up again. Check engine light was on and truck seemed to use a lot of gas more than normal.
robert oThe cabin and cargo area were both dirty. The cargo area was muddy. The tank was only 1/4 full. I filled it to 1/4 from empty and it took 5 gallons. I took it back with well over 1/8 tank and they charged me for 8 gallons plus a $30 refuel fee that I have not had to pay the past two times I've used uhaul this year (2026). So I got charged $93 for being, at most, 2 gallons short on gas when I returned it. The truck I reserved wasn't ready when I got there so they swapped me to the dirty truck. I'm very unhappy about the extra charges I got hit with; they felt very predatory. I was also quite annoyed at the condition of the cargo area. I had to put my own tarps down over the entire floor so my things didn't get covered with mud.
MATTHEW LWe picked up the dolly, determined it was not usable in our situation and returned it within an hour. Uhaul was unwilling to refund us.

ANJILEATA HDesignate a parking area for customers. I had to park between U-Haul equipment. I was very satisfied with the ease of checking in and out. Although my mileage was low, I did put gas in the truck. Maybe you can figure out a way to compensate people for doing this. Overall, great service.

JAMES SI would expect the supplies that I ordered to be ready to go in the truck and if that is against policy, the staff should be aware of add-ons for customers to remind them to grab as they leave. If anything, just let them know to grab them if they ordered anything. Also, picking the vehicle up with an almost empty tank of gas was not professional

However as I pulled away I decided I better make sure the dolly was in back so stopped to check and found a homeless man sleeping inside.

DONALD TThis was a terrible experience. When we ordered the truck and trailer, you put it in for 3 hours away from where we wanted it. We requested Renton and you set it up for Bremerton. You only contacted me by text, and I was at work in southern Oregon and not the person picking up the trailer in Washington so they had no notice. Next, after numerous phone calls to get the straightened out, the first Renton site on 3131 n 4th street would not accept the credit card we had arranged because again I was still in southern Oregon and my husband and son were doing the moving. We had attempted to prepay it in Oregon but they would not. Next they would not accept cash. They were terrible/not helpful Finally, we still had to transfer everything to yet another U haul site (in Renton) to get the 26 footer and still drive 3 hours one way to Bremerton to get the trailer. The final site was very helpful and kind but the corporate and the first site were terrible. Returning the equipment in Oregon went well. I would not recommend Uhaul at this site. In fact, one of your representatives stated we should file a complaint and get some sort of refund or rebate. So I would like to hear back from regarding this. I do not mean with just a message saying something like " we are sorry you did not have a good experience." Moving between two states was difficult enough without all the extra stress you put on us. While I was at work the day we were attempting to pick up the van and trailer, it required almost 20 phones calls to get things arranged, 5 different trips to U hauls just to get the equipment arranged and picked up after we had ordered it the day before.
Chad HThe trailer we rented made terrible violent clapping noise when we pressed on the brake in our truck our truck was shaking and I hope out truck isn’t messed up because of it we let U-Haul know when we returned the trialor I hope this doesn’t happen to someone else it was really scary
RODNEY MEverything is great. We use UHaul occasionally for private use. If we can use the Kitsap Way UHaul everything will run smoothly. Always 100%
RITA VVehicle had check engine light and obviously had engine problems. They said they couldn't do anything about it, reset the code and had me use it anyway. They said it's a uhaul problem, and they aren't actually uhaul so they can't fix it. Driver side sun visor was broken and poorly 'repaired'. It just flopped around blocking the view and being annoying. Safety issue. And the biggest reason for 1 star rating is the new uhaul policy that requires I submit my picture to a facial recognition program. If I had any other option I would have walked away and done business elsewhere. But I was in a bind and didn't have time to look for a competitor (if there are any, pretty sure uhaul is a monopoly now). I would rate zero stars for this. Now that I know you force me to register with facial recognition programs I will never return to Uhaul. You might be a monopoly, but I will find other solutions and will encourage everyone else to do the same.
GARY HThe change oil soon light was on the whole time. The gas tank was absolutely empty with light on and line below E. Put $30 worth of gas in it. Brought it back just under 1/4 and got credited just over $3 for gas. Should have at least given me more for my gas. I really like the convenience of using U-Haul but sometimes it’s not worth it.

I noticed immediately after confirming the reservation that I was charged $89.95. I sent an email right then saying this was to be free and to cancel if there is a charge. As of 06/01/21 I have not received a response nor a refund for this amount. The storage unit was not used and is not going to be used, I did not want it if it was not free for the first month as advertised when I made the reservation.

They also called and said the lock (that we bought from their store) was not a valid lock and threatened to cut it. Just overall a bad experience. Thankfully there are laws in place that prevented them from throwing out my stuff.
Erik R | Overall ExperienceI began renting a storage unit at the end of April of this year; and since that time I paid every month by way of automatic debit. On at least one occasion the hinges of my door were tampered with; and I right away alerted the staff. (I was glad I chose the extra insurance in case of theft etc.) Throughout my time there many times I had to walk to the office and request they unlock the door during normal business hours; and found difficulty with my key-card working consistently. This was inconvenient as many times there were long lines and I got tired of waiting. When I was notified that my cost was increasing, and had moved to another location, I made the decision to exit and left the unit in good clean condition for which I have a whitness. After vacating the unit I spoke with the staff; and they retained my key-card; and issued a refund. Subsequently I received a late notice stating that I had not paid. I sent numerous emails and called to resolve the matter. By contract however, the truck rentals over the years has been helpful with easy transitions; and problem free service.

They did not seem to want to help. Lone was moving extremely slow, they had no urgency. Very I’m pleased. Everything was completed and done. Will not go back since they were not helpful not even on the phone when I was trying to set up moving help and storage and truck reservations.
