Both my step son and i fell in the parking lot ,because none of the lot was salted...and was one huge sheet of ice. Other than that the facility was very nice, employee's were curtious...and knowledgeable of UHaul products, and equipment seemed to be well maintained. Everthing was not explained about the truck, battery died without using lights, returned truck and was not informed that truck that would be picked up was the same truck and no changes had been made to dying battery, had to walk over to site and pick up another truck after truck was moved from my house, shared with driver that new truck had to be dropped off at home location. Was not satisfied with services, rep should explain every aspect of truck to person renting truck.LATASHA J.

Both locations were great but we originally rented 5x8 trailer only to be told 2 days before nobody had one within 30 miles so they upgraded us to a 6x12. Fine. However after we loaded it and started our trip we did. Not feel comfortable towing it. We called U-Haul and they said they had a 10 foot trailer available in Oak Lawn that wr could swap them out. They then transferred me to another department who said everything was fine to drop the trailer there.. come to find out we could get a refund and they charged us the whole amount for having the trailer one day and not feeling safe towing it. Ridiculous. I would get maybe paying for one day but I will never use U-Haul again because of this.MARK C.

The fuel starting point within the vehicle was not the same as on the paper. I ended up getting charged for gas when I shouldn't have. It would be nice if when you rent a truck, someone walks you out and points out things to know such flashers, headlights, and other safety factors. We figured it all out but it would have been nice to not have to look for things. Over all it was a good experience.MELISSA G.

Regular problems with autopay which was a known issue. The great month autopay didn’t work they contacted me, ran the card again and it worked. Every time after that though they did not contact me until it was 14 days past due, locking me out of my unit, and I would have to call for someone to unlock it. Last month, despite knowing this is an ongoing problem, they threatened to put a lien on my unit. After paying and again having the late fee waved I decided this would be my last month bc it’s not worth the stress.Keri P. | Overall Experience

The people at the facility are nice. The online sign up is very easy. I don't think they make it clear that these are not normal walk in units. These are stacked one on top of another. They need to make note of that. I'm pretty unhappy honestly, but that's a corporate issue. I rented a truck there a couple of weeks ago also. The staff is very nice, very courteous. Very clean. There are two buildings and I was confused by where my room was bc the online reservation just tells you a room # but not a building #. I went inside the office and the guy who works there was polite and very helpful. He gave me a map of the building and explained how to disarm the unit with my access code and where to pull my car up. I guess I would just say when you do an online reservation, the process of where to find your building and how to disarm your room should be provided via text before you get there to make things a little more clear.Taylor K. | Online Move In

Staff was unacceptably helpful with the fact that I was assured my reservation for a storage unit was taken care of and it was not I was basically told what do you expect me to do by a u haul staff member very bad customer service I went over all of this on the phone before arriving at the storage unit just to arrive and be told there is no reservation for me there and after all of that I received a storage unit that I was told by u haul would be big enough to site a 2 bedroom apartment in which it was not and by the time I figured that out it was too late and the facility was closed so due to that fact I was unable to store all of my furniture in the space u haul has been very unorganized with my whole reservation for storage I would like some kind of credit toward my storage unit and towards all of the extra gas that was out in the truck that I didn’t need to put I’d appreciate a prompt response in this matter and expect u haul to rectify this situation for me...Laurie B. | First Impressions

The only complaint is that an elevator or a ramp would have made it a less strenuous move. The only open locker was on the first floor and not the ground floor which was what I had registered for. When I got there it was too late and we were too tired but had no choice but to move it up a flight of stairs. I wish that it hadn't been changed but the employee td us they were building a new facility and I could request to move to that location when it was completed. If when I am ready to move it will be coming back to my house. I just wish that Uhaul had stayed with that ground floor instead of the 1st floor.
