From the moment I contacted u-haul was great. Only when I returned the truck one of the guys who checked me in was super rude and racist because there was a bit of dirt inside the truck. I didn't think about it as I have no problem picking up a broom and clean it. Anyway he had me do the cleaning, otherwise he was going to charge $125 for that. Overall great experience just be careful with the guy when returning your rented truck.Juan C.

One recommendation I'd make is maybe have a push notification (email or text) 15 or 30 min. prior to the pick up time and prompt the online check in process, or remind them to do it if they haven't done it already. The truck seemed like it was on its last leg. It was clean but you could tell it was old and had alot of miles on it. The place was clean and well maintained and the lady that I spoke with was really sweet and nice. The only down side was we were given a truck with only an eighth of a tank left. That is not that much gas and the warning light came on only a few miles down the road. I would hope that uhaul would only give trucks out with at least half a tank of gas. It makes it hard on the customer to have to get gas right away then again when turning it in.BJ L.
Absolutely loved storing our stuff at this location! Had 24 hour access and the card system always worked flawlessly! I needed rental trucks on two occasions and since this is where my unit was it was perfect and the staff was extremely helpful! I turned Uhaul trailer in on 01 June 2021 at 415 PM on Lorton, VA. I never received a receipt stating that it had been returned. I had to call U-Haul at 9 o'clock on June 2 to inquire about getting a receipt. The personnel I had to go outside to check to see if I had a really return the trailer. She apologize for the mail personnel that did not check the trailer in when it as turned in.What if I would not have called to check on my receipt. I could've been charge additional charges because of your personnel that did not complete the check in task Overall, this was the WORSTexperience ever. This was the worst experience of my life. The only 10 ft truck available was in Lorton. Picked it up 20 minutes before scheduled pick up time. Process went quickly, i was assured truck was clean and ready. Drove to Richmond from Lorton to pick up furniture tl transport to final destination in Sterling. In the cargo hold the following morning I noticed a full pallet of Uhaul blanks weighing several thousand pounds. I pulled my back attempting to pull it out of cargo hold. Contacted Richmond UHAUL facility and had to drive out to Richmond uhaul location for a forklift pallet removal squads expertise. Attempted calling Lorton facility seveal times, call hold time exceeded 50 mins every time. Nobody ever answered after which period.JACOBALEXANDER D.

Because the parking lot at the Newington U-Haul location was full, it wasn't clear where the overfill parking was. After asking around, it turned out to be the gravel area next to the location. We'd appreciate it ther was a sign to indicate where the overfill parking was. Thank you!James E.

The facilities are clean and the staff was professional and friendly, but I would not recommend this U-haul storage facility to a friend. The reason for this is their check-out policy of not pro-rating the monthly rent fee. Being in the military I cannot predict when I am going to be leaving and as it worked out I had to close out my storage space on the 10th of July. This means that I paid $192 for 10 days of usage. If I had to check out on the 2nd of the month then I would have paid $192 for only 2 days of usage. This policy of not pro-rating the rental fee is disadvantageous to military personnel who may have to leave in the middle of the month. That being the policy, I am somewhat surprised that I wasn’t forced to return the over-priced mandatory lock that I had to purchase from U-haul when I started renting the storage space just so it could be re-sold for more profit by U-haul.
