Increase staffing. Have properly operating equipment. The ignition switch and key on the equipment I was rented was totally worn out. At times this poor condition made starting the vehicle take as much as 5 minutes of jiggling the key to start it.Tim S.
Billing really confusing. Had to call bank because bill was run twice and a fraud alert resulted. Final bill automated, but the first deposit application was very unclear and the staff acted like it was no big thing. While we were very happy with the UBox service once the boxes arrived in Missoula, we couldn't have been more disappointed with the UBox service in Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor side first insisted our boxes were not at their location, despite making the reservation for that location. The office staff refused to help fix the situation, so we had to call the regional office to sort it out. Once the boxes were "there" we couldn't access them for four days because they couldn't be found.Raymond C.

I was charged $8.50 for the reservation fee to make an appt. for hitch installation, I was not informed of this charge, although they did ask for credit car. At the tie of installation I was charged $75 instead of the $50 verbal estimate I received. The owner seemed to know what was going on. The installer (Nicolai) did a fine job. The other yahoos at the desk were clueless on how to check out, get a receipts, etc.Co P.
The technician who hooked up the trailer to my truck forgot to secure the trailer to the hitch ball, the bolt used to tighten the the tongue to the ball was completely loose despite telling me I was ready to go. I heard the clanking a block after leaving the parking lot, I got out and noticed right away and tightened it. That could have been a disaster. Please tell the tech to double check himself before letting a customer know they are ready to go.KEVIN N.

The clerk who rented us the truck tried to be a jerk but warmed up after he saw we were prepared. The check In clerk was awesome and the manager smiled at us when we left. Any time you are renting a uhaul, it can be a stressful time in life but this location made it very easy and stress freeLAURA L.

Reservation location Billings, mt. and Hettingrr, ND drop off location. Recommend. But the Missoula, MT pick up location needs to get there shit together on all levels from customer. Never pulled truck out of tighter location. Called me several times saying I needed to pick up my vehicle transport when it left with the truck on pickup. Called and asked for vehicle transport number 3 different times. Truck and vehicle transport was delivered on time and received a phone call on 9-9-21 and said again that the vehicle transport needed to be picked up. I explained the the vehicle transport was delivered to destination drop off with the truck. Then was asked by Missoula Uhaul person where it was delivered too.RICKY I.
Perhaps the rep could see that I had rented trailers four other times in the past eighteen months, but after hooking my trailer up he gave me zero instructions and just said I was good to go.Lyle H.

This is a POSITIVE review for the manager, Cory. He is possibly the BEST customer service agent, ANYWHERE, I have ever encountered. He is polite, calm, organized and knowledgeable. He is friendly and communicates clearly. I have been to this location 2 times within the last month. One time there was an irate, rude customer with whom Cory stayed calm and cool. Another time it was busy, while in addition Cory appeared to be training a new employee. He acknowledged the customers in line first, letting them know he would be with them soon, while guiding the employee--who was helping someone else--get the correct information. He had to go to an adjacent lot to get my truck and he literally ran out the door to go get it. I can't compliment this young man enough.JANE ELLEN B.

Was told over the phone with uhaul, and from previous experience, that the staff can assist with direction for loading and securing my car to the towing trailer. This location seemed under the impression that they couldn't even help give direction on lining up my wheels as I loaded the car let alone any other securing assistance. Would appreciate clarity moving forward so customers know what to expect.Margaret F.

Requiring two contacts, when you have my rental history and debit card on file, seems too much. Also, the person at UHaul said I was wrong when I said I thought the charge was less than $60. He insisted it would be $120, even though I was sure the estimate I received on the internet when I reserved the trailer said under $60. I was right. Why would he assume I was wrong? The employees who worked with us were very pleasant and seemed to know what they were doing. But there just wasn't enough support from real people. To improve for the next customer, you should have more people on staff to check equipment out. Also, we weren't told we were going to need to use a phone app to agree to the pre-trip mileage and equipment condition. We were well on our way before we got the text message from the app (what if my phone had been turned off)? The mileage on the app and the mileage on the truck didn't match - by a lot. The app would not accept our photo of the new mileage, so we tried to call UHaul to ask for guidance. We got placed into a long phone queue and eventualy went back to the UHaul location and wait unti a very busy employee could help. By the time all that was done we were way behind schedule. In short, I think UHaul should have more real people on staff. Don't depend on an app for something that employees should do - or at least tell people in advance that they're going to get a text message out of the blue from an app that either has bugs in it or is hard for the average customer to figure out. Both I and my partner are tech-savvy and we could not make the app work, and it was never made clear how much our final cost would depend on making the app work. Even in 2021, some people don't have cell phones, or understand apps. This was a pretty bad customer experience.DEWEY S.
Reserved a 6 x 12 trailer. GUARANTEED. Went to get the trailer. It was â€œstolenâ€ the night before so they gave me a 4 x 8 and said nothing they could do. I had to bring the 4 x 8 without using it because it was too small. Rented a 6 x 12 CARGO. Got charged for both the 4 x 8 and the 6 x 12. Not my fault the original 6 x 12 was supposedly â€œstolenâ€. If you have a guaranteed reservation and they don't have it you are supposed to get $50. Instead I got charged double and didn't get the trailer I reserved on my card Guaranteed.KAREN J.

Fix your after drop off and stop charging for dropping off after hours, I was charged for gas that was t in the truck that I had a pic of thankfully the customer service refunded me after being on hold for an hour everyone is not on the same page there no one knows what the other person has done or is doing I was outside in the truck an got a call from uhaul an they realized I was in the lot an hung up overall uhaul is still the best just fix the aggravating small things that can growTimothy W.
The windshield wipers had been improperly installed, so they broke while my partner was driving the U-Haul down the highway at 70mph during a rainstorm. This is absolutely unacceptable. Wait time on the phone was often hours long. Once after waiting an hour, my call was dropped. The company that I hired through UHaul never showed up (ever). UHaul referred me to another company - this service was offered to me through UHaul and I expected to deal with UHaul, not another company. Information on delivery time was not available. How can FedEx track an envelope sent across the globe to the minute and UHual can't track a big box down to the week? The location of a box should be available online. My box was over a week late arriving, which might have been OK, but I thought the statement " Your shipment is guaranteed to arrive..." meant the Box would arrive at the stated date and I planned on this. The guy at the uhaul place was awesome - but good thing they were open when I arrived, because the access info I was given was completely incorrect. There is no gate, no keypad next to my unit, and no lockbox with a keypad to get into the unit.
