When arranging the storage unit, the employee asked me when I would be moving in and I'll get a free month. I told him next week and he told me whoops, he already made it for today. So didn't get that full free month. Then I could never get in past 7pm when I should be able to until 10pm. I tried to get it fixed but was never fixed. Then the day before a flight, I went there to get somethings from my unit at about 6pm and there was a second padlock on my unit with a note that said I hadn't paid. I was enrolled in auto pay and checked my bank account and it had been paid on time every month. So I called....and called...and called any uhaul number I could find until I finally got a hold of a human at corporate who helped me get a hold of the manager. I was told I didn't have the right pad lock even though the note they left said I didn't pay. I bought the padlock at the uhaul store when I signed up and no one told me there was a specific lock you had to use or you would get locked out of your unit. The manager was kind enough to go to the uhaul store, get me a new lock, bring it to the facility and opened my unit that night. He is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. He also told me the reason I couldn't get in past 7pm is because I shared the same entry PIN as someone else. UHaul should probably think about fixing that bug. There was a never a time that I went to the store, called the store or went to my unit that went smoothly. I was going to rent a truck to move from Uhaul but not after all the headache they caused me.

I rented from this place before UHAUL bought it out. Everything went downhill after you bought it. We were told nothing would change. Rates shortly went up by 50%. I was supposed to have a reserved spot. I would pull my trailer out of storage only to return and have my spot taken over by work equipment. I brought it to the attention of staff. They just said park where you can find a spot. That’s not how reserved spots work. The place has literally turned into a dump. There’s piles of dirt all over the place. It’s overgrown with weeds. There’s junked vehicles all over. The units you’ve put in have caused overcrowding and pushed out decent renters and left junk. It’s as if you wanted people to leave. You got your wish. My access code didn’t work twice which is a major inconvenience when it’s not during office hours. The second time was the last time. And even when I tried to close out the unit on the app it showed pending for 4 days. I had to go into the office and he took care of it in 30 seconds. Not sure why it couldn’t be resolved in the app. It was a very disappointing experience. I’m not sad to leave.
DAX F | Overall ExperienceCharles from the Pekin store was horrible and rude kept raising his voice at me and hung up on me I had a horrible experience with getting my stuff out of storage I WILL NEVER rent from that store again AND I will continue to tell everyone I know NOT to EVER deal with that store
Chaka W | Overall ExperienceI first must thank management for working with me to keep my business. Thankyou!! I must say that as usual I will be looking for the best deal for storage. I say this only because there are less expensive companies competing for my business. My concern is when will the price increases stop? I was asked to leave as a result of some decision that was made about boats and trailers not being allowed to be stored at that location. I moved my pontoon boat out as requested only to find others were allowed to stay. Ended up selling my boat as a result. After the fact and some time had passed and only when I confronted management at the time he said that I could return my boat if I wanted to. Issue was I had to initiate the conversation regarding the boats and trailers that were still there.
TERRY & | First ImpressionsWoman at the Morton office kinda rude. I want to make payment and all she can tell me can't take cash, and only credit card or debit. I explained i been paying check, and she said only credit card or debit. I asked if i can mail check. Again she repeated herself and said i couldn't. I been paying mail with a check. I really was upset on how she talked to me.
