Sadly, it took two hours and three locations to get my UHaul truck. I was scheduled to pick up at 10 AM. There was no truck, and I was sent to another site in Vista. They had no idea what was going on. I left to return to the original place and was sent to a third location. I finally got my truck at noon, but my friends who took the morning off to help me had to return to work. It was a difficult move for me because I had no physical help. Very frustrated, and they stated they would refund me $50 for my inconvenience, but they did not.JULIANN H.

I left aannexoensjve item in the cab of the truck by mistake and.so I called the next day and they told me they had it to come get it. When I got there they told me that it was in a locked container and it was safe but when they went to get it they told me it was o longer there. Then I started asking questions like who has the key to the container it was in and how many employees actually have the keyâ€¦ I was given so many different answers by the guy who was supposed to be in charge that he couldn't even keep up with his own lies. In the end I did not get my property back and I was told by the manager I guess I will learn not to leave things in the cab of a rental . This is the WORST pkk ok ace to do business with ,. I understand that there are a lot of moving pieces, but giving me a rental with 1/8th of a tank of gas is pretty ridiculous. Also, while the cab of the truck was perfectly clean, when I opened up the back, it stunk and there were flies everywhere. The ramp was covered in bird feces and broken glass.BENJAMIN O.

We rented the one in mission area coz it's near but we end up on the coast hway which is way too far than the place I'm moving in thou we did scheduled it few days ahead. Hope next time you can have trucks available on the area people scheduled for pick up but for now it's good & hope it will not happen again ðŸ˜ŠSarahjane J.

They forgot to re-install my exaust mounts. I saw my exaust pipe floating and went under the car to check. That's when I saw the exaust mounts not installed. The customer care service is not helpful. Can't call the uhaul directly, have to end up spending 45minutes to an hour on the phone to state your case. Terrible service, I just want my refundMatthew S.

I had reserved a 15' truck with a tow dolly about a month in advance at a particular location (Carlsbad, CA). A few days before my reservation, I get a call telling me that the location has changed and is now further away (Oceanside, CA). On the day of my reservation I get a call telling me that the 15' truck is not available and my options are a 10' or a 26', but at a different location again (Escondido, CA). What's worse, is that they failed to mention that the tow dolly would not be there and would have to be picked up at the Oceanside location. I have no issue with the actual locations, but the overall U-Haul experience was miserable and very frustrating.Dmitri M.

Make sure you have the parts that were promised. Make sure that the parts will be in stock when you install someone's hitch. Also the employee was going to send me away with the wrong size ball mount. Not good customer service. If I didn't have someone check before I left I would have been screwed.Rebecca M.

I chose this location as my preferred pick up location. I was then informed the day before that they would not have the truck I needed, and that I would have to pick it up at another location (Escondido). The next morning I drove to Escondido only to be told that they did not have the truck I needed either. The man working informed me that he was dealing with this the last two days (dispatch sending people to his location for equipment he doesn't have). After the man working spoke to dispatch I was directed to go to Oceanside (Yes, the same place I originally chose as my location due to it being closer to the home I was moving from) because they had the truck I needed (Yes, the same place I was told would not have my truck the day before. When I arrived, the general manager helped me check-in. He, however, was short with me when I inquired about the $100 fee waiver for non-cash payment.Michaelfrancis H.

I arrived at U-Haul and was in line behind 5 others. I had completed an online check in, but as I reached the counter, I was asked for all the same information again. I was informed that this reservation was for a "round trip" move. After speaking with several agents over the past week, in order for me to "secure" the truck requested, I needed to change my "pick up location for the truck" Apparently, when I had "secured" the truck of choice, all previous notations from the original reservation carried over. I agreed to a round trip in order to leave the store as soon as possible ( I had movers coming at 0800) By the way...the 5 other customers in front of me also had similar issues despite reservations being in place. I called U-Haul as was was en-route to my home. The representative informed me "there is nothing I can do...you agreed to the round trip...there is no supervisor for the entire weekend...I will have one of them call you on Monday" I arrive at my home at 0802. No movers has arrived ( I had confirmed the day prior the time of 0800) After calling the movers ( booked through U-Haul) the movers arrived at 0930. The movers worked hard and did exceptional work. An extra hour was added to my initial estimate of 2 hours. During this time of unpacking, I called U-Haul again and spoke with "Latyna" She was VERY helpful in answering my questions about the round trip contract, I understood that t.he contractual change made economical sense for me. Latyna, again, VERY HELPFUL After unloading in Escondido, I headed out to return the truck...it would NOT start. I called U-Haul immediately. After 10 minutes of attempting to start the truck, it was jumped and I set out to return the truck....I remained on hold to report the issue to U-Haul. At this time, my kids suggested that I stop to get gas in an effort to return the gas line to half full. Against my better judgement, I DID stop to get gas, and the truck did not start again. (.I remained on hold from Escondido to Oceanside) I set out on foot from G&M gas station and went to U-Haul (again...still on hold) As I entered the store, the U-Haul representative was on the line. I briefly gave him the description of the events of the day and he recommended that "I ask my son to go back and jump the U-Haul...it would be faster than waiting for roadside assistance or a tow" My son and I went back to the gas station to jump the truck. It started right away. Alyssa helped me in the store...she was understanding, and said all the right things. She told me that she would place a hold on my contract and ask her manager to reach out to me. To date, I have NOT heard from a manager ( not from my initial complaint of the round trip contract, nor for the truck breaking down twice) It is Thursday, August 12th, 5 days after my move, and now I get the invoice for the charges, in addition to an invoice for more money due. I am at a loss for words...the intermittent good customer service, in addition to the insult of sending an invoice for additional monies owed is brazen. U-Haul, I believe, exploits customers, as there are no other NO CHOICES other than what is provided at check in. Moving as anyone knows is stressful, and it is my belief that U-Haul compounds that stress. From "securing the truck of choice, to movers arriving 90 minutes late, to the truck breaking down twice, to my son jumping the truck twice, and lastly, STILL NO PHONE CALLS FROM MANAGEMENT.....I am requesting a full refund of $86 Please advise, Mimi PaganMichellin P.

I reserved a truck & car dolly. I was emailed the night before that my reservation was moved to another location. When I get to the new location, it was only the car dolly that was available, the truck was at yet another location 5 miles away.ISAAC S.
I changed my reservation date a week or so before picking up the Uhaul. I ordered a 15 ft truck and a tow trailer. I was not notified until the afternoon before my move that both of these items were not available for my use, resulting in a difficult change in plans and ultimately ending in me needing to throw away several pieces of furniture I planned to bring with me on my move and a larger fuel cost due to driving two vehicles. The location we arrived at did not have our truck. No one called us ahead of time. We had to drive 22 miles out of our way to pick up and then 22 miles back to our storage unit. The first person I spoke with when I called the main number was very rude. Said she did not have the time to deal with me. Someone else would call me back. I did speak with someone a couple of days later. But this was an awful experience and made our move much more difficult and long.TAMMY T.

I was told when I called yesterday it would only take 10 minutes to check in and get the trailer and it took close to an hour to check in. Further the employee said that they hooked up the trailer to my vehicle but they did not tighten down the trailer connection to the ball. It fell off about a mile away. Fortunately the change were on and it held it in place. Superbad customer service and this put me into traffic and delayed my time significantly.Kevin H.
