The staff at this location are helpful and considerate. The trucks are in excellent shape. My only complaint - and it is a big one - is with the app. This is not a location/local issue, it is a U-Haul corporate issue. The app is labyrinthine and buggy. I only rent about once a year but each of my experiences with the app have been horrible. Each time I have had to call for support and enlist their aid in inputting or correcting information that the app would not accept. This time, somewhere in the process, my original return time was changed - not by me - from 12 hours to 2. The app would not let me extend. It took several phone calls to get the time returned to what I had indicated when I rented the truck. I commend your support guy as he is knowledgeable and patient, but the fact that I have to call him every time I rent from you leaves me frustrated and angry. In conversations with others it is clear this is not simply "operator error" on my part but a design and process issue U-haul needs to address.I was late setting up for the one craft show at which I sell at each year, and distracted during the show as I tried to address your app's issues. That translates into a loss of goodwill on your part and a reduction in profits on mine. I am very unhappy.

I keep getting charges from this place. They have no signature or any permission to try to take different amounts of money from my bank account. The Eat New Market, MD is responsible for their mess up on the UHaul rental, the female their also did not give me any paperwork or have me sign anything. She just told me which I-haul to get and that she didn’t know how to do anything and she would have the manager contact me, which he never did when I called Christopher the manager for drop off, I was told to take to nearest one cause I had no paperwork and nothing online to tell me where to go.

This review is related to a trailer rental. I was never informed that I would have to drive 30 miles out of my way to return the trailer and could not drop off the trailer at the U-Haul location that was less than 1 mile away from my destination. This added over an hour of traffic, driving, mileage, fuel expense that 100% should never have occurred. If I knew this was going to happen I would never have rented the trailer.

The agent that was there was super friendly and outgoing. If it were me, I'd give him a promotion and a raise. But please upgrade to better wifi or get some extenders because the wifi signal was making the computer system soooooooo slow. He was trying to be nonchalant about it, but it was the internets fault. And a company of your magnitude should have all the up to date tools to get customers in and out as quickly as possible. Thank you very much. I'd still give this uhaul usage a 10. But next time I come in, there'd better be an extender attachment to your wifi connection or I'm calling corporate and complaining. I shouldn't have to wait that long to get out of there when my reservation was made in advance. The agent actually had to make his phone a wifi hot spot just to get your computer to work faster. That's ridiculous. Shame on you Uhaul. Spend some money on proper equipment so your agent can get customers in and out efficiently.

The unit was suppose to be climate control that’s what I paid for however it was 90 degrees in the summer in my unit melting my epoxy cups ruining them. The outside door that your suppose to put your PIN number in to get in to the building was broke the whole time anyone could walk in. I would not recommend and more then likely won’t use again this was my worst experience with U-Haul in East New Market, Md. The place has gone done hill since Tammy Muniz left.

Both gentlemen that served me in East New Market were very kind, supportive, and even went above and beyond while I was literally terrified of my situation and what was next. I showed up about half an hour after I was supposed to pick up my reservation, and they allowed me to sit inside the building until the help I was waiting on arrived. The second gentleman had no problems helping me get a trailer hitch that fit the truck I was using, was also extremely patient with me and my help because of how frazzled I was. Thanks to their help, I was able to have some peace of mind. Thank you.

The online checkin/pickup process took way too long. It wasn’t made clear in advance that the emergency contact needed to be called. My wife did not enjoy the 5:15am phone call when she was sick and asleep.
The lock was really hard to open, it probably should have been replaced. The door to the lock box was really tight and hard to open. I can tell the employees and staff had sprayed something on them both to help make them work better, so they were doing their best with what they had.
It’s also likely that because I had been there trying to do the pickup process for over a half hour I was just frustrated and cold.
Just would like if the overall process was faster and the lock box was easier to get into. Staff on location were great at drop off.

The representative at the desk was very helpful and was able to recommend a change in equipment that helped with my move better than what I was originally going to use saving me time and effort to load and unload my equipment. Without his recommendation the job at hand would have been twice has hard and allowed more room for injury or equipment breakage. On 2 occasions the insulation from the ceiling came down. The local office had a hard time getting someone to repair. The person who repaired was from a different location.
The frequent rate increases were making it a burden especially when the unit was only the shell. No electricity, so I could only go during the daytime..

My experience at U-Haul at East New Market, Number 926029, was excellent. In particular, I would like to commend Ms. Mykala and Mr. Kenny for their wonderful assistance as I was closing out my unit. They were amazingly personable, friendly, and extremely likeable, so much so that Mr. Kenny and I started talking about old trucks, since I was driving one that he liked. The premises were extremely clean, including the restrooms, and Ms. Mykala said that they spend a lot of time making the place look nice during slow hours. In moving out, I met a number of other customers either moving in or accessing their units, and they were extremely pleasant as well. I would certainly recommend this U-Haul for anyone considering a storage unit. Great personnel, great experience!

The Staff was friendly, but Not long after I rented the unit, the rent went up under the excuse that the company needed to fix or replace lights around the property which NEVER HAPPENED! The lights are either still out or they flicker (which is a major distraction when driving on route 50 as the lights flash like a strobe and the State has been contacted in regards to this)... Calling me more than once per day was harassing not only to me but my family as well.
I lost my mother in-law and mother during the time I was renting.... and life circumstances kept me from being on time however; No matter what my situation will be in the future, I will not use Uhaul ever again because of the harassing emails, phone calls and text messages.

The facility was poorly lit, trashy, very poorly maintained, almost never staffed or understaffed. When you did get waited on the staff was generally rude. Often the narrow driveway which only one car can get through was blocked by tractor trailers or forklifts. Storage units leaked when it rained and doors were extremely difficult to open when they opened at all. Staff got rude with me when I reported the leakage in my initial unit then wanted me to move all of my items at the drop of a hat so that they could repair the leak in the roof as if I didn’t have a job and other responsibilities. Then the unit they moved me into had a broken door that could only be raised halfway. Most recently Staff picked the lock on my unit when I was 14 days late on payment, opened it to view the contents then put the lock back on the wrong part of the hasp when they were done. I kept a wireless camera in the unit to record movements and Uhaul wants to deny that they did this when I have video of their unlawful entry. They didn’t unlock the unit in a timely manner when I get the rent caught up so they are trying to charge me for an additional month’s rent even though they made it impossible for me to move out. It’s also worth noting that they have a sham business set up in the back part of the facility to sell the contents of defaulted units on eBay and at local flea markets which is illegal as well. There are plenty of other self-storage facilities in the area - steer clear of Uhaul. This place is awful in every way.

There was some fiberglass insulation that fell from the ceiling in my unit. I notified staff 6 months ago, and nothing changed. Nothing was repaired. I had to empty my unit with it still hanging half way to the floor.
My only other negative comment isn’t about the location directly regarding office hours per se, however, every time I called the facility, I reached the call center. Every time I requested a call back from the center (through the call center) I never received said call back. Every time I emailed management, not a single reply was attempted to contact me.
I will say, every time I visit I am talked to like like I’m the most important client. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Just the following up, is worth deducting one star.

Even before our move and making multiple calls on availability Wyatt Wangerman, was always professional, courteous and helpful. Seems all/most storage units in the area were booked up but the Uhaul - East New Market was our first simply due for to location. Then when one did open up, we immediately made the reservation. We then stopped in to secure the unit, Wyatt made the process clear, simple and again was professional and courteous. He provided a great overview of the property and conducted a demo on how to access my unit. The property, storage facilities, and even the retail area are very impressive, clean and seems to offer a bunch of great services. I plan to use the unit for both personal and some work and believe I’ll be there long term.
