Nothing. The attendants were extremely helpful. When I arrived, they helped me switch my reservation from a 20' to a 15' truck. After dropping it off, the attendant was great too. Went back the following morning because I forgot my ez-pass. Both attendants searched everywhere and eventually found it. Great experience all around!!Jason P.

Other than the long wait (long line) everything went fairly well. There was a problem with the equipment but staff remedied it. Manager did make person who was assisting me (he was wonderful, the man hooking up my trailer that is, not necessarily the manager) go clean another vehicle before he was done with my rental process, that took an additional 15 minutes. So I was there for about 45 minutes either waiting in line or waiting for checkout. Giving 4 stars just based on the gentleman that checked me out, he deserves 5 stars but you didn't ask that.Rene H.

I had a TERRIBLE experience at the Albany location. Reserved a truck two days prior and when I got there to do the mobile pick up I started looking around for the truck and realized they had given it two another guy standing there. They gave the keys to my truck away before I could even get to it. Then had to stand in line for 45 minutes to even speak to someone. While standing in line I realized they had done the same thing to two other families that same day/time. Then when we finally were able to speak to someone, they said they had no trucks left and if we wanted one we had to drive to COHOES to get one. It was 10 miles out of the way! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! The guys at the Cohoes location were very helpful, but the Albany location is just straight up terrible. If anything, go to Cohoes and not Albany and you'll save yourself a headache.lauren M.

There was two very serviceable workers out to please customers the other were rude and liked to stare then we got yelled at for using the garbage dumpster telling us they'd have to charge us a 100$ fee and we were picking up a accidentEJ B.

The dolly and blankets were not in truck as expected. The service man inside was helpful, the gentleman outside said your truck is over there pointed and said you can carry your blankets and dolly to it.Danielle M.
I told the person when I picked up my truck that I would be bringing it back after 3 and he said that was fine and went through where the key drop was. Then at 4 someone called me and told me I had till 4:30 to bring it back or I would be charged these enormous charges. He was extremely rude. There has to be a better way to deal with the gas tank level part of the equation when renting a truck instead of it being up to the customer to dispute the amount stated if need be only before they leave the lot. With all the technology & automated processes involved, I can't believe it to be so antiquated. It was a busy Monday morning & only 1 person was working the desk. But I just accepted it & waited my turn because it seems COVID has affected every business in 1 way or another. And as I turned to leave, a crowd had gathered behind me. My issue is with being told the gas tank was at 7/8s when in reality it was below 3/4s. Because of the time I had to wait, I was running late & had to get back home right away to meet the movers. I didn't check the tank level until I was in traffic. And I wasn't going to turn around to go back inside with that mostly maskless crowd even though I was wearing one. So I took a couple of pictures of the dashboard with my cellphone because I knew there would be a date & time stamp. I figured once home, I would call the store's phone number I was just given to speak with the guy behind the desk who had just took care of me. Little did I know that the phone would just ring & no one would pick up. That my call would just rollover to the toll-free number & the automated voice would tell me the wait to speak to someone would be 20 minutes. Again, because of the movers, waiting 20 minutes wasn't an option. But I had the pictures. So before I returned the truck, I did put gas in the tank. For the 18 miles in total that I drove it. I filled it to the 3/4s mark when it was actually below that when I picked it up. The return of the truck was with someone different & I explained everything that transpired earlier. And I mentioned the cell phone pictures. He didn't ask to see them & adjusted the information in the system. But he also lightly admonished me for next time to not leave the lot without saying something about the gas tank level. So again, here's the thing - if you want the system to be smooth, automatic & automated with even being able to return the truck after hours - fix this antiquated part of the system. And don't admonish & try to train customers when the failure is on your end. If I was told the gas tank was at 7/8s, it should have been 7/8s. Don't train me as to the right way to call your mistake to your attention. I am the customer paying for the service. If there's a next time, no matter how many other customers are waiting - I will insist that the person behind the desk comes outside to the truck with me to verify the gas tank level since it was made clear to me it is an important part of the equation factoring what I will ultimately be charged. How does that sound? Because I will not be trained to catch your mistakes in just the right way at the right moment, or otherwise I am out of luck.MAUREENANN M.

Dropped off the truck after hours, didn't have my phone to fill out return questionnaire. Emailed customer service explaining my situation and they were helpful. Couldn't reach store location by calling U-Haul customer service line, was directed to common line with a 25+ minute wait time. What will customers do if they don't have their phone at drop off locations or choose to log in after truck is dropped off? Make sure that the key is working on all truck doors. I rented a truck and the key did not open driver's side door only passenger door, I told the rep before leaving and he told me to remind him when I bring the truck back to make sure he puts in an order for a new key. The USB was not working. It took a few phone calls and lots of my time and no one could help. I was given a power source USB adapter by the Uhaul on Hamburg Street in Schenectady. That didn't work either...and then it did on the 4th day. The truck was filthy and reeked of pot. I wiped it down with Lysol wipes. There was grease in the cup holders and in other holders in the console.Lynne V.

I was overcharged for the rental by $20 and they tried to claim I did not bring the truck back at 7/8 Full (which I did literally 250 yards down the street at Cumberland Farms. They then charged me $9.50 for 2 gallons of gas when I know I filled it 7/8 full. Did not listen to a word when questioned and I was told not their problem, but mine. Truck was not at promised location at Saratoga self storage and had to pick up at Cohoes uhaul with no prior call to tell me the change. Truck was not cleaned. It had mud splatter on the inside of the door panels cigarette ashes all over it. Windshield was filthy inside. Mud covered wheels and tires. As a former manager of this same location I was astounded by the condition of not only the vehicle but the store was also disgraceful. The displays were not in order the counter area was cluttered and the floors looked like they haven't been cleaned in months. I wiped the interior down and took the truck through the car wash but when returned they simply checked it in and just parked it in line. No cleaning or fluid checks were done as they should have been. As I was there they pulled other returned trucks around from the return lane and sent them out with no cleaning or proper check-in process preformed. Both employees were hanging out in the employees breakdown for no reason. They should be preforming proper level one inspection along with stocking and cleaning the showroom and storage area and keeping the appearance and safety of the trucks according to your company standards...DAVIDTORRENCE M.

I showed up at my 8:30pm pick up time (contactless pick up) and there was no truck available. Someone did come out to let me know that I would need to come back in the morning to pick the truck up. I arrived the next morning to pick the truck up and the lady told me there was none reserved in my name (even though I had an email confirmation). She then had to direct me to a different location to get a truck. I signed up with U-Haul and placed this order a month in advance to avoid headache. This was also a location that guaranteed a truck when booking with them. That was not the case.ASHLEY P.

I tried to get a hold of the U-Haul location, in cohoes, to let them know I forgot my glasses in the van that I had rented.. however it said the wait time to speak to somebody was over 55 minutes! I was paying an Uber to get out of there so I could not come back and need to let them know my mother can come on Thursday to pick them up for me! Hello, I hate to write negative reviews but feel like feedback would be helpful. I rented a UHaul truck from NYC to Uhaul Cohoes. The representative on the phone told me I could use their climate controlled storage with one month free. She said the unit was on the ground floor. The unit i received was not only on the second floor but it was only accessible by these mobil "staircases". The staircase was falling apart and had no railing at the top which was extremely dangerous. To add, the unit was probably 90 degrees inside. I was looking forward to a nice convenient end to the moving trip but this was pretty unfortunate. Thought it would help to share. Thank youcainaaan l. | First Impressions
