UHaul personnel are not all trained on Uboxes. Often in my experience, the right hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. I was twice told they would call back and never did. Another person noted that I hung up on her,which I didn't. The lady who delivered the box of my things named Christine was extremely helpful. She went above and beyond. Other than Christine, I was not very impressed. I called the number given in texts and usually it was not the correct number. Yikes! Won't recommend to others.Susan D.

I ordered a Uhaul Shipping Box for a move from Maryland to Maine. The experience was overall pleasant until the Shipping Box arrived in Maine. Once it arrived, the location it was dropped off said there was nothing in the notes on where to have the box delivered to. As I had set this up prior to my move, when I initially placed the order - I did not have a location for the 3rd leg of the journey - as I was looking for a storage unit. I was told by the staff at East New Market this was fine, and to let them know once I had that address and they would add it on. I called the East New Market location twice with the address - once on April 19 and another on April 20. Both times the woman who handles the shipping boxes was not in. She returned my call the morning of April 21. We had a 6 minute conversation, proof of which is in my phone records, in which I shared the address for the 3rd leg of the Journey. I did not receive a new contract or confirmation number, which I did not think was unusual as I assumed she had just updated this same contract number. She guaranteed me that the shipping box would be delivered to my storage location on April 30 or May 1, which was great as these were the days I had moving help. When my box arriving at the location in Surry, Maine (the location Uhaul defaulted to, not my choice) - the owner, Pete, called and left a message wondering what to do with the shipping box. At this point, I was actually moving so unfortunately missed Pete's call due to driving. When we finally were able to connect, Pete said there was nothing in my contract about the delivery to Thomaston, Maine. It was evident at this point that the woman in East New Market, Maryland had not updated my contract correctly. Via several phone calls from Pete, it was determined that if I wanted to go ahead and have this done - it would be an additional $450 - nearly half the price of the cost to deliver it from Maryland to Maine - though this was from a location just an hour away. I said I would not be able to to that - simply because the cost was so high in comparison to what I'd already paid via U-Haul. Pete said he would go ahead and pass these charges on to U-Haul. Over the course of this same morning, as we were en route to Maine, the calls from Uhaul continued. I received calls from both Mike and Ray from the Brunswick, Maine location. Ray told me that there was no record of my conversation setting up the final delivery in Maine and literally said that this was â€œall your fault and if you would have called us sooner, we could have helped you.â€ When I continued to try to tell him that I did set it up on April 21, with an agent in Maryland, he continued to insinuate that I had lied and this conversation never took place. Absolutely horrible customer service. Now; what will end up happening - after a month of packing and moving; I have to go to the Surry location - unpack the shipping container, pack it all into a U-Haul truck, and drive the truck an hour plus to my storage facility. Then unpack it again. When we tried to arrange a time to pick it up first thing in the morning when the Surry location, we were told to give them an additional 45 mins for â€œtheir guyâ€ to get the shipping pod. We were told by Pete when we said we were coming from an hour away that we couldn't possibly be there by 8am anyways. We said told him it was possibly as we are early risers. His response â€œgood for youâ€. This has been the absolute WORST experience. I am disgusted by the customer service received from the men in Maine. Ray from the Brunswick location was the absolute worst. I have worked in customer service my entire life and this man has zero. All 3 talked over me, wouldn't listen to my situation and made it clear that they really didn't want to do anything to help come to a resolution that would work for me - the customer. If I wanted my pod delivered, it would be up to 2 weeks after it's scheduled delivery date - and for an exorbitant cost. Totally unacceptable. During a multiple state move, you don't want any additional stress. On my end, I DID set up everything with the East New Market, Maryland location. It is not my fault that my contract was not updated accordingly - however have now had to absorb additional costs, fees, stress and once again have to unload a pod, reload a truck, and unload it again. This has been a nightmare. I will not ever recommend U-Haul to anyone.Abigail R.

All was well the lady at the desk was absolutely wonderful very personable. I did tell her that the truck made a really loud noise as if the horn were blowing however it could have been the wind very windy here and I also recommended to her that you guys have hand sanitizer or hand wipes overall I'm satisfied and will come back but definitely get that truck looked atDOMINQUE S.

Even before our move and making multiple calls on availability Wyatt Wangerman, was always professional, courteous and helpful. Seems all/most storage units in the area were booked up but the Uhaul - East New Market was our first simply due for to location. Then when one did open up, we immediately made the reservation. We then stopped in to secure the unit, Wyatt made the process clear, simple and again was professional and courteous. He provided a great overview of the property and conducted a demo on how to access my unit. The property, storage facilities, and even the retail area are very impressive, clean and seems to offer a bunch of great services. Make sure drop off and pick up times are accurate. If running late, as in 6 hours late â€” call the customer to keep them updated on their delivery. When I parked the trailer, the parking lot where you have to maneuver the trailer, had freshly painted lines, which I ran over. The spaces had cones on the sides, but nothing on the front which would denote fresh and no sign. It had been painted overnight. When I told and showed the manager, he argued with me about the cones and whether it was marked, even in front of his staff. The staff were able to clean the paint off the tires. When I left, the staff had placed cones on the front side of painted spots, like there should've been to mark the wet paint.Kevin K.

Our experience with UHaul was sadly one of the worst we've had and made our cross-country trek incredibly stressful. We reserved our UBox well in advance of our move and were informed that it would be dropped off to us to be packed up on a specific date. I filled out the online requirements, attached a picture of where it should be left, and also wrote instructions for where it should be left. The day prior, I decided to call to ensure that my instructions were clear, and was told my order was canceled as they had "tried to contact me several times with no response", which is simply not true. I had zero missed calls or voicemails and politely told the woman this. She was incredibly rude and said she'd tried herself and that I did not have a voicemail set up, which is false. After being transferred 4 different times to rush to get a new reservation going with a deadline, I was informed that the real reason it was canceled is because their truck broke down and they couldn't deliver it to me. I was still very polite with each representative as I know that these are trying times we live in and everyone is doing their best, but while I was on hold, the woman at the East New Market, MD store was yelling at her colleague in the background and very unprofessional towards me. I was told that the box would be there the following day, but it ended up being 3 days late. I called each day and each day was told it'd be there on that day by 4:00pm. It was finally dropped off at 6:30pm 3 days later after continuously calling. We were told we only had a 24 hour turn around time due to the reservation having to be changed, and we rushed to pack up the box with all our belongings. Then, it was 3 days late being picked up after calling every day to check-in and told it'd be picked up by 4:00pm yet again on each call. It was not picked up until almost 10:30pm 3 days later than we were told. Then, once we arrived cross country, the box was another 4 days late getting to us. We were refunded $50 for each day that it was late getting to us which was appreciated, but the customer service of the East New Market, MD store was appalling to say the least and this experience has confirmed that we will not use Uhaul when we move again. I have never been spoken to so poorly by a customer service representative when I was nothing but kind and it's a shame that I was the one continuously calling seeking an update and not them proactively updating me. The Everett, Washington store was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately this entire experience has left a poor taste in my mouth.Christine M.
