I made a reservation and asked for a loading ramp. The trailer I originally got was berried in snow. The trailer I received did not have dollies and frankly for my age and strength it was quite hard for me to pickup the trailer off of my car. There was only one turn signal and that is unacceptable to me. I have rented trailers and trucks from there before and this is the first time there was bad service. However I am going to look for a place that has dollies because I can't lift those trailers! Craig JacksonCraig J.

The ratchet straps kept coming loose and I had to pull over about 3-4 times on a 200 mile trip to get the car and come back.BENJAMIN E.
First off I was suppose to pick up my uhaul at 7am at the oak lawn location. After confirmation a week prior I hired movers for 9 am. The night before pickup I was called at 6 pm and notified that I was being upgraded to a larger truck and I couldn't pick up until noon. I tried to work this out with my moving company and did for 11 am but then on the way to oak lawn on pick up day I was called and told the person extended until 5 pm and to drive to Harvey to pick up the truck. On the way to Harvey I was called and told to go to orland park to get a truck, when I arrived in orland park they didn't have the proper truck. Then I called back and was told to go to the markham location. By the time I got my truck it was 2 and my movers I hired cancelled understandably with no refund due to a no show because I didn't have a truck! We then had to drive back to the oak lawn location to pick up a hitch. An employee who was smoking waved us in to park in the return Bay Area and by the gesture we assumed we were clear and we were indeed not. We clipped another customers car. At the oak lawn location the manger told me that this was all going to be taken care of and was covered under the insurance I purchased, to find out today that isn't true and I needed to call my insurance and if that was the case I would have asked for the police to document it properly. By the time this was all said and done I left uhual at 430 pm! Almost 10 hours after I was suppose to get the truck!! I had to hire more movers who then unfortunately had to load the truck during a blizzard. I am a planner and I've used you guys for years with all of my moves! I will never recommend someone to use this company again. I was so incredibly excited to move to Denver and the miscommunication and lack of planning on your employees cost me a lot of extra money I had to spend, I ended up being a day behind and ultimately getting stuck numerous times because he had to leave during the storm. If this was all sorted out and I picked up at 7 like originally planned things would have gone smother and a lot of this unnecessary incidences wouldn't have taken place. I will say the only positive review I have Is on the employee Montel at the oak lawn location. He tried the best he could to help me with the situation and is the only employee to have apologized at that location. The only other was the person at the markham location. He was very helpful as well. Again, you have A LOT to improve on and I will never use you guys again!SHANNON G.

I had a reservation for 9 am. I get there it's about 9:30 before anyone helps me once I finally do get help they tell me I have to hook the trailer to their truck, I didn't want to but I did it turns out that wasn't the right trailer so I have to unhook that one go get another one and then hook it up just to be told that the first trailer was the correct one. I ended wasting an hour of my rental time basically doing the work of their employees . I probably will not use this location again.Keimanie P.

The doors to the storage units were very weak and flimsy. They can easily be kicked in even with a lock on. The wait time for service was often very long in the office and the man at the desk made many errors at check-in that caused him to restart my transaction multiple times before finalizing. Staff were short with their answers and would walk away when trying to ask them questions or get clarification. Lastly, I was not able to reach anyone via phone at the office and was routed to the main uhaul number every single time causing me to have to find time to come in before they close at 7 PM which I never had time to do to ask simple questions that were never answered. At check-in, I asked for 24/7 Access and was told the computer wasn't working properly and that I would be able to add that later. I was never able to reach anyone by phone and when I did come down one day an associate told me she would add 24/7 Access to my unit, but didn't. Dealing with uhaul for my out of state move has been a very miserable experience from truck rental in CT, to storage in Illinois to truck rental in Illinois. Staff are rude and practices are not transparent leaving the customer feeling uneasy. I would never deal with uhaul again and I will ensure no one I know deals with you either.
