At pick up and drop off your works were RUDE AND MAD FOR NO REASON not helpful at all. EXTREMELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will NEVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION OR RECOMMEND ANY to this LOCATION. However. I will say at pick up time the lady did change her attitude. So that was ok, BUT AT DROP OFF I FELT I EXPERIENCED RACISM AND RUDENESS FROM HIM!!!! The dark-haired woman that checked us out was beyond rude. When I walked in I did not have a mask on because I am from Missouri and we listed our mask mandate weeks ago. I forgot I had travel into Michigan and didn't see a sign and she jumped all over me. Then when I explained to her that I had filled out the documents she rudely told me that I did not and that I still had to fill out a contract with her. I wld never go back there or recommend anyone there.stephanie S.
The "general manager" John Collier is rude. He is not interested in customer service. He makes you feel like an inconvenience. I spent nearly $2000 there and he could give a flip. I thought maybe it was just me, but he talked to everyone who came in there the same way. I will never recommend him or that place to anyone.Lori G.

Waited in return line for over 30 minutes. When I got out of my car, an employee walked outside and said, â€œwhat do you want.â€ I politely said I was returning equipment. No apologies from her she just said there are only two of us. I understand being understaffed I did not appreciate the first sentence that came out of her mouth when she saw me. I will not be using this location again. I will also deter my family and friends from using it.Joshua H.

My original payment method did not process to extend my rental, I was unaware of that fact. At 7am (less than 24 hours of the truck being "late") a male employee called me and left a voice mail stating he would be reporting the truck as stolen to local authorities, when all I needed was to be let known my payment did not process so I could then pay and extend. I was very obviously put off by that employees threat... So I have decided that from now on I'll take my business elsewhere and not recommend my local U-Haul location to friends, family, or acquaintances.Autumn G.

Return went smoothly, but had to wait for customer service rep to come out to complete the return as the girl processing the truck in front of mine, moved the truck and never came back. Short wait (less than 10 minutes and processed it quickly. Was over on mileage by like 20 and they didn't charge me so got a $0 invoice when done, which was much appreciated.Stuart S.

Extremely rude demeanor. Even the general manager acted like they did not want my business. I highly recommend further customer service training for employees at this location- everyone seemed to be barking orders at each other and made me out to be an inconvenience when I had a reservation ahead of time and was a paying customer. I will not recommend this location or Uhaul for future moving needs. I have worked in a wide variety of customer service settings myself for 13+ years and I have never seen myself or anyone I work with treat customers this badly. What a shame.Lyndsey W.

Fantastic experience! Dedicated staff. Kind and helpful within the busiest season. Also, I wanted to share that Ryan is an incredible leader at the Ames Iowa Uhaul site located at Duff. Ryan works harder than most people who own businesses. He either owns the Uhaul and/or he’s passionate about making the moving experience a good one. Honestly, when it comes to me moving, Uhaul has a very happy and determined staff — set on making moves easy, friendly and efficient. I appreciate the way Uhaul handles things and swear that this is one of America’s unsung essential services that really needs a round of national applause, and if all goes as planned; I intend to share this message with leadership in the government. It seems to me that moving is one of the most stressful times in a persons life span. Uhaul has, so far, never let me down. Uhaul: I’m impressed you allow people to set a promissory note. In Ames, and in Jackson, there was no hate or degrading comments for the person who asked about that matter. Nationally, who does that?; unless you declare your a business (not many companies). I am a new business owner and this move is establishing a new business where demand exists for the services we offer. The gentleman at the desk needed more assistance. It was a very busy time on Saturday afternoon. I felt rushed through the process. This was my first time renting and did not feel as though my questions were welcomed due to the volume of customers he was trying to take care of.Carolyn H.

After moving my stuff in, about a month later we went to check on it and it was infested with roaches, in which we were told we had to treat ourselves. When moving out we had set a arrangement up to move our stuff out a few days after the rent was due but we explained we had to go out of state for a funeral and they were fine with it. When we went to move our stuff out they “had no recollection of the conversation “ and forced us to pay a months worth of rent that we weren’t going to use. The owner/manager John is NEVER there. the staff at uhaul are the rudest people in the world ... the only person there that was amazing was Teresa she was very helpful and a blessing to uhaul... and an amazing person ... wish all the staff at uhaul would take a class from her on how to treat people... I dont understand in this point in time with everything going on ... I lost my job cause of the covid and got two months behind. went I with a month payment and the guy that was working would not take my month payment ... he said I need to pay the two months I was behind ... I would recommend this place to a friend, but tell them to never call because no one ever answers the phone.
