The sign posted said to when returning the truck to wait and someone would come out. I waited and no one came out. I went inside and approached the desk and handed the keys over. The representative asked if an email receipt was ok and I said yes. He said thank you and that was it. No one came out to check the truck or examine the odometer reading or tell me I would be charged if I didn’t return it with a 1/4!tank of gas. Very poor customer service in general

I dropped off the rental and asked the person at the front before I handed off the keys if there was anything she needed from me. Not even two minutes later I received a call from my brother who was listed as my emergency contact that they needed to speak to me. My number was listed and no one ever tried to call me. When I called back to inquire about what was going on, the person was extremely rude and had an attitude. She also sounded like she did not want to be there. I understand that having to deal with people all day is not easy, but when you are dealing with the general public- a little kindness goes a long way. It’s not what you say, it’s HOW you say it. The only positive experience I had was when I called in to the call center to make the reservations. Both the agents I spoke to were extremely kind and patient and sounded like they wanted to help. U-Haul please train your employees a little better. I really wanted to believe that my experience was horrible because I was dealing with New Yorkers however it’s clear that this is a pattern. You all need a better hiring process to make sure you are employing competent people because my experience was terrible!

My code for the after hour entry system never worked in the 3 months that I had my unit. I complained multiple times and it was never addressed. The building also smelled of raw sewage. These two things combined with the fact that it was the most expensive unit in the area made the whole experience a nightmare.

Very unsatisfactory experience. I reserved a 26 foot uhaul truck on September 19th from a destination that was close to my moving location. I received a text message on September 26th that asked me "it is time ? complete your on line check in" further down I noticed that the location for my pickup changed without notification - this location would have taken me way out of my travel route. I called the hotline on September 26th in which I was then notified the original 26 foot truck was no longer available at he location I chose, the next location was texted to me which was completely out of the travel range, the best the representative could do is give me a 20 foot truck which again was out of my way which not only cost time and money in addition to the move expense and comp me 40 miles at the time which was a whole lot of nothing just to get me to go away. What other choice did I have since I am moving my elderly mother from two hours away. While trying to pickup the little 20 foot truck I had to settle for the app did not want work I wound up spending 30 minutes on the phone getting checked in. The truck we received was damaged (marked by your company) and drove terribly. Not to mention we had to make choices on what we had to leave behind since the truck was not big enough. Terrible experience never again ... Our rental should be refunded

Took absolutely forever, over an hour, to get set up and actually have a rental unit with keys in my hand and that's after already having a reservation online! It's insane! And there's nothing stopping your neighbor from climbing over the wall and getting into your unit! The walls are simply just drywall and the screws are exposed! Your stuff is not safe here, you don't know who your neighbor is.

When renting a U-Haul truck to clean out a storage unit at another facility. The manager asked what we were going to do with the items in the unit that we were cleaning out. He offered us a U-Haul storage unit free for a month. Until we figured things out. The staff at the Lebanon, PA U-Haul are definitely top notch.

This Uhaul location was chosen because of convenience and turned out to be a huge mistake. Firstly I would like to say the building is infested with roaches and mice or rats. Not sure which one. All throughout the building there are huge traps laid out for the rodents. At first opening my storage I noticed 2 inside of my unit placed in opposing corners. I let that go because I had already loaded up my truck and then the cart and came to this location. So upon arriving at the location I entered my access code and could not enter the building. I then went inside and asked for help and was told I have to enter my access code in 2 separate doors in order to enter the building which was highly inconvenient and could have been told to me when I booked it online. So I didn’t waste any time. Then as I was loading my belongings into my storage my daughter noticed a roach crawling out of 1 unit up the wall and all around. I made 2 trips with my truck and on the 3rd trip I tried to get in and was locked out. I was never told online that I had to pay extra to use the 24 hour service. It states that the Uhaul location itself is open for self service 24/7 and I was annoyed that I was standing outside and unable to get in and unload my car. My last issue with this whole situation was that my military veterans discount was not applied and there have been hidden fees in order to utilize this storage. If it were not for the urgency to get my belongings in a place I would have taken all of my things out. I plan on moving it all out within a week because I would hate if my belongings became roach infested and damaged due to mice or rats chewing through my stuff. I would not recommend storing your items here unless you get kicked out and have no place to put your stuff .

This is our second time to use your storage facility. I remember many of the same great, helpful people. You have much of the material (boxes, packing material, trucks) that we have used over numerous times.
Although my current unit is on the first floor, I hear you have added an elevator. That is a very welcome addition, as our unit before was on the second floor, and I Remember Those Stairs not very fondly.

I ended having to throw my stuff out. Because mices got in and damaged my stuff. When I cleaned it out I found 3 die ones, showed the manager and he didn’t seem to wonder about it. I told them and also showed them the damage last month. Ok thanks for letting us know. I tried to put a claim in for the damage but I needed the policy number for it, but no one would call me back or they said they can’t fine one. I will never use your storage unit again

Expected more from a storage facility. No lighting available inside the interior storage, lights in hallway leading to storage unit were very dim. The little interaction with staff seemed like we were a nuisance. Paid $170/month for interior storage and did not expect to see a lot of mouse waste on my wooden furniture shelves. Luckily only stored wood and plastic furniture and so far did not find damage from these critters. Would suggest this facility invest in some type of rodent repellents for their units so no one else has to deal with finding surprises in their belongings.

The employees were all fairly friendly and helpful, but none of the employees were wearing masks inside the building the two times I went. When getting my account set up, there were two employees working at the computer without any sort of mask. When checking out, there were three employees working on and out of the building. One of the employees did have his mask on while outside, but when I saw him inside later, he and the other two employees were not wearing masks. I felt very unsafe.
In addition, the couple of customers I saw inside the storage warehouse were not wearing masks either (which I acknowledge is a lot harder to control).

When my debit card was going to be charged for the next month, it could not be. I did not know this at the time but the employee knew that and did not contact me to let me know. Instead, he let it go three days until finally letting me know he was charging me $15 extra for being late. I tried to tell him this, but he did not seem to care and charged my card anyway. So instead of $103 I paid $118. I know it isn’t that big of a difference but during times like these, every penny counts and this entire ordeal was very unflattering. It was like HE was making that $15 and did not seem to care what I had to say. I hope Uhaul can help me with this issue or else I will take my business elsewhere next time.

I have a concern for the employees as sometimes they work alone and in this day and age that's unsafe, anyone could go inside while the employee is outside and anything could happen when they return to the inside. And I was very upset your company does not prorate the unit, my unit was from 6 to 6, I checked out on the 20th, that's 15 days early, I feel I should have gotten a reimbursement for those days

Staff was friendly. Access card couldn't be created becuse of computer problems. We think it's bizarre to have upper level storage units. The stairs were an unpleasant surprise.

We rented unit #173 for 1 month. It was dark and dingy with no light. There was a rat trap in the corner. When we moved our stuff out there were rat droppings everywhere. Wouldn’t recommend it.
