First, I received my truck an hour and one half late. Second, once received, the truck was defective (check gas cap light actaivated). Third, when notified of the problems, the manger said there was nothing he could do and just stared at me. He and I both knew that the warning light could have been indicative of a much more significant problem. The manager didn't care. There was no offer of reduction in payment or prorating of the lease term. This should be common practice in breach of contract situations. Yet, all that was supposedly done was an illusory bargain of crediting my account for a $50 fee that would be returned to me regardless. I'm extremely disappointed in Uhaul's manner of business and will be proceeding accordinglyâ€¦to include not using their services in the future.Jeremiah S.

The location was clean however, the first trailer had a turn signal not working which made the rental agent imply that it was my vehicle connection, I convinced the agent to try a different trailer and it worked. Upon returning the equipment, there was no one available at the outside equipment return. After waiting several minutes, I finally went inside and had to wait again to finally get an attendant to check me in. Overall it was unsatisfactory visit.Daniel T.

My reservation got canceled at 740pm the evening before my agreement to get the truck (less than 24hr prior to) with a TEXT! Then another text 30 afterwards. No call, no email, just a text! What about others whom do not have text messaging on their phone! After I get the cancelation, I call customer service, and I am on hold for 48 minutes! Then the gal transferred me and I was on hold another 45 minutes, again the night before the pick up day (the day me lease ends) at 1245am!! Then when I do get through the gal says I will have to call Regional Office at 7am to get help. So at 7am I call Regional Office and Danielle says, we have NO truck to help. Give me your cell and I will call you back (with NO expected time-frame, again the day my lease ends and HAVE to be out of my apartment). I call again at 930am, because I have not heard back from Danielle at Regional office. Amother gal states "she is still working on it". I receive a text from Franklin uhaul at 11:06am stating Franklin IN has a truck for me. Franklin IN Uhaul company calls and says, "we have one truck we will hold until 1pm for you, the gal reserved it for 10am." So I got NO call back from Danielle stating she made a reservation, instead get a call from a new location stating you have 1hr and 30 mins to pick up your truck. Let me explain further.. the reservation that was originally made was made an entire week in advance!!! Saturday ahead of time for Bloomington IN. Bloomington to Franklin is a 45 minute drive! (45 minutes of country roads and traffic) Upon pick up at Franklin the gal at the desk is cursing MULTIPLE time on the phone while another customer was in the office. We were NOT greeted upon entering the office, nor acknowledged. Completely unacceptable and inappropriate language, as well as the office girl telling us about the prior customers private information and issues! Unacceptable again!! Because I am driving to Franklin from Bloomington thats 45 miles of delayed everything! My storage unit where I was taking my items in MI was closed by the time I was able to get to my destination, which required spending money on a hotel, all while waiting for a phone call from John Papp Truck (the owner and manager of 7 Uhauls, which we left messages to discuss issues and NOBODY called back. This comment form is the ONLY way Uhaul knows the issue because nobody calls back! Absolutely disgusted with Uhaul business, professionalism, and ethical standards for how their company is ran! No discount added upon talking to customer service, no apology given, no acknowledgement of their canceled service with less than 24 hr notice!Cassie P.

When I showed up for my reservation at the W. Michigan location in Jackson, MI to obtain the equipment it was broken. This caused the employee to call around and find another unit. Then I had to drive 20 minutes to the E. Michigan store to get the trailer I needed. Once at the second store they clerk seemed confused and not well versed on the computer system or rental equipment. This is the second time I have had an issue with this location and why I tried going to a different one to start.ROBERT CASPER V.

The staff here are overwhelmed it seems, and it is hit or miss if you get someone who is actually friendly. They do not explain the process very well, explanations are mechanical and very fast, hard to follow. The staff at check-in made me feel like it was a burden if I were to ask for clarification. The second person I came in contact with at the end of the day was extremely kind, and made the return of my rental trailer as easy as could be. His kindness made up for the rude behavior of the first employee. I have a lot of patience and understanding for overworked employees because I was one myself, at the end of the day I was satisfied with my experience because of the last person I was dealing with. A prime example of what a little kindness can do. I will recommend to friends if they ask about the service in Jackson.JENNIFER D.

Reserved a 15 foot truck because I needed the ramp to move bedroom furniture and an exercise bike from my dadâ€˜s condo. During my â€œclean upâ€œ of the truck after use, it was evident I received a less than cleanly vehicle. I could tell by the extra debris and dead/shriveled spiders. Also, I rented two dozen furniture pads, not knowing his movers already had the furniture in shrink wrap. Opened one of the four packs and did not touch the other three. I asked to be reimbursed for these and was told I could not because I â€œrentedâ€œ them. Feels like I definitely got ripped off on this rental!Susan S.

Overall had a good experience and we will use your services again. I did rent a dolly and it was not in the truck, and I was still charged for it. I would just clear up that process because in the chaos of moving it didn't cross my mind to ask if it was in the truck, I think your reservation system says or implies that it will just be in the back of the truck and ready to go when you pick it up. I also couldn't return the truck with the app because I took a picture of the gas gauge, locked the truck, and then turned in the key. The app required a new photo and does not let you use one from your camera roll. Other than that your app and website are great.Caleb S.

The staff at this location are extremely rude and unprofessional. I had problems with my storage unit from the MOMENT I signed the lease, and wouldn't have signed at all if I wasn't stuck. The people working never answer the phone, and have such an awful attitude. And when I tried to call your corporate number for customer service, it was an equally awful experience and I was stuck dealing with it. At pick up and drop off your works were RUDE AND MAD FOR NO REASON not helpful at all. EXTREMELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION OR RECOMMEND ANY to this LOCATION. The dark-haired woman that checked us out was beyond rude. When I walked in I did not have a mask on because I am from Missouri and we listed our mask mandate weeks ago. I forgot I had travel into Michigan and didn't see a sign and she jumped all over me. Then when I explained to her that I had filled out the documents she rudely told me that I did not and that I still had to fill out a contract with her. The "general manager" John Collier is rude. He is not interested in customer service. He makes you feel like an inconvenience. I spent nearly $2000 there and he could give a flip. Fantastic experience! Dedicated staff. Kind and helpful within the busiest season. Also, I wanted to share that Ryan is an incredible leader at the Ames Iowa Uhaul site located at Duff. Ryan works harder than most people who own businesses. He either owns the Uhaul and/or he’s passionate about making the moving experience a good one. Honestly, when it comes to me moving, Uhaul has a very happy and determined staff — set on making moves easy, friendly and efficient. I appreciate the way Uhaul handles things and swear that this is one of America’s unsung essential services that really needs a round of national applause, and if all goes as planned; I intend to share this message with leadership in the government. It seems to me that moving is one of the most stressful times in a persons life span. Uhaul has, so far, never let me down. Uhaul: I’m impressed you allow people to set a promissory note. In Ames, and in Jackson, there was no hate or degrading comments for the person who asked about that matter. Nationally, who does that?; unless you declare your a business (not many companies). I am a new business owner and this move is establishing a new business where demand exists for the services we offer. After moving my stuff in, about a month later we went to check on it and it was infested with roaches, in which we were told we had to treat ourselves. When moving out we had set a arrangement up to move our stuff out a few days after the rent was due but we explained we had to go out of state for a funeral and they were fine with it. When we went to move our stuff out they “had no recollection of the conversation “ and forced us to pay a months worth of rent that we weren’t going to use. The owner/manager John is NEVER there. the staff at uhaul are the rudest people in the world ... the only person there that was amazing was Teresa she was very helpful and a blessing to uhaul... and an amazing person ... wish all the staff at uhaul would take a class from her on how to treat people... I dont understand in this point in time with everything going on ... I lost my job cause of the covid and got two months behind. went I with a month payment and the guy that was working would not take my month payment ... he said I need to pay the two months I was behind ... I would recommend this place to a friend, but tell them to never call because no one ever answers the phone. I spent going on 3 hours trying to cancel my storage unit because i didn't have the time to go over to the office.
