This location refused to give me the veteran discount that U-haul offers. He said, "We're no where near a military base." FYI- Fort Drum is about 30 miles away from this location. Additionally, I was charged a fee for extending my reservation. Normally this would be acceptable, however, a corporate representative told me (via phone call 12/2/21 @ 9:11am) that I could have a no-cost extension because the equipment was already rented and I would not be able to extend my rental for a full 24hrs. So, we agreed on a no-cost extension to 9:30am the next day, and she said that she would add a note on my account about the veteran discount.Robert H.

I reserved a 6 x12 trailer at one location. I received a call later that day and was told the only trailer they had available was over an hour away and only a 5 x 10. I agreed to use that trailer as I had no other option and requested to drop it in my hometown. When I tried to drop the trailer at a location different from where I picked it up I was informed there was a charge for 3 times my rental if it wasn't delivered back to where I picked it up from. After calling U-Haul customer service they were unwilling to help and as a result I had to drive over an hour once again just to drop the trailer back off. Very disappointed in the customer service team and reservations teams at U-Haul. Will do everything I can from now on not to have to rent from them.PAULN J.
The pick up of the trailer was great no problems the ride to here was very good no problems and the delivery date was very good it gave me time to unpack and to bring over the rest and no hurry to get the trailer back on time but plenty of time to get settled when I got there to u-haul the storage clean and will be heated and cool in the spring and summer I really like that thank you so much for making my trip a success.kathleen l. | First Impressions

This is a great drop off location. Used the mobile check-out system and I noted that there was a duplicate charge for 2nd day rental and safe move. Canton staff member fixed the issue and correctly charged me the extra mileage. I'd definitely rent from this location again.Ivan K.

Location is always horrible and if any of the other locations had availability I would use them. I called to change my reservation and it went right to the corporate number. I was told I could drop it at any location. I called the next morning to verify my drop off location. I was then told I had to bring it back to that location. So instead of having a one day one way rental I had to drive my truck with a tow dolly attached through the city for 2 days and drive it home. I feel like I should have been able to keep it for only one day.ERICAA L.

Kyle and Matt went above and beyond when we showed up yesterday due to our van breaking down-as we were bringing our daughter to Clarkson University! They not only helped get us into a van so that we could get her to school but they helped with AAA and connecting us to a garage that could fix our van. Matt and Kyle are top-notch and UHaul is lucky to have employees such as them that show that amount of car, concern and effort to help customers. We were not given the 12 furniture pads we paid for. After trying to call twice and being on hold for a half hour, I finally got a hold of someone at the store. He said he forgot, he didn't look at our invoice. He didn't offer any compensation, he said 'you can come back here and get them'. Well that was 45 minutes 1 way, and we needed to pack that night. I asked if there were any located near us, he said he could not look that up. He said he could give me a refund for them, but then he tried to in his system and he said he was not able to give me a refund, (but we needed them anyway). While I was explaining to him how much an inconvenience this was I got 'disconnected' from him, twice, and when I tried to call back the 3rd time he did not answer. I called customer service again and they found a location close to me with pads, but we had to pay for those also. When we went to get them, they were stored at a tobacco shop in Hogansburg and they smelled like smoke. What can you do?#1 Give your employees training on how to be professional and if they're not then they need consequences #Teach them how to make things right and make sure the customer is satisfied. #3 Give them the authority to give credits on orders that are already completed, he was not even able to give me a refund on an item that I did not receive. #4 Make sure they do their job and check the tickets/ invoices to ensure customers are leaving with all of the items they paid for. #5 Record the phone calls that are local too, I think he hung up on me twice and then did not answer the 3rd time. #6 Make your wait time shorter on the customer service line. #7 Give employees the ability to check the inventory other stores, or tell them they need to call other stores for people. I had to jump through hoops to figure out how to fix his mistake. #7 Make sure all the customer service reps on the main line are friendly and helpful, and make things right. A person I talked to about the pads missing, who found them at a new location, said that we would not get any credit off of our bill for the inconvenience, gas money spent, time wasted etc.. She did not seem to care at all. #8 Send out a memo to all the employees about who does what. I was told by local stores that customer service were the only people that could give credits on bills, I was told by customer service that they local reps are they only ones that could give credit on bills. After I told customer service this, they said they get told that all the time. Well no one is giving the right messages and someone is always passing the buck and telling the wrong information to the customers. All they could finally say in the end was 'tell them when you drop off the trailer.' Also, in the beginning of this debacle, I called customer service because I originally scheduled the trailer to be picked up in Massena, and they told me later on my voicemail that week that it was not available at that location, that we would have to drive 45 minutes away. I tried to call back and talk to someone about it and I was on hold for 20 minutes, and then 1 minute before they closed someone picked up the phone and hung up on me, and of course when I called back no one answered because it was closed for the day. I called back the next day and was hold for approximately 25 minutes before I finally got to speak with someone.Beth P.
