Keys were not in the lock boxes in the Lakewood location, causing me to venture up to Englishtown area. I traveled from north jersey and was told I would have to go to a different location. Very poor operation. The customer service was more blaming me for the keys not being in a guaranteed pick up reservation. I will not consider U-Haul in the future. Regional customer service was not helpful and was not understanding of the trouble of relocating to a different pick up location.Sean S.

Please, for the love of God, work on your online check in and check out. Tell people what will be required before they get to U-Haul. I can't show you my passport if I don't have it with me, and it took 4 selfies and 3 photos of my license to get your system to acknowledge my pictures. I couldn't check out at all because your system simply wouldn't let me. I got to "did you use the moving blankets or dolly" 3 times and the Continue button wouldn't respond after that point. But since I couldn't make the error message come up again, I couldn't see the night drop instructions. I will not rent from uhaul when I can't meet a live person in the future.Kenneth I.

My overall experience was good with the exception of one thing that disturbed me. I was charged an additional charge for a hand truck which I did not use which was in the truck. This hand truck was in the truck. I never requested it and it created an issue when I was loading the truck. It was in the way. I had to cut the tie wrap and move it out of the way so I could put my couch in. Personally I found it to be real sneaky. It was only $7.00 additional dollars but I never used it and it created a lot of problems to get everything loaded in and I had to remove it to make room for my furniture. My suggestion to UHaul don't put stuff in the truck if customer didn't ask for it.! It's not helpful and don't charge customer for something they never asked for. It's not right!!Joseph N.

The only problem I encountered was in finding your store. The address listed on the website is a different street number than it says on your building. My GPS got confused and I had to turn about (hard to do on such a busy road). Perhaps note that for people somehow?Shea V.

The roadside service sucks 1 hour just to talk to someone then 4 hours before someone showed up to fix the blowout we had. Then we had another blowout 30 miles from our destination, called the number again and was told it was a 45 minute wait just to talk to someoneSean B.

Truck was clean, but it was a piece of junk and prolly got 3 miles per gallon because the engine rpm avg was prolly 3000. Transmission shot. The guy behind the desk was not nice and refused to help. Woman outside very nice. Rented twice from this location, tried calling number they gave me for store but they do not pick up the phone so it goes to main number and that is a waste of time. Spent 20 minutes on phone every time I called. Overpriced, poor experience both times.Anthony C.

I had reserved a furniture dolly and there were none. It was me and my daughter moving and we really needed the dolly to move the furniture. I was very unhappy with the online service. I was switched to two different locations each one further away from where I was moving furniture. I will never reserve on line u-haul again. The location that I finally went to was really great. Upon arriving, Christopher at the desk informed me that there were no available storage bins, despite the fact that I had made a reservation 3 days ago. After searching through his records he first offered me a unit on the 2nd floor and after I explained to him that I specifically reserved the first floor he was able to locate my reservation. When I made a reservation on the phone, I was told by a rep named Genie that I qualify for 1 month free storage because I have used u-haul last February. When I brought that up with Christopher- he told me that I simply don’t qualify for such a promotion. After back and forth he offered to call his manager ( Joelle) to clarify this dispute. About two hours later I called back to see what came off that conversation only to find out that Christopher decided not to bother his manager. Now, I have to follow up with Joelle myself to get a straight answer, why corporate tells me that I qualify for a free month and facility management declines that. Lastly, upon returning my truck I couldn’t use the link that was provided to me for self check out of the truck. I couldn’t upload a picture of my odometer and gas tank. Now, I am facing an additional charge of $20 for someone to check out my returned truck. Most things went well. It was clean and safe. We only have 2 complications: We didn’t get a card to go through the door and the pin we set never worked. I had to ask another costumer for help one day I came to do something in my camper. Also we told the staff we were thinking of not using the space anymore. The only problem which is getting worse not better is someone answering the phones at the Marlboro location. At any time that seems to be mission impossible on reaching anyone especially when u wanna make a payment. To be blunt ur staff is super friendly and helpful. Problem is u have to actually reach someone to actually enjoy the experience U have no idea how much money uhaul is losing daily over that worsening issue but again the awesome staff compensates that to a degree. I was given the wrong truck, I had to make 2 trips, plus I had to put gas in the truck 3 times, plus I was told I wasn’t going to be charged the $100.00 for making the reservation, but I was, they charged me the environmental fee.. I made my reservation for a Saturday but I kept getting calls saying it was a different day.. on the day of moving am going to the storage unit the only person who gave me the up most respect was Victoria the young lady at the storage place. Such a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I think after this I may never use them again. I will be calling bc I was told it’s going to take 10-15 days to get my $100.00 back..
