Angel was very kind to help me check in although I selected to do the self check in and grab the equipment on my own. It was on believable how long I sat outside trying to get myself checked in until I got so frustrated. I asked Angel to help me which she was happy to do, apparently there's some type of cell phone reception block in that area. It may be certain carriers but regardless it was frustrating to try and check in and checking out was just as bad I had to send a message to the staff so they knew I got the van back on time and get the appropriate charges to my account , I submitted something to the effect of my experience with the self check in process but I wanted to make sure I let you know that the staff were great and helping me actually get my van checked out

Todd B.Verify charges. I handed the keys to the clerk on the day of my rental before they closed and was charged an after hours "convenience" fee. I asked her if I needed to do anything and she said no then asked if an emailed receipt was fine. I answered yes, then saw the charge. That is wrong!!!

Karin E.The gas gauge was stuck on 1/4 full. It does not work. Did not know where I stood with gas. Needs to be fixed. Also the truck smelt like weed. Should have a strict policy when it comes to smoking in the vehicles. Other than that. I use this location all the time and have also rented storage units. The staff is great and have also been awesome. I was treated great and will use this location again when needed. Thanks!

After multiple attempts to call the location I was aways directed to the call center who in turn said they would email the location to ask about my thermos. I finally went to the location and asked 1) Did they receive an email from the call center? Answer No 2) Has anyone found a thermos? Not the manager but a worker answeredââŦ¦yeah and we threw it away. The manager fished it out of the trash. I can't believe people who are getting paid to perform a task for a company can exist !!! Not happy!

Christopher B.The only thing I would recommend is please tell anyone asking about the size of unit a 5x10 definitely will not fit a while / half apartment as I put my couch and small entertainment center with boxes and a rug and it is a tight tight fit I would say 5x10 would be for boxes only

RAMON A.I was unclear on the drop off instructions when I got back to the building with the truck they were closing with workers inside the building I knock on the window and the girl working extremely rude with the gestures being made telling me they're not open. I showed the key and the fact I was dropping off the vehicle and was told they would check it in in the morning. Hopefully I didn't get charged the extra fee for that.
Deiona C.I was not impressed with the gentleman when I picked up my rental. He was not personable and I felt like I was interrupting his time. The lady that took the return was extremely pleasant and cheerful.
Nathaniel L.The only snag encountered was not because of anything employees did. The building was repurposed from another business, and in my unit some nails from where the old business had a wall still had their heads sticking up in the floor, making it a little difficult to slide some items into my space. This could easily have been resolved at the time the building was repurposed using an angle grinder. To reiterate, the above is not something the employees had any control over. They were very helpful and friendly. My comments above may not be held against them.
Steven E. | First ImpressionsThe U-Haul driver, Joey, did an excellent job bringing my box out and picking it up the next day. He was super courteous and patient waiting for me to get to the site (about 15 minutes). He was very pleasant and as a new employee, will be a bona fide asset to the company. At your North Smithfield location, the employee name Wilson was very helpful back in Oct/November when I needed access to my box. However, the employee name Mr. King was not very helpful in understanding that my belongings had been shaken around in the box when it was delivered. He told me I should have let him look in the box the same time it arrived, and that I should have used more blankets to secure what's inside. Well, that is not U-Haul policy that I let him look in the box before I do, and quite frankly, he sounded as if it was my fault. I didn't appreciate this attitude, and consequently, I moved my belongings into a Public Storage facility, which is closer to my house. My point to him was, I had two U-boxes delivered to North Smithfield all the way from San Diego, California two years ago, and my belongings did not look in shambles as they did this time. His implication that it was my fault was enough for me to relocate my belongings.

Brandon W.This location is convenient to where I live and seems to have the equipment needed for my projects. I prefer to use a Uhaul Service Center for rental purposes as opposed to a gas station or other small business that supposedly has Uhaul trucks and trailers.
BOBBY T.The place is always very clean. Thereâs a man named Howard Hewitt who works there who helped me while I was with my two children and he helped me with the trolley to my car and I didnât even ask him. Things like that make a difference, especially to an overwhelmed mom with two small children! Every time Iâve seen him he is working hard and cleaning everything. One of the kindest humans Iâve ever met.
Kassandra H. | First ImpressionsThe service, staff, and equipment were great but the online return service is not great. First, the process of returning the truck online is too many steps and the site is not mobile friendly. That's an issue seeing as how 100% of the returns via this method are done on mobile. Next, it requires users to share their location. This isn't a good idea seeing as how VPNs are being used more and more and mobile VPNs are not as easy to toggle on and off as you might think. Often it'll cause an issue until the page is reloaded and that'll screw up the online vehicle return process even more. Since you have a card on file, you can stop the location sharing requirement and just charge someone for returns at the wrong location, similar to how you'd charge us for not filling up the tank. 1. Rework your online return process and make it short, easy and mobile friendly 2. Nix the location sharing Other than that I was really happy with everything provided. Will definitely use your services again

Jared H.When making the reservation I was not told they do not let you put it on a charge card. Showed up to pick up and pay was told debit or cash. Went home to get the cash then was told I needed a military ID or passport to leave with them until we returned the truck. Then had to have my son show up with a debit card. After emptying my storage at uhaul which I only had for 6 days out of the month was told they donât Reimburse for unused days. Well ainât that some double dipping. RENTER BEWARE. Find a local non commercial company to do business with that take time to explain everything at one time. Will never do this again. U store it that leave a Box trailer at your house then transports it when your ready. NEVER AGAIN U HAUL. TRY TO RESOLVE. HAHA ANOTHER JOKE ON ME

Sean M.The only issue I had was the phone number, I had it delivered to a different state and another person needed to be contacted for delivery and an associate changed my number to the other persons number as primary contact which they were not authorized to do and it was very difficult to get my phone number changed back so I would get the calls as needed when it was delivered to me

We had to let the truck warm up for quite some time with defrosters on full blast and then ultimately use our credit cards as scrapers in order to clear all the frost from the windshield. The truck was very clean and exactly what we needed.

Judith N.U-Haul needs to have more flexible customer service for when things go awry. I was put in a position to be relocated out of state for a round trip of 30 miles to get a cargo van when I was up against a deadline of losing my furniture and the representatives at U-Haul denied me the ability to send someone on my behalf without my card (my card was on file). This added 2 1/2 hours to my day. Not a single person at U-Haul has been given the ability to take initiative to think outside the box and give or make accommodations based on the scenario. I felt like the relocation to Rhode Island (out of state) felt like extortion when I was up against a deadline. $50 fee is a low inventory apology, it does not cover 30 miles roundtrip expenses and time lost.

Donna J. | First ImpressionsWe were expecting the guaranteed delivery date to be October 5th. We're very frustrated with the U-Box delivery. We've called multiple times to customer service asking for updates, and was given nothing. For the past week, we have had nothing because of this late delivery. We had to go out and buy foldable chairs for something to sit on and an air mattress to sleep on. I was called on October 4th to schedule a delivery on October 5th between 12:00-2:00 PM EST, to find out the U-Boxes never left Rhode Island, and we had movers come on the 5th after scheduling the delivery time through U-Haul and we wasted their time and spent $150 for nothing. We should be getting a substantial refund back from U-Haul on top of the $50 a day late fee due to this. The customer service has been poor, and I had to find out myself yesterday through another customer service call that North Charleston had my U-Boxes for two days with no call or update. We didn't get our boxes till the 14th.

When the person that is certified is working, it is only during the daytime hours, when I am working ! Would be nice to have someone certified during ALL business hours !

Raven W.WAY too many furniture pads. I can't imagine how anyone could fit enough in one container that would require 24. Having to move many bags of furniture pads along with furniture was not helpful. It would save uhaul and customers time and effort to specify the number of furniture pads required.

Melinda S.I bought a bike rack with the trailer hitch and after using it a few times the velcro failed and dropped my brand new bike onto the highway. The velcro would not hold again. When my husband went in on Monday morning on our way to the bike shop with the broken bike in the back of the car the manager said it was too bad and we needed to deal with Rees directly. We had not had the bike rack very long. Dealing with Rees has been a nightmare. I find it hard to believe no one else has ever complained about this bike rack since the overall raring online is a 2. I think if you are going to sell these you should stand behind them.

I am out of there and the last letter I got from the office said you owe me $10.10 and I would like my money. My bank sent the checks every Friday for my payment and for three or four month I was told my checks were not received when they were. So I am glad to be out of there.

The only negative feedback was one of the bathrooms at the storage entrance had overflowing bins and bathroom was dirty in the morning. When I went back at the end of the day the state of the bathroom did not change. Also, the one way 20 feet truck needs work on the transmission. It never changes appropriately.

This rate increase would have put the SMALLEST unit at 85 dollars before taxes. My personal opinion is that you will continue to loose customers if you continue to raise rental rates for existing clients. If anything you should be lowering the rates of clients that are loyal.
