It is almost impossible to communicate with the correct person. I have spent as long as 45 minutes on hold and frequently (at least 8 times) held on the phone for 20 minutes. When I finally get through, it is to someone that can't directly help me. every single time (except 1) that I was told they would call me back I had to call them. I never received a call back as I was promised. The emails frequently had the wrong number of U-Boxes listed requiring me to take more time to call and verify. Your receipts are confusing again, requiring additional phone calls and time on hold. I was originally told my u-boxes would arrive on the 12th, but after they were loaded I was told the 16th. so I changed all my plans for movers and travel, then the boxes arrived on the 1st!.. I understand things can change during shipping, but WOW. I had to have my loaders pick up the boxes because the U-Haul truck broke. There was no back up plan for this contingency, which is terrible. In the metro Detroit area, there should be a way to cover for things like 1 broken truck.. U-Haul did make right and covered the cost. However I spent many stressful hours on the phone working this out, as did my moving help company. In the end, my goods arrived (early), but the process of getting it completed took 10 years off my life. Although everyone was polite and friendly on the phone, it was so difficult to accomplish anything. your website NEVER worked correctly and nothing seem to get accomplished correctly with one call.PHILLIP S.

The truck we rented had a water leak in the roof somewhere and we had some things damaged. When I returned the truck, there was no concern for my damage. The U-Haul rep just said they'd have to check out the truck.STEPHEN B.

This was the best uhaul experience ever! Whoever the woman is that helped us was amazing! She was clear and concise! Super efficient. The ramp to well up and down to load and unload years ago used to be much longer and NOT STEEP. VERY DANGEROUS BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN WALKING DOWN THERE IS A GREAT CHANCE YOU COULD FALL OR TRIP. It was not explained clearly that you must verify mileage by taking a picture of the odometer when picking up and returning. They will rip you off if you do not do this. We only traveled 15 miles and they reported 36 miles so we got charged an additional 10 dollars. PLEASE make sure you do this because they will rip you off.DANA B.
I rented a van through the Tavares location as that was the only location with availability. When I received the confirmation it was listed Eustis as the pickup/drop-off location so I called to confirm. I was told the Eustis location was correct. Upon arrival, they did not have the van in inventory and told me I was to pick up from Leesburg. Honestly, a pretty frustrating experience overall.Jennylinn C.

I have been self employed for 55 years and have deal with many people and businesses. I have never been more displeased and upset with the treatment I have gotten from U Haul from the start. I reserved two box's and they were not ready when I went to pick them up, I had to travel 50 miles to find them. I was given the wrong drop off location in Tennessee and when my box's arrived in it took me 5 hours and half a tank of gas to find them, then the storage store lost them only to arrive in Florida late. I was then told the home delivery was canceled. I will never recommend or use U Haul again. I was also charged $2500.00 for this move as I had to pay an additional $2000.00 to ship them to Florida from Tennessee for a second move and never was compensated on price. If you do not believe me take a look at my correspondence with your agents from the start.stephen A.

I had tried calling there a few different times over the 10 1/2 months that I used the unit. The only frustration I had was not being able to get through to the store even though I called the number to that store. After several attempts & having to call other stores & finally being able to be taken care of through the system but not through that store was my need taken care of. I live a couple hours away so when I need to reach them it’s frustrating not to be able to get through on the phone. In the end it took another trip in there after getting my stuff out to close the unit w/ in the 10 day prior requirement, because I wasn’t able to get through on the phone. Where do I begin... Let me 1st say there are some great staff members here That do try to go out of their way to help you. But then you run into the ones that just really want to ruin your day. Like going in in finding out the handle has been broken off the door going into your storage unit and being told we have to wait until the manager comes back off a vacation to have it fixed. In 2 weeks later it's still not fixed. Or walking into the climate control building and it's smelling of cat pee P. And being told it's not my fault I didn't put the cat in there! But my all time favourite thing of all was when the guy in the next unit that it was great to poor stuff over the wall into our unit. With the exception of being locked inside the fence overnight with both of our dogs and our then 9-year-old daughter after we paid the upgrade fee to allow for 24 hour access, our experience during the term of our agreement went relatively smoothly. That was until March 1st of 2020 when we moved our belongings out of our storage unit and notified staff that we no longer required use of the facilities. At that time we were paid through the end of February of 2020. The on-site manager even let us borrow a screwdriver and a broom to sweep out the unit before we left. So there is no question that we notified staff we were ending our rental term with Uhaul at that time. Uhaul has consistently continued to charge me monthly rent and just this month completed the process of "selling" our belongings within the unit (it was empty) to apply toward our balance despite several emails informing them that the unit had been empty since 03/01/2020. According to their records I now owe them over $2000 for a years plus worth of monthly storage fees for a unit I did not use in that time frame. So, I would say my overall experience with renting a storage unit from Uhaul of Lady Lake went about as poorly as could be imagined. I fully expect I will need a lawyer to clear up the mess they have created.Mary P. | Overall Experience

From bringing our personal items from the Chicago area here to Leesburg in two X-Boxes and then transferring them to two climate- controlled storage units while we found a home in the area, and finishing with the moving company having no problem loading everything up and bringing it to our new home, I could not be happier with U-Haul. Alexandrea here at the Leesburg facility was very friendly, helpful and professional in every aspect. For example, she used the forklift to move our two X-Boxes closer to the storage units door to save us time and steps with the unloading.
