I waited a long time just to pick up the vehicle with only one customer ahead of me. The parking brake on the vehicle was damaged causing me to have to hold it up while driving which is completely ridiculous. Cannot believe after the awful experience that I still had to pay full price. Worst experience I have ever had with Uhaul.

Self serve kisoks for customers to enter information they need to if they did not go on line for a reservation. The customer can enter what kind of equipment they are loking for, chedk availabilty order supplies and print off a copy to take to the employee at the counter when they are done instead of taking up the time of an employee at the counter asking questions about availabiloty and prices. This would free up employees time to expedote customer reservations, show samples of various displays, including having sample boxes set up or to take care of the other responsibilities they have. Also, provide a tip shhet or video suggesting how to load a truck or trailer for maximum usage.

Never again with u haul. The in ability to contact the local store is bullshit. Was on hold for 45 minutes to pay my bill then got transferred back to customer service for another long wait. Local store was great nice people and service but your bullshit national reservation ruined everything. Never again

First of all when a customer makes a reservation and says they're paying cash only make sure you put in them at a location that takes cash cuz I was first sent to the self storage unit and they don't take cash then when my reservation was transferred over to this location that I originally had requested and was told that there was no trailers available I was giving it to for the same price that I was told the owner himself with it on me and then got all pissy and started screaming that he shouldn't have to be punished and have money taken away from him for other locations not taking cash he was very rude for being the owner it was not my fault and he acted like it was mine and the trailer was covered in mud but it was dry

I had an overall great experience with your company. But when I returned the truck, the guy in charge was combative and unhelpful. He wasn’t sure how to charge me, and even though I told him I had already spoken to the corporate office ( which was extremely helpful ), his response was to deride the company for not allowing him to do things his own way. In the end, he charged what he should have, but was not happy about it, and wasn’t shy in letting me know how pissy he was. Very poor customer service from that guy.

Not call me a f***ing idiot and a dumba** when you think no one is listening. Treating me like garbage when common sense says there was something wrong with the fuel reading to begin with. Trying to get every dollar out of me when you aren't earning your pay by not doing your job. I would rather rent from someone else way before using this location again.

I originally requested a cargo van, but was told by Daniel Whetstone that a major credit card was required to proceed. I told him that a debit card was all I had and he only repeated himself. He offered no options. I had to ask what my options were and THEN he said I could rent the 10’ box truck. Pathetic customer service.

Made on line reservation set price set mileage set drop off location in waterford. Everything changed when i arrived into jackson along with a clean truck but the was a service light on the whole time drving it...brought it tobtheir attention along with the mileage and waterford drop off location he waived me on and said everything is fine.

Share information timely. Truck DL1355 should be taken out of service. The equipment was clean but not well maintained, therefore, I said "no" under that section. I used your services three times last week and no one could or would give me a break. The agent on duty yesterday when I returned the truck said I had this same truck during the week, however, I was overcharged for it. Not pleased with the service of level of knowledge or professionalism of the agents. Would not recommend U-Haul to anyone. Also, the wait time at your call center is unacceptable.

The trailer showed it was 4' by 7' this was plenty of room for the riding lawn mower I needed to move, i was unable to use it due to the actual size of the trailer being 3'4". I'm very disappointed I've wasted my time and money.

Was still charged two rental days as they didn’t check it it until next day. Horrible customer service and very rude. There were two others there for a total of 3 trucks they refused to check in.

When I picked up the van I did a $100 hold on my debit and was informed the amount over I paidvwould be returned to me in cash when I returned it. When I returned it I had a different person at the counter. He just grabbed the keys went out to check it in and when he came back he handed me a paper and said $55 would be credited to my card. I advised him I wanted to do the cash back. I was then loudly told, in front of customers, by the owner, that I needed to say something before then. Well when? Was I supposed to magically know the rude countryman was going to do the transaction in the garage? I've always used this location. Luckily in my city there are quite a few uhaul locations. I won't be returning. It was a mistake on their part that could have been rectified or at the least apologize. Instead I felt humiliated.

We were very disappointed the second time we dropped off a truck here. The employee stuck us with an additional and erroneous charge and absolutely refused to look at our U-Haul documentation. He treated us like dirt and then had the gall to tell us several times, "Have a nice day." We will not be returning to this location.

The hitch looks first rate ....time will tell whether it was installed well or if there are problems. The issues I had were with the office staff. First, I told them I needed a 7 point connector but they wrote it up as a 4 prong. I caught this in the morning and gave the desk guy a photo. It was raining when I picked the car up but they say they installed the 7 point RV connector. I have two complaints. First, when I arrived they told me the hitch mechanic was not there and I would have to leave the car or reschedule. That was a minor inconvenience for me, but someone should have called me to let me know they could not perform the service on time. Nope. The bigger issue was when I tried to pay for the hitch. The guy at the counter ran my credit card and it came back insufficient funds. I knew that was wrong, but he would not listen to me. And we tried several times and each time he got louder and louder "insufficient funds". We tried my Discover card. Same result. He told me not to bump the card and that was why it wasn't going through. Not true, I only bumped it once. I called the discover card so he could hear what my balance was and what my available credit was.....over $7K available....but he walked away to do something else. I tried to show him the balance from my credit union account (for the first card) but he wouldn't even look at the slip of paper. And he said I'd have to find another card or get cash because I couldn't have my car back until he got paid. Finally a third card worked in their system. I called Discover and they said that there had not been any requests for payment from Uhaul. So something was wrong with the system but the pig-headed stubborn clerk that though he knew everything was not listening and had me boiling to the point that I wanted to take him outside for a good thumping. It's one thing if the store is right, but when you know they are wrong and they go out of their way to embarrass you in front of all the other customers, that really sucks ....I was spitting nails when I left. I called your customer service line and waited about 15 minutes on hold and finally gave up. I will not do business with U-haul again for the remainder of my life unless there are no other options. Sad, because the hitch they put on looks like it's very good quality. Really bad, ignorant, stubborn service attendant ruined the whole deal. And I was just trying to pay the bill. And BTW, I was charged about $385 after the estimate (without the ball/hitch) was just under $325. I didn't say anything about it because I knew they quoted the wrong wiring harness, but again, office staff failures. That is your interface with the public.....and the ones like I got are ruining your good name. The name on the receipt was James Rhinehart.

I did not receive the trailer I reserved 45 days in advance. My reservation was changed without notice. It was changed to a larger trailer than I asked for. This trailer was to large for me car it put undue wear and tear on my vehicle than needed. The manager and customer service would do nothing for me. NOT COOL, BEAWARE

I was told to pick up fifteen minutes till closing. Both employees were anxious to leave and not very interested in helping me or making sure I was comfortable with the equipment. I was forced to wait 30 minutes to get my questions and concerns addressed while the manager closed down the store. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t customer friendly

Did the 24 hour pickup for my reservation. Was issued the wrong vehicle (same specs but this one was not meant for 1-way), Customer Service reps were very helpful. I was told that the location manager (Wyoming, MI) would "take care of it in the morning" (switching out the vehicle I had vs the vehicle I should have had on my reservation). When returning the vehicle to my drop off location (Jackson, MI) I was going to be charged $35,000 for going 45,000 miles (in less than 48 hours, are you kidding me?) Summed up, the system thought that I had truck A which had 94,000 miles on the odometer when I actually had truck B which had 135,000 miles on the odometer. My advice to customers (which saved me): Take a picture of the dashboard when you first get your truck so you can see what the fuel gage is AND how many miles the vehicle has when you first get it... AND take note of the vehicle ID. The manager at the Wyoming, MI location dropped the ball big time. Manager at Jackson, MI made everything right. (BIG thanks to him!).

The phone "check-out" wasn't very clear and it was very slow and time consuming. I got there and wasn't sure how to do it and I ended up going into the office. He managed to rent out 3 trucks in the time it took me to navigate the phone check-out. I would have been better off with just doing "standard" checkout. One thing I didn't like that my truck was boxed in and I needed help to get it out of the area. I had thought it would have been set-up for easy pick-up.

Waited for an hour because computers were down after they had the trailer connected to my vehicle. Manager said he'd have to unhook me and I could go home. I said I'd wait. He said the computers might not come back up today. Frustrating. I waited anyway. Finally reservation was completed.

This location needs more focus on customer service. I've been a U-Haul customer for 20 years, mostly at this location & have never had any issues. This time, I showed up to pick up the van & stood in line for over 20 minutes. It was busy & I understand that, however, I had to point out to the clerk, that I was there @ 1 pm, it was now 1:25 & I would need the van until 5:30 pm now, instead of 5 pm. Then, as I went to pay, I was advised that the card I was using wasn't a valid payment option for vans or pick-ups, as it was a debit card & not a credit card. Nevermind the fact that I rented a similar van 1.5 weeks earlier, using the same card. I asked, "So does that mean I have to rent one of the big trucks?" & another older gentleman, with an apparent attitude problem, chimed in to inform me there were no other trucks available... After some discussion, my clerk realized the card I was trying to use WAS, in fact, a viable option. So, 35 minutes after arriving, I get the keys & go out to look the van over & check the mileage. The fuel level was wrong & the mileage was wrong. I checked the paperwork & realized, they gave me the keys to one van & the paperwork for a different van... I went back in the store to get it straightened out & made a joke that I could've gotten some credit for the original van I was given keys to, as it has 5k fewer miles than the van I was supposed to get. The older guy, with a poor attitude, chimed in again unnecessarily, to rudely inform me: "No. You wouldn't have gotten anything..." I didn't catch the older gentleman's name, but he was one of the two people at the counter at 1 pm on 4/13. I found him to be rude, unhelpful & rather abrasive. He should probably find another job if he can't show respect & decency to a friendly, patient, regular customer, such as myself. The van I was given had a blinker light out & was also showing maintenance lights on the dashboard. The ABS light was on, the traction control light was on & there were messages flashing on the screen about traction control & some other ride control system needing maintenance.

the owner is very not friendly. I watched him get upset with an older gentleman who was confused about his credit card and how to use the chip. the older guy had made a reservation for a trailer and the owner was confusing him on when he could drop off the trailer and I could tell the old guy was getting flustered. Then came my turn and he had to inspect my vehicle to make sure it could tow the trailer I rented. I had a 1 7/8 inch ball and he snapped and told me the ball was too small. I asked him to put the right size ball on my receiver and he acted like it was too much work for him . Maybe he should take a lesson from his employee that was with him because she was sweet and friendly . she even jumped in to help him finish up my transaction and made the rest of the visit more pleasant.

Rented a cargo trailer for protection from the elements. Roof leaked like a sieve, and they claimed that the trailers are "moisture resistant" not "waterproof". I say bull. I own a cargo trailer and it is water tight. I work with trailer manufacturers and they would never claim these trailers not to be watertight! U-haul did not offer to reduce my rental price. Very poor customer service.

Truck was supposed to be $29.99 at. 79 cents a mile. Cost me $114.00 not counting the gas that was put in, I spasificly said no hand truck or blankets. Got charged for the hand truck. The guy was rude. Total plus gas! $ 144.70. And we only had it 8 hrs not 24.will not go to this place again.

I was very upset that the location I had set up online to pick up my rental was not the location I actually had to go to, even after I had used the early check in. The mileage I had figured was from the original location I picked, but ended up going over and having to pay more because I had to go to the other side of town. As a result I had to pay more. Very upset with the online reservation process.

Pretty much sucked. Made a reservation, was confirmed, STILLwaited for more than an hour. THEN, didn't have the truck I reserved. Offered a larger truck. I went with a trailer. Had to buy an electrical adaptor , trailer adaptor didn't match. Shouldn't of had to buy the adaptor. I have a 2005 with a tow package. I'm not a happy camper.

The dolly did not have a belt to help hold my stuff in place. I left my daughters shoe rack in the ba k of the truck that I was going to drop off at her house and I called first thing in the morning and the person on the phone got smart with me and said we threw it in the garbage and someone stole it, so I have to charge you $25 for cleaning the truck. Then every time I pressed the gas pedal it felt as if the truck was going to stall and the steering wheel was very loose and i was afraid to drive it, so i had to get someone else to drive for me. And you casn only go 15-20 miles per hour in the truck. So I would not recommend this company to my friends.
