Place is great.. parking is tricky. Have to cross busy road.
Nicole Y.service was poor. I felt dismissed in my concerns. The truck had issues, the sun-visor kept falling down, there was no gas in the truck (though they insisted there was half a tank), the fuel gauge was broken and I waited forever to be waited on. I was supposed to pick-up the truck at one location but the day before was told I had to go 15 miles to this location instead. They have no parking spaces for renters so I had to take a taxi to get there. A very unpleasant experience overall.
pasquale L.I told my company that Uhaul was never a good idea, but they made me try it again anyway. I was proven correct and now everyone knows that Uhaul will never be considered again. Two things: your employees arrive late and then your app doesn't work properly. Enterprise is 4 times the price, but I'd rather spend the extra money than feel as if my time doesn't matter. The employees were "nice", don't get me wrong, but to just show up almost 20 minutes late two visits in a row and on one of them the employee forgot his keys and then blamed it on another employee (who 4 customers had to wait an additional 20 minutes for this employee to deliver said keys) is just insulting. If your employees are gonna arrive late, at least apologize, and then maybe give us a discount for the inconvenience. Don't just act like it isn't happening. Furthermore - Uhaul is a huge company. For the love of god, just pay your employees a little more so you don't have to staff your locations with the very bottom of the work force barrel. Enterprise is something like 4 times the price! How bad does your customer service have to be to make me want to go with them from now on?

Truck ramp was broken, picked up another truck, lost 2 hours on moving day but was told because of the inconvenience I can return the truck in 24 hours since the time working truck was picked up and then they charged me for extra day and again for dollies. Manager promised to remove charges but didn't do it. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.
ALEXANDR K.An argument broke out between the manager and a customer while i was there. The manager unnecessarily escalated the situation and it got physical. The customer was in the wrong, but the manager made it worse. I was also not told I had to pick up my own pads, I had ordered an appliance dolly and they gave the last one to the guy in front of me who had ordered a utility dolly but they didn't have that so they gave him mine. Movie with no dolly when you think you are going to have one is not ideal. Had to go to LOWES and buy a small dolly and made the best of it.
Amanda W.Staff were friendly and helpful. Also accommodating of my time. Keep that spirit. One thing that could improve is when I first showed up, I had a hard time finding a person to talk with. Also I did not know exactly which door I needed to enter the building. It all worked out though so no big deal.
Andy B.The staff was fine, they deserve a raise because I was MAD. You booked a reservation with me for a rental unit. I drove 700 miles with a truck full of stuff, I hired movers (through your site) to show up at the storage unit and unload. The staff on site told me when I got there my reservation was 'a spot on the waiting list' when the email from corporate said it was confirmed. It all seemed set up, easy peasy, but it was incredibly stressful. If it's not a reservation, don't call it that. If I need to call ahead and confirm, tell me that. It was lack of communication from Corporate that made your poor staff on site miserable. Lock it up.

Nicholas B.I went to the location where I reserved a rental and they didn't have my truck. They sent me to another location far away but they were closed. I stopped by a third location because I couldn't get anyone on the phone and they sent me to a 4th location where all they had was a bigger truck. No one was behind the counter for a very long time and other customers were walking off with merchandise without paying since they were fed up with the wIt. The truck I got was not very clean and had a hole in the gas tank so as I tried to add gas it only spilled out onto the pavement. I tried to report this to the folks working behind the counter but they locked the door on me and refused to speak to me and insisted that I put my keys in the dropbox. At this point my phone had died and I didn't know that there was a process to check out that I couldn't access because my phone had died since there's no phone chargers in the U-Haul truck or outlets and I had been on the phone all morning trying to find my truck. I ended up being three hours late to meet my crew that I was paying to do the move. Which cost me a lot of time and money. I wouldn't recommend uhaul to anyone.

Johnny C.When we got there the agent was stocking stuff in the shop and asked us to wait. While I usually don't mind waiting, more people came in after us and she still kept stocking rather than assuring the customer. After getting the truck and packing it up, we got on the road. Not even 30 minutes after we left, one of the back dial tires blew out on the interstate. It took almost 45 minutes to get through to roadside assistance, and then it took over 4 more hours to get the tires changed. Turned out the truck needed 3 new tires I order to be safe. 1 blow out and two more tires showing wires through the tread!! That is NOT SAFE!

Janet B.4+ hours to do the work and lunch! I got my truck back after work was completed and I found that my fuel gage was at Empty and I had a little over 1/2 a tank, or about 15 or so gallons! My first thought was they unhooked something by mistake, but no! After showing to a couple of their guys out in the lot of U Haul and asking the installer what if questions about my fuel gage, no real help! I brought it up to the manager, Jon Mark Barrows and in his arrogance and Snugness of his answers were totally unappreciated !! So as I now leave the U Haul and get to the first fuel station and placed 20 dollars of fuel in my Mark LT, I now have 1/16 of a tank of fuel!! At 4.19 per gallon! My question was who syphoned the fuel out of my truck! I got away from Asheville and found fuel at 3.99 a Gallon and filled my truck, 82.00 usd!! When I returned home that evening, I called the manager and told him it was a blown fuse that was my failure so as I has no evidence that I lost 1/2 of a take of full other that my word. And as my wife would tell anyone. 1/4 of a tank is empty and fill car!! She don't follow what I say much as her Jeep has seen the yellow light some!! On top of all of this as I walked in to the office to has my service done, the place smelled of POT!! Big time, and I really don't care what you do on your time, but Just saying!! Now for the wiring which looked like a 5th grader did it! I noticed it as I walked by the ball hitch on my Mark Lt and the 7 way plug was REALLY loose!! and had lost one of the screws from it's mount. After repairing the lost screw and looked under the Frame mount and the Wad of extra wires stuffed up around my spare tire!!and not mounded to anything!! Other that the tire! Addressed the issue!! Not to knock a 5th Grader, but I have seen better wiring from one!! I have taken my truck to this same place about 7 tears ago and had the the same type of project done to it and done Very Well and in i/2 the time! Don't know what changed, but Never Again!! I would NOT Use This Place!!!! G

Robin W.Truck was incredibly outdated and very noisy. No cruise control, gas guzzling, too much play in steering wheel, shaky, just all over awful. We've rented from other moving truck companies in the past that were far better. Normal wear and tear is expected. But this was a little ridiculous especially for the price.
Anthony S.I reserved a uhaul online and everything was confirmed for pickup at 10am. The morning I was supposed to pick up the uhaul, my reservation changed to 12pm. Thankfully the person working was able to give me a different uhaul but it had to be back in a lot less time than I originally booked my uhaul time for. I was able to move everything and get it back on time but it was a bit stressful and hectic to try to return everything in the small window timeframe. When I returned the uhaul, the worker was very helpful with helping me get it checked back in. The reservation system online should not let you confirm a time if a uhaul isn't available, maybe the system should be checked for bugs or errors. Glad to have competent, friendly workers that were helpful and accommodating to me!

Matthew G.Although an employee was outside when we arrived, he did not greet us. He looked at us and went back to what he was doing. We went inside and the wait took some time. They told us to pull around back and meet someone, but the directions weren't clear and no one was there. When we did find the person and explained we weren't sure where to go, he didn't say anything and didn't smile. Unfriendly location.
Jennifer H.It's a nice location but there was only one employee available when we checked the truck back in. He was way too busy as trucks were rolling in every few minutes. I felt bad that he was overwhelmed but when we needed help with the app to check out, but he couldn't help us at all. He did have a minute to tell us that we would be charged for the extra mileage on the truck. We told him that we were guaranteed no cap on the mileage. He basically ignored my husband and led us to believe that he was simply going to ignore the paperwork we showed him saying unlimited miles. Two days later we got a charge for the additional miles over 137. The only reason we went over 137 (which we were NEVER told about - we were always told that we would have unlimited mileage with our rental) was that UHAUL did not honor the reservation I had made. We had a reservation to pick up the truck in Knoxville, TN. on Saturday, March 26th. No one ever called me to confirm our rental so I called on Friday to make sure our rental truck for Saturday was going to be ready. We were supposed to pick up the truck from 5610 Middlebrook Pike in Knoxville. They told us they didn't have any trucks and that they would be closed on Saturday. They called the reservation center and were told there were a shortage of trucks in Knoxville. They said someone from the reservation center would call us. After an hour, I called the reservation center because no one had called me. I asked if there were any trucks anywhere close to Knoxville on the East side. We were driving through and could pick one up. The only place they had a truck available was Dandridge, TN. The reservation Center's agent confirmed that we would not be charged for mileage. She knew that we would be adding over 60 miles to our trip because we had to pick this truck up way outside of Knoxville. We are not going to pay for mileage when we are the one's who did U-Haul a favor by going way out of our way to pick up a truck outside of Knoxville, because U-HAUL made a reservation error. We had to spend a lot more money for fuel because of the extra miles we put on the truck AND the fact that the truck was approximately 1/4 of a tank short on fuel when we picked it up. We are absolutely not going to pay and additional mileage charge as well. We need this $29.75 reversed off my charge card please.
Scott B.Had an appt scheduled for 7am, the store didn't open until 8. The store VM still said they opened at 7. Then I tried to do the share, but the app wouldn't work. Two texts and a VM to the GM got no response. Spent 45 minutes on hold with Customer Service, ultimately gave up. The store opened at 8:15.

Samir L.They did not have any blankets. They sent me to a second location (20 minute drive) which also had no blankets. Apparently no call ahead to check. The second location found me some blankets, at a 3rd stop 2 miles away.
JACK E.The tow strap (secured by Uhaul staff) came off during the drive; the reservation location was changed without consent and the phone customer service center was completely unempathetic about it. Also, Uhaul does not have any in person support for returning equipment. We experienced difficulties using their online return link (it requires internet and location abilities - due to the fact that we were moving we didn't have those capabilities). It's not the clerks fault that the company gives them no way of in person returns but it definitely soured the experience further. Very frustrating.

The surly manager would charge up demanding to know if I used my card. I told him yes I had just like last time he asked. He said he was just making sure policies were followed. This was ironic since he refused to EVER wear a mask despite city and company policies calling for him to wear one like most of the other staff. This was like walking in to see him flipping both middle fingers at those who wear masks. I got tired of it and closed my unit down early. We have options and you should take your storage business to places where they care. They will use short staffing due to Covid no doubt, but that wouldn't explain refusal to care about the health and safety of customers.

After the most recent email talking of collections and liens I called again and finally spoke to a service agent elsewhere. The bill was taken care of but I still have not heard a word from manager at the facility. Not a good experience.
