Drop off went perfect
Walter MI logged in through the app. It gave me a truck number, and I found the truck in the parking lot, but when I went to the counter to get the key, the people there were confused didn’t know where the keys were told me that the truck wasn’t even there, but it was. This is my third or fourth experience where it’s complete chaos at a U-Haul location. I was even asked by the guy at the counter to go take a picture of the lock on the truck and come back with a picture. Really bad customer service.

Christine EThe truck was clean. However: 1.) The front and rear tires didn't have much tread on them. Borderline bald. The truck rode rough -- even on smooth roads! 2.) A front-end alignment should have been fixed. The wheel was not at 3 and 9 o'clock. I had to hold the wheel at about a 20-degree angle to drive straight. This also contributed to a rough ride. 3.) I think due to the steering issue -- my left thumb is bothering me. It is numb and has not gone away over the past week. 4.) The pick-up location should have pointed out the driving with full-load setting on the truck. 5.) The pick-up location should have informed me that the insurance coverage was in a pocket between the driver's and passenger seats.

ed VThe employees were super nice and helpful. The requirement to use the app or website for checkout and checkin are terrible. I have used Uhaul for a dozen rentals over the last few years, and if there was another competitor, I would use them just for this reason. The technology doesn't have to make my life easier, but it shouldn’t make it harder— and this is coming from someone who previously worked in IT.

JULIE GThe alarm on our unit went off every time we opened the unit because the room number was entered incorrectly by the front office. He said it wasn’t a big deal and couldn’t fix it. I also heard others alarms going off when I was there but everyone ignores. What’s the point of an alarm system if it’s ignored every time?

Kevin SMegan and Mark was great but it was not utitlity dolly thats what i requested. Then the first truck we got, the summary sheet the gas hand was not mark the same as on the odometer, it wasn't no gas in there so please check that before entering and driving off with a truck. then I had to switch into another truck and thinking that I had a dolly in there and it wasn't so I should of checked but I already went back in 3 times and the process is slow. I didn't know I didn't have a dolly to I got to my desination. So moving was very hard. I kept calling like 15 times no lie and I kept getting put on hold. FInally talk to Mark he was trying to compensate me somehow but will see soon. the process was slow and didn't have what I needed, hopefully next process will be better

Appreciated the flexibility to extend our rental as we had a medical emergency in the family that caused us to have to modify how and when we moved things. The van is a great choice for moving things - it holds a great deal, is quite easy to drive and fits in our driveway.

Lisa DAll I did at this location was drop off the trailer. The person there was friendly and got the trailer unhitched and me on my way quickly. If I have a negative comment it would be for the traffic/reservation experience. I requested a pickup site nearby my house but was redirected to another site farther away. I went there only to find they couldn't complete my pickup, so I was redirected to the site I'd originally requested. Wasted over an hour of my time for no apparent reason.

John HMy overall experience was satisfactory, but I did experience an issue regarding the fuel level at pickup and return that I am still waiting to have resolved. When I picked up the vehicle, the fuel level was below the expected half tank. I made sure to return the vehicle with more than half a tank and provided photo documentation to clearly show this. Because I returned the vehicle with more fuel than I received, I requested that the account be reviewed for the appropriate credit. I submitted my documentation and followed up promptly, and I also spoke directly with management to help ensure the matter could be reviewed fairly. At this time, more than 24 hours later, I have not yet received feedback or resolution. I value professionalism, fairness, and clear communication, and I am hopeful this matter will be resolved appropriately. My intention is simply to ensure the account reflects the actual fuel levels at pickup and return and that the proper credit is applied.

Linda WEmployee had my name wrong even while holding my id. Trailer had no jack to lift off vehicle. Had to get someone to remove trailer from truck after hours. Location kept harassing me about picking up another trailer even when the first trailer was not returned yet. Won’t ever use uhual again. Still need to rent a trailer but will use Penske for it.

DERRICK R | First ImpressionsI’d have given this 5 stars, except that our two interior units were located quite a distance from the interior lighting motion sensors & the times we’d be working in them, attempting to locate specific items or reorganize, the lights frequently went out, causing fairly complete darkness. That required a long trek back to the motion detector - in order to turn the lights back on. That created an unsafe & unnerving situation for us. Timers need to be adjusted or additional motion detectors need to be installed for people using lockers located far in the back, distant hallways. We also attempted to call the dealership multiple times in the 5-6 months we rented the two large lockers & no one ever answered the phones, ever. Also, although most of the office staff was polite & helpful, several of “the guys” weee not as respectful or polite as they should have been. In fact a couple of times either no one was even in the office area or they were curtains or rude, for no reason. I gave it 4 stars because it was clean (although we found evidence of mice or rodents when we vacated), it was dry, secure & accessible when we needed it to be. We also appreciated the restroom being clean & accessible.

We couldn’t get in the 2nd floor door. So we went back downstairs and couldn’t get in the 1st floor door LOL. I guess we could have gone out the emergency exit but me being the cheapskate I am I didn’t want to pay the $50 fine. I called the office and told the guy we were locked in the stairwell because we couldn’t use the elevator. He said he would be right there. We waited. And waited. Then we heard him say I am coming. Hang tight or words to that effect but then we realised he was talking to the elevator. He thought we were in the elevator!!! We banged on the door and yelled. We could hear him in the distance yelling we will get you out etc etc. Then we heard the sirens. My daughter and I both said the F word at the same time. We yelled and yelled and banged on the door some more. Finally your dude came and opened the door. We were mortified. Apologized to all the firefighters trying to open the closed elevator and left. So. For future reference, would I have been fined for escaping through the door because we were locked in?

No one answers the phone or responds to emails but they still want to send out demands for payment. Such a headache and wouldn’t use this location again.

The trailer is hooked up to my truck so obviously someone had to put it there. She was badgering me as if I had stolen it and then returned it because she couldn’t find it in the system. She had to get another employee to pull it up on the phone And found reservation …disheartening ! She needs better manners.. people skills, or maybe just work on her approach and manners… The way she came at me, what happened? it appear that U-Haul condoms this type of behavior…

The people were really nice and it was a quick process

The website shows a Medium 10x10x10 interior unit available on the 2nd floor for $114.95/month. We completed the contract and then I received an email confirmation but it gave two unit #'s which I found to be strange. When I called, I was told that it is one unit it just has two doors. I thought.. hmm okay. We get to the unit to move in, to find they gave us two 5x10's instead of the 10x10 that we requested. This didnt work for us as we spent several hundred dollars on shelving to go inside the 10x10. When we brought this to their attention, we were told that the 10x10x10 is $165/month and we could transfer to that unit for that price. They refused to honor the signed contract based on the information the website is showing. We also informed them that the website is showing $114.95. The website has not been changed so it is still reflecting a price that is incorrect. Other people will also be mislead by this. The service was sub par.

Yashesh P | Overall ExperienceI had placed my reservation online from home and went to go access my unit at the address provided, and one older nice gentleman told me that it was actually up the street. Not a big deal, so I continue up the street and I put in through the access gate and drive and drive and don’t see any units that even come close to my unit number. They have this blue office building that I assumed was like the “main” building for that area but the entrance door was locked. We drive back and I’m explaining to the younger guy with sunglasses on at his desk that there is NOT a unit with my number over in that area. He assures me it is but can’t give me an exact answer on where. We go back up the street and the young guy is there and he goes and opens this white back door tucked away in the back and reveals that the “storage” is just this poorly made wood shack that I’m expected to think is worth the amount I paid. I expected to have like…. A normal U-Haul unit…. This was beyond words. Very creepy and just overall ignorant/false advertising. The young guy had such a smug personality, it just ruined my perception of the company. This location seriously needs to be audited by a district leader.

I had to escalate an issue with online payments just so I wouldn't keep getting charged late fees since I no longer live in the area. .my move out date says 8.9.23, but that's wrong i spoke to a lady on 7.1.23 and informed her that I would no longer be renting from them since my items in the unit smell like smoke because there were people living in the unit next to mine. She never updated my account for close.

My only complaint is I was in 1190 and the light wouldn’t stay on while I am in the storage, the timer would shut off every 5 minutes and there was no motion detector close to my unit so I would have to walk in the dark the long length of the hallway or try to use my cell phone flashlight. This was very dangerous as much as it was inconvenient, mainly if someone were in the facility to harm me and knew there was no motion sensor on that side. I do want to commend the employees for their prompt, gracious and knowledgeable attitudes toward me as a customer . This was a tremendously overwhelming time for me and their kindness and strength, their servants hearts made all the difference. Madison was my rock, courteous, a true team leader and genuinely passionate person when it came to representing U-haul and its products! I have always had great faith in U-haul and its products including the fleet you offer to assist with moves, your manageable prices and your call center support team. Keep it p U-haul you always impress me!!!

Possible allowing the use of Bluetooth or NFC to access gates and or check in/out. Just a small feature that makes public storage slightly more pleasant to store at. Typing in a code is a bit outdated but wouldn’t keep me from using U-Haul, just increase user experience.

We bought our first RV and went to back it up into the spot. As you can imagine, we didn’t know what we were doing.
