Unfortunately my experience was not great at Uhaul. I have never rented from them before and will most likely never go back. Uhaul rented us a truck and auto transport which were at different locations. They added extra free miles to the truck for us so we could go pick up the auto transport from another location but it was our responsibility and our time that was required to obtain these two items at different locations. The truck pick up was quick and painless but once the auto transport was picked up it was evident the truck had electrical issues. The auto transport lights did not work. Was had already paid for both around 600 dollars. We then remained at the unhaul location holding lights and assisting the associates to fix the truck for over 2 hours because there were no other trucks available for us to rent. Eventually, another truck was offered for a discounted price and a refund for the broken truck was promised.We were promised a discounted rate for the new truck due to uhaul error and malfunctioning as well as our time we had given to uhaul to help fix their own problem. Wilson, General manager at Uhaul called a few days later and said we would only be refunded a 50 dollar inconvenience fee which was very disappointing. Uhaul representatives and managers are not in communication with each other and we really got screwed over essentially only being refunded 50 bucks for all the trouble we had endured. Also due to the last minute change for the truck, the gas was not filled to 15/16 and we will be paying more out of pocket than before the issue. Please do not trust Wilson/Michael Hart, General Manager at Uhaul, he is not looking out for the customers best interest. I would recommend Tristan at Uhaul of hickory flat, who had all good intentions in helping us with Uhauls error. Unfortunately his help was not supported by Wilson/Micheal Hart the General manager. I would request full refund on the spot so you do not also get screwed over in this way. Tristan deserves a raise and the position of General manager and Wilson/Michael Hart did not succeed in customer satisfaction, I am completely disappointed in Unhaul and hope to never do business with Wilson Hart again.Sydney F.

Hickory Flat Uhaul Store is always my first choice for all moving needs. They did another great job. On the other hand, the moving help I hired didn't work out/show up at scheduled time. I had a hard deadline to meet and ended up loading and unloading the truck with neighbors/friends. I'm now headed to surgery for a damaged right knee. I've been billed $175.90 (Movinghelp.com - Young Hunks) for non-services. I advise the Uhaul website to remove this particular contractor (Young Hunks) as a provider.FRANCIS M.

I cleared mu storage unit out, on the 12/05, my contract was not up until 12/31 but U haul lease it with out telling me because there was no lock on it. I am extremely disappointed with the mandatory check in process. We've rented man uhaul Over the years and this was by far the worst experience. Not only did I not understand check in after being exhausted from moving over 2 days but we get to turn it in and I locked the vehicle and turned the keys in and THEN tried to check the vehicle in. We stayed and tried our best to check in . Luckily I did take pictures of the odometer, inside of the vehicle and outside just as proof of the condition I left it in . The check in did not allowed for uploaded photos from My phone so that was a nightmare . We had to use 2 phones and take pics of pics . We were again exhausted and I did not expect to have to do the job of uhaul Folks . I've always returned the vehicle locked it up and left . This was not fun. Very disappointed. Thank goodness for this Hickory Flat Hwy location who bailed me out! The Hembree Rd location CANCELLED MY TRUCK WITHOUT NOTICE!! Who does that?? Reservation started out a little on the rocky side. My reservation was transferred to another location which ended up not having a truck. It was then transferred back to my original pick-up location, and again they didn't have a truck available. Ultimately they had a truck transferred from another location so I could take one they had on hand. In the end it all worked out, but was touch and go for a moment.RAYMOND B.

I was called 2 days before rental due requesting that I accommodate their customer and return truck at 7:00 so they could have it. We rented the truck at 8:17 Wednesday to be returned Saturday. I said no, we are having a bad experience moving and the movers and we will see them around 8:00. We did not finish our move with movers until almost midnight Friday night. Saturday morning Starting at 7:30 and concluding at 8:05 when we were across the street getting gas, Mike made 3 calls to us demanding the return of the truck and threatening us with past due fees. He also sent us a text message! Also, we were told to just toss the rental blankets in the back of the truck and the female worker threatened to charge us a dollar a blanket for not folding them! (We had 10 dozen, several packages which were not opened.) So we started folding the blankets and they were upset that was holding things up, so they said forget it, they will take care of them. No one told us to fold the blankets. This store was more concerned about accommodating a customer that they were earning money off with a rental, than a customer who was simply returning a vehicle. This behavior was entirely inappropriate and we will NEVER do business with this location again due to their rudeness!GARY S.

I was at this location less than 10 days prior and was able to rent a cargo van without a credit card on file. I come back to rent another cargo van and they want a credit card on file. If this is corporate policy, why was I able to rent this van prior? The manager was not very nice when i tried to explain the situation. She gave me a 10' truck as an alternative that had a busted side mirror. The mirror issue wasn't noticed until driving down the road and it is blowing in the wind. A major safety issue.SHELBY B.

This location rented me a Truck that they knew had issues and needed service. The Truck ran poorly and almost stalled several times during my move. The Truck struggled to achieve minimum freeway speeds which made me and my family very uncomfortable. I am literally afraid to use another vehicle from your fleet at this time.KEVIN B.

My spouse and I had to put some items in storage due to her moving for her master's program. We did not want to throw away anything valuable that we would not be taking with us, and we did not want to over pack the vehicle. So it was convenient to have a place to store our belongings in such a short notice. We had been moving for three days straight from a place that did not have elevators. Where do I begin,...the UHaul app indicated a “drive-up,” 24’ storage was available at this location. When I called to confirm the day prior to my arrival, I was told they in fact did not have one available. Instead I was offered 2, 15’ storages. I should have been given the price of the 24’ storage for both 15’s. Instead, the manager, Haley Radcliff, told me, “I’ll give you the first month rent for free.” Wait—that’s already “company policy,” —so how’s that making it “right” for the customer?” So, nothing was really offered to make it right, nor were the 2, 15’ storages adjacent to each other. I had used the UHaul app to locate a 24’ storage and it showed Hickory Flat had one available, which is why I chose them over other facilities. I had an item (20’ long) which would have fit in a 24’ storage, instead I had to carry this item to another location which cost me more mileage and gas since I had to use the 24’ truck to transport the item to and then return the truck back to Canton. Also, after my storage rooms were assigned I drove the 26’ truck to the rooms only to find that they were both still locked (BTW, I had 5 friends come to help me unload; well, they had to wait til I went back thru the gate and to the office to ask someone to unlock the rooms). Finally, not attributed to this location was the problem with 2, 26’ trucks. Let me explain. I rented a 26’ truck from 6201 Cayce Lane, Columbia TN 3840. After completing the paperwork, I pulled out of the facility only to have to drive back in to the facility to tell them the breaks didn’t work so I could hopefully get another truck. Well, they didn’t have one available. They willingly made a call to a “higher authority” to get approval to give me a “truck that was either already assigned to someone else or it could have been a “fleet” truck??? - I don’t know. Regardless, they gave me this second truck. Well, this substitute truck had a “Check Engine” light come on after I had the entire truck loaded and had just begun (6am) my drive to the Hickory Flat storage facility in Canton. I called 1800GOUHAUL while enroute to GA and they told me a static (not flashing) indicator would be “ok” to drive. Still, to have that light come on wasn’t reassuring when you’ve just begun your 7 hour trip with a fully loaded truck with all your personal belongings. So, two questionable trucks and mishaps with my storage facility isn’t leaving me with positive impressions of UHaul right now.Jack C. | First Impressions
