Clean, new and modern. While the security of the facility is very strong, it is complicated and difficult to learn. Once you learn, however, it is manageable. The only hiccup that occurred was the until I rented was already in use so I had to get another unit which was on the the other side of the bldg... I had requested a closer unit from the get go... the girl Samantha who originally was very helpful said there were no other units available and that the empty unit which was by the first one that was assigned to me was not available.. There is a major disconnect in the system, from the sending location to national to the receiving location. Everything on the NJ end (sending) went smoothly. Once the containers were in transit is when communications and awareness fell apart. I called the 800 number several times for updates on my shipment, only to be given the run around from phone transfer to phone transfer, ultimately being told that there was no way of knowing the location of my containers until they arrived at the destination. At one point I was told they were delivered, which clearly was not true. On two occasions I was told they were in the Palm Bay facility ready to be delivered. This went on for days until final delivery, when it was the truck driver who gave me the ground truth about why they were delayed. The most alarming of all of this experience was being told by at least two phone operators, that there was no way of knowing where the containers were once they left my home. The containers arrived 4 days later than promised, which cost me a lost weekend that was planned for unloading the containers, a day away from work to unload since the weekend was past when they finally arrived, and additional airfare and car rental fees for having to reschedule my return flight after unloading at the destination. the only silver lining is that the containers arrived..and the contents were as packed, which gives credence to the "gentle ride" deliveryMichael R.

This experience was the worst of my life. The boxes were not level at drop off so I couldn't latch them when loaded without a crowbar and hammer. The boxes did not arrive as promised. Your customer service employees were clueless. Got put on hold continually and was lied to on several occasions. You screwed up the empty carton pick ups multiple times an again I was lied too. This whole experience was a hair short of a complete disaster, at no fault of the employees or customer service reps. When I booked the U-Box on U-Haul-s site, the dates I had selected were apparently pointless, as after I placed the order all of the dates were moved out half a month to a full month from the original selection dates. While a date can't be perfect on the website, I understand that, to be off that much, and to not know until after the order is placed is insane. I was no longer going to be living in the state on the date it changed my loading date to. Luckily we worked with the local U-Haul team to find a work around. They were very patient and kind, and helped where they could, but most of the disorganization was clearly a result of the overall company practices and policies, and they were therefore limited in their ability to help me. It needs to be clearer that any shipping schedule is at the mercy of whatever 3rd party you all can hire out for the job. Every day the scheduled shipping days would get changed to the next day, then on that day it would change to the next day again. I had many calls that amounted to "the shipping company hasn't come out, but it should be shipped tomorrow". Only for that to not occur. I asked countless times if there was something incorrect on my end that was causing the delays, and everything on my end was in order. Even after it was actually shipped, I scheduled a drop off/pick up time only to find out just before it was supposed to be dropped off that it wouldn't come that date. I had to emergency move across the country, and really thought this was the best way for us to do it, but wound up living out of suitcases for a month not knowing when our stuff would arrive. It felt like our lives were being held hostage. I can't stress how wonderful the customer support was given the terrible hand and policies they were dealt and had to navigate. Get more people to handle viewing an account. If someone cant handle the account they send you back into the queue and the waiting begins again. Spent over 20 minutes on hold both times. Other than that, the ubox experience was great and for us self packing was better. The boxes are small so big irregular items are difficult to pack. But the boxes are perfect sizes for fitting into small spaces or parking spots for unloading. And the uhaul place we had the uboxes delivered, the people were great and fast in deliveromg our 3 pods as we were in a hurry up situationVincent D.

The UBox arrived one day late. I was told by customer service that I would receive a $50 credit for each day the box was late. Can someone please confirm when this will occur? Also, UHaul automatically includes a $99.95 charge for a 1-month box rental even if you don't use it for one month. All I needed the box for was one day to load and one day to unload. I would provide a higher rating as staff was helpful and the facility appeared to be clean, but we had to wait for the only elevator, then we couldn’t call the elevator back once we were finished. After waiting quite awhile, we gave up, had to leave the carts, and take the stairs. We then got stuck in the stairwell (no handles to open the door from the stairwell) and finally used the emergency exit! We then had to walk back to the bays and go back inside to get the truck. She was accurate on her timing and made extra sure she dropped it in the right spot because I wasn't there to receive it. She texted me pictures of the location once she placed it. The Howell experience was horrible! I was told the containers would NOT arrive as scheduled. They were delayed a day, which cost me money as I had to pay for the help. Then, when they were supposed to be picked up, I was told it would be a 4 day delay. When I told them I would be sued as the property was sold, they told me they put in a ticket to the powers that be and it would be a few days till they got back to me.. Then, I got a call the next day from the man picking up the containers that he was in front of my house! We did not put our bed or tv in the pod as we wanted them until the pods were picked up so we could be comfortable. That being said I had to run home from my last day of work to pack it up and I was not able to say goodbye to my coworkers of 15 years. I was heartbroken. I suggest you hire more people and actually give phone calls to communicate pick ups and drop offs. I would never use this facility again. However, the Palm BayFL facility which dropped off the pods to my new home and picked them up a few days later was excellent! I would highly recommend them. I really am struggling with putting my experience on social medial for the Howel NJ facility so no one in my area has to go thru the nightmare I had to.donna M.

Howell did a great job. My issue isn't with them U-Haul dropped the ball in the delivery of my boxes in Florida. My boxes sat in Ft Myers for 9 days and delivery service was terrible. Traffic manager was rude and condescending. Boxes were left in front of my house for 4 days. Would not recommend this service for anyone moving.Ralph M.

Uhaul staff was absolutely wonderful, but the moving help I received was a complete disappointment. They were no-shows on the scheduled moving day, and sadly after the move, due to poorly packing the boxes many pieces were damaged. This was not the fault of uhaul, but again, the 3rd party moving company which I had booked through uhaul with the uboxes. I strongly advise uhaul to discontinue their relationship with the moving company they connected me with. But the Howell and San Antonio UHaul staff were both exemplary (especially Tyler in Howell and BJ in San Antonio). And the service itself is a great one, my uboxes arrived earlier than expected, and scheduling the drop off and pick up upon arrival was easy.Maria H.

Completely terrible experience trying to get Uhaul to pick up my empty Uboxes. Unloaded them on Saturday and did not get anyone to pick them up from my home until Tuesday after calling dozens of times. I don't know where the miscommunication was but I will definitely never use Uhaul again. Will be calling for a refund but who knows how long it will take to speak to someone.Anthony V.

The Howell location was great. HOWEVER the Scottsdale location was absolutely rude and inconsiderate. I tried calling customer service to complain about the manager, but either waited for 60 mins with no answer or was hung up on twice. He lied to my movers. Gave them the wrong box. Blamed it on me and hung up on me and had no consideration for my time or my movers. His name was Rodney. He is a disgrace to your company and if something is not done from his terrible childish customer service actions and the fact he never looked up my account to see what I needed and purchased I will be reporting this to Yelp and the BBB.Jamie K.

The place is wonderful, and in a great location! So clean and with lots of accessible equipment to make moving in easy. Dawn was a pleasure to work with, answered all of my questions, and made the application process so easy. A few days later, when I moved in and needed to change my locker, she was very accommodating, and made a note on the locker I left for future tenants. This is the first time we need to use a storage facility and we are so happy we went to yours! The lady that took care of us (Dawn) was absolutely wonderful. Greeted us with a smile, clearly explained everything to us and patiently showed us how to use the lock and the access card...(we are old and unfamiar with that).
