I booked my reservation weeks in advance (at a location close to my house, and at a time that was preferable) and the night before my move my reservation was cancelled with no notice. Absolutely pitiful customer service. Time and vehicle changed arbitrarily when we arrived (no consultation). Vehicle damaged; no interest in staff "Jessica" in documenting damage during check-out. Had to spend our time (which we paid for, as the contract had already been signed and the vehicle released to us) photographing all sides and interior to limit our liability. When we returned two hours early, we were offered an emailed receipt, but it has yet to arrive (a day later). Most businesses have successfully pivoted to support customers during Covid. Queensview seems to consider customers an annoyance.Paul H.

The workers there did there best to assist me and the UHAUL truck was useful but all the hassle prior to receiving my truck wasted my time and was very annoying. I initially reserved a van through the 24/7 truck service and when I went to pick it up I was told otherwise. I had to be in the phone with customer service for 30 mins before being redirected to the queensview location. I arrived to now get a van and was told that I needed a credit card and I only had my debit visa. Then when I tried using my parents credit card I was told I needed the physical card. I eventually was forced to upgrade to a truck to use my debit card. All of that took about 2+ hours and extra money spent on ubers on my end. But it worked out in the end so I'm not entirely mad. Why advertise for a $19.95 rental? When after you apply for the rest of the bare minimum like $15 protection charge and other shit I don't understand and is not layed out in plain language or shown before signing. The cargo van seemed clean and well maintained but , in fact, was dusty (inside) and didn't seem to have been wiped, vacuumed (I wiped the steering wheel, door panel, seat belt and dashboard (high contact surfaces) with disinfecting wipes and they were quite dirty).Jolly T.

My only negative woukd be I looked into a couple of the cargo vans and the cabs did not smell very good and were not clean - the seats had a lot of debris on them and had not been vacuumed. I did an online pickup and thought that it would be seamless. All the contrary. Your system required a confirmation from a contact right then, when this could have been done much earlier. I used Uhaul storage for years. In the last couple of years I did notice a change in the standards of cleanliness, but it wasn't poor, just not as well kept as it had been initially, maybe the pandemic had an inpact? The only issue was for mobile pickup, the keys were not in the lock box. Everything else on mobile worked - if there had not been someone at the location (or I had tried to do the pickup not during opening hours, then the mobile option would have not worked. The eventual costs ($201) were well above the original quote ($168) obtained both on the web site and from an employee at the location when we phoned ahead (for reference: 8 hours, 450 km, 9' cargo van). She was very nice to book the van for us, but the quote we received for the reservation did not match the website quote, but was instead the $19.95/day + km). When we came to pick up the van, the quote was now $208 for the same duration and kilometres. In the end, the charges did match the $109/day + $0.20/km + HST, but that is way more than the original quote from the web site and the employee at the location confirmed by phone (she probably just checked on the web site herself). I think the issue is mainly with the web site. For one, it confuses miles and kilometres. It also assumes the wrong number of hours and whether the driving will be in-town or out-of-town. (It also tries too hard to upsell other services, by pre-selecting some values instead of leaving at 0.) As well, it can be difficult to contest the existing damage on the rental. The original pictures that were offered of the vehicle are from much too far for the existing damage to be visible. Had to take a lot of pictures of various dings on the van, easy to miss some (especially inside), and upload the pictures (hard to check how visible they are as they remain very small in the on-line tool). These vans get used a lot, so they do end up with a lot of dings. Many were already marked with a little sticker. Nice. However, many quite visible ones were missing stickers. At least, we did not get a lot of hassles when we returned the van. Two days after the rental, I still have not received my bill confirming the details of the charges. So, in the end a few hiccups and misadvertized rates. Otherwise, easy pick-up and drop-off at that location. Unfortunate that the employees are not in a position to address the quote issue and can only work with "what the computer tells them".Pierre B.

We waited 25 minutes after our pickup time before we were able to interact with the only UHaul employee present. It turns out the delay resulted from the employee having to take calls in addition to dealing with processing bookings. The employee was the only staff present. This delayed ourselves and at least 4 other customers waiting in line. Furthermore, the information confirmed at the time of reservation did not appear to be in the UHaul system such that we had to correct the estimated mileage and other details as part of the truck pickup process. Thus delay could easily been avoided. The phone verification of pre- existing vehicle damage is also not very effective. The pictures are useless because of poor resolution - which resulted in further delay identifying non-recorded damage to the vehicle (2 areas on back of truck) before we could depart.noelle C.

My original reservation was extremely poorly managed at the address indicated below. I requested a self pickup only to discover that my reservation was logged as a hand delivery. This service was not available at this location and after 30 minutes waiting to speak with a customer service rep. I was told that I would have to travel across town for another van. Two other people were having the same issue at this locale and oddly one couple had also managed to book the same van I was there to pick up. The person who was on site offered no assistance other than to tell everyone waiting that there was a video we could access online to â€œlearnâ€ how to self check out. Very unhelpful. It took 2 hours after my scheduled pick up time before I was on the road. I requested a call back and my expectation is that I will see a reduction in the amount paid for my rental as well as an apology for the extremely poor service that I received. I'll reserve a final assessment of U-Haul for the time being. Melanie Hache (as well as the other employees I dealt with) was fabulous the entire year my items were at Britannia storage!!! I am extremely pleased with the service she offered me. From the very first day she helped me with the truck rental and then assisted me with finding a suitable storage locker that would hold my belongings. A month later when I need another unit, she was there to help again! Finally, over the course of the year she was accommodating and friendly in-person, over the phone as well as via email. We moved out of storage over the long-weekend in April and were please with the convenient hours and access into our units. During the onset of the pandemic we had to quickly empty one apartment and lease another not knowing if she would be returning to the campus in the fall.
