I really feel that this rental company should check ahead to make sure the customers has the correct authorization code with the correct Rental Truck. I got there thinking everything was going to work but wrong it took about another 20 to 25 min to finally fix everything. Also when we were ready to leave to take the first load. The battery went dead. The truck didn't start. I was lucky that someone had battery jumper cables. The steering wasn't that great too.HECTOR G.

779 seaward in Ventura, CA location double booked the van and the battery was dead and the uhaul attendant told me to jump it with my car and jumper cables. Horrible experience.WILLIAM L.

North Oxnard location here was great. Can't say the same for the Ventura Thompson or Simi Valley locations. Very disappointed my reservation was canceled twice on me from those locations- not okay.ALISON E.
I wouldn't waste my time here again. They have so many hidden fees and you end up paying more than you ever thought you would. They have a big parking lot which is convenient but overall the fees cost me over $200 just for one day, makes no sense to me.GEORGE D.

Alanee walls, general manager of North Fort Myers, is incompetent. I have spoke to her several times and never once did she do what she said she was going to do. She charged the credit card for a storage fee when we had nothing in storage. Once she checked it out she said she would credit us the $135 fee. She did not. When I call the 800 number they try to help but end up transferring back to Alanee Walls. She hangs up on me. She called my sister in CA at 5am but 8am in FL. The CA location was excellent. I could not close the door completely on my particular unit. It had to sit slightly open the entire time when on location. The delivery/pick up people were able to but it was extremely difficult to reopen after. I was very happy with the rest of the service. I had called about 2 weeks prior to making my appointment for an estimate. I was disappointed that when I made my appointment that the fee had gone up $1000.00! I was told later that I could have made the reservation and canceled for no chargeâ€¦if only I'd been made aware of that during my first phone conversation.Karen P.

I didn't personally see the Oxnard U-Haul location as the U-Box was delivered. But everyone I talked with on the phone was very courteous. When my U-box arrived at it's destination, I tried to call to confirm my pick-up and got the automated phone runaround/ go online for most inquiries. Hung up after 12 minutes of waiting. That said, when I got to the pickup location, staff was very helpful and nice. When I unpacked, everything was in great shape. Cost was a bit high in my opinion, but I didn't want to rent a small truck and tow my car behind, so this was a nice option to have.Kathy F.

I moved from CA to AZ and chose Uhaul boxes because PODS weren't available.The worst moving experience ever. My contract was changed to my movers names, for several days my boxes couldn't be found, customer service was very poor, hold times of 30 min or more. I spoke to several people and no one seemed to know what to do to help. Janelle Fowler in Phoenix AZ is the only bright spot of this experience. Once she called me to schedule the delivery, (the wrong date, again and she patiently listened to all the shortcomings of this move) she's gone above and beyond to correct the wrong delivery date that was scheduled, working on getting a storage fee refund because I never stored my items in AZ (which still hasn't been credited to me yet), she even coordinated getting the boxes picked up when you scheduling people said your truck broke down so you wouldn't pick up empty (5) boxes the scheduled day (Friday) until Sunday. The other and only other stand out employee was the woman who delivered and picked up the boxes, Denise. She was professional, patient with my requests for placement and very efficient. For the sake of relieving added stress to moving, please work on your protocols and systems to make renting from you a smoother process. I will never recommend your UBox service.Michelle K.

nobody walked the vehicle with me at pick up or drop off. Charged me an extra two gallons of fuel when i put in two gallons before dropping off the vehicle and only drove 9 miles. crap would not recommend this place.SIXTO R.

The weak spot in my UHAUL experience was online. The different locations fairly close by was great...except the software couldn't quite represent it clearly or in a timely fashion. Needs attention focused squarely on that.ERIC R.

Customer service was good at picking up but once I call the store to extend my rental they gave me an Attitude saying no and I told them I was not going to be able to make it on time to drop off the truck the clerk tells me well I'm going to charge you 50 dollars for you being late and another for the day. I told him ok that's fine I'll just stay with it for the whole day and then he goes to tell me no that he will charge me 50 dollars every hr I'm late I told him are you serious he goes on to tell me clock is ticking I rented out from U-Haul for a long time and this was the worst service ever won't recommend any one to this store again or rent from thereEDUARDO S.

Please have the U-Boxes ready on time. If not, please do not lie to the Moving Help personnel when they call the night before to verify everything is ready. Also please remove the previous renter's information from the U-Boxes before they're rented again.Patrick M.

Uhaul truck, got from location going to my apartment no more than 5mins, it was across the location of the uhaul. Then after we loaded my stuff and start the uhaul battery was completely dead, got roadside assistance and took about 60mins wasted 2 hrs to get all the assistance and walk to the location to get a new uhaul truck and unload and reload to the new uhaul truck. We we going to dump my couch to the recycling area but miss the time frame, cost me $120 to have someone less pick it up and deposit. Uhaul should be paying me instead of getting charges as the 2hrs of delay. Your company should be checking each battery of the truck and the engine light. Should not letting truck that has a low battery charges be used. Thank you.RICKY S.

I am only giving an "average" and not an "above average" because the customer service agent who gave me the key wasn't wearing a mask throughout the store. She was at a different place in the store and had to walk past me (with 6 ft of distance) unmasked to get to her counter. The agent who collected my key and the truck was wearing one upon drop-off, however. Also, while the cars were clean and fresh smelling on the inside, they were quite dirty on the outside. During COVID, I'd wish management would prioritize cleaning and mask wearing. I will still continue to use this location and recommend it to family and friends.Kelsey H.

It was alright. Everyone was nice even though nobody wore a mask in there and didn't do anything to socially distance. I was told of a 30 dollar discount I'd get back if I overfilled the tank and according to UHaul Support. It was a lie. Also there was a dolly left in the back of my truck with a random wood plank. Luckily they didn't charge me for the 7 dollar dolly.ALEXANDER M.

From start to finish my experience was incredible. The website was clear, straightforward, easy to navigate,and accurate! No hidden charges and no annoying gimmicks. Picking up the van was easy ans the sales girl was so pleasant. They bright the van to the door ( I was a little intimidated at how huge it was).it was spotless and in perfect shape. It drove beautifully , made moving which is always stressful almost enjoyable! Dropped the key in the drop box upon return and when I looked at the bill they credited me the extra gas I out in! Charged less than I expected! Any time I need a van I'm renting from them again! Highly recommended!LAINA G.

Dropping the van off was a nightmare. We spent over an hour trying to get it done through the website. The website kept crashing. We went through the process 6 times (taking same pictures over and over) on two different phones. When we called customer service we were told to just drop the keys in the drop box. We were told we were still responsible for the van as we didn't officially returned it. Unacceptable! Never again. We'll rent from home depot for short rentals next, they're open late.Tal A.
I have spoken with over a dozen employees and all but 1 have been unhelpful or rude. I was misquoted, sent to the wrong addresses, and not given full information. From start to finish this has been a horrible experience. Today I recieved my email stating that my u-box had arrived. My husband took off work and drove an hour to the location and they won't give us our box. The employee stated that we had to make a reservation to pick up. The email confirmation of delivery said nothing about a reservation and I was never told by anyone at drop off. Super disappointed with uhaul and will not use your services again. My truck wasn't ready when I arrived. I remember about the $50 guarantee she did not refuse or make me feel bad about asking! It was a bit of a bummer it wasn't ready because it made our plans shift.
