Our original pickup location was moved and then I called UHuaul because the location was closed on pickup day to verify the truck would be there and let Uhaul know I would be picking it up late. When I arrived the app would not let me check out. I initiated a chat with Uhaul again since the new location was closed and was informed that my reservation was cancelled since we didn’t pick up on time, even though I called. They tried to source a new truck but it was a 26’ which was much bigger than we needed. I called the location in Oxford and they stated they had a 15’ available. I let the rep in the chat know and she switched my reservation to Oxford. This delayed our departure an hour and a half. Oxford location was amazing. The Truck Share program was abysmal as we had the location changed last minute and our reservation was cancelled even though I called to verify. I will never rent again unless I can go to an actual UHual location. Neighborhood dealers have been nothing but headaches over the years.

When my order was updated, the size of the truck being rented went from a 20' to a 15' without my consent or without any notification. The truck I received was smaller than needed. The truck also was extremely jerky and loud when the transmission was changing gears when accelerating or decelerating. I was constantly concerned that the truck may break down during my move.

Reserved truck online in Oxford Al. Got there at time was scheduled for they had no trucks said hadn’t had one in 2 wks. Had to go to different U-Haul they didn’t have the 15’ had reserved. Preceded to give me 26’ for same price. I had made reservations for 15’ with dollys. Would up having to take truck almost twice as long with no dollys this is for 459 mile move. 9hr drive needles to say 26’ drinks way more gas than 15’ tuck final gas bill was 245$ having made trip in 15’ truck it was 120$ in gas. Very unhappy with U-Haul.com

I’ll never use uhual again I picked up a truck in Oxford Al to load in Wedowee Al to move to Tallassee Al there were drop off locations closer than auburn al but that’s where it gave me to drop off and was only allowed 141 miles now I’m getting charged for going over miles had I been able to drop off at a closer location I wouldn’t have went over this isn’t the locations fault it’s uhauls fault

This is our first move using loaders and unloaders. The whole experience was very incredible. I have had a stroke years ago and my wife has a bad back, so we needed help with out move. The professional you connected us to were absolutely amazing. Aston communicated early and I felt at ease. Theresa where we picked our truck up was the consumate professional. Everything was very professional and borderline perfect except the shady rental agreement. It’s advertised 20 something dollars a day to move. I literally spent my last hundred dollars to put a security hold with you guys, expecting to get something back upon returning and I’m told that I’m not getting nothing back at all so I literally spent $100 to use a truck for two hours my last hundred dollars at that when I was under the impression I was only spending no more than 30 to 50 the only thing I could say to improve is transparency when it comes to what customers are actually gonna be paying now I’m screwed and I have no gas to get to it for work thank you goddamnit

The clerk never even mentioned to me that there would be a text message with a link to the pre rental inspection. I did not open the message until I got home ( four miles from the U-Hauul store.) The link had already expired. I drove back to the store, they send a second text message, repeat thing happened again. Need more time before link expires. Clerks should ALWAYS tell customers to check for the text before they leave the store.

The only thing I recomend is putting a hand crank on the uhauls to lift it off the hitch. After I picked up the uhaul, I still needed to use my vehicle before we left 2 days later. Extremely inconvenient & physically heavy to unhitch from the vehicle.

I get to the facility there is a truck blocking the door to unload my stuff. Had to squeeze through in between the truck and the door to unload. They didnt open till 9am got there about 745. When they did get there they still did not move the truck despite calling uhaul and them sending the manager a message . So we had to unload sideways and squeeze everything through

My overall experience with this company was great. My overall experience with several other U-Haul dealers was HORRIBLE.....All in the same time period. After going 5 different places (started at 4:30pm on Thursday and finally after being on the hone with U-Haul until Friday morning at 9:00am) and reservations made several days in advance was STUPID!!!! U-Haul needs to get better with reservations and communications.

I wouldn't rent another U-Haul for the amount of money I was charged; it is a complete rip off. I drove the U-Haul 150 miles, filled it back up with gas and returned it spotless and it was $267? U-Haul is a false adverting rip off. $19 rental (fine print: $1.19 a mile plus "Environmental fees").

I had my storage unit for over 10 years and paid on time every single month. I broke my foot and was out of work making me late paying the storage unit one time by 5 days and the facility threatened to cut the lock and sell items at auction. I moved to Talladega from Chicago, experiencing all of the unexpected surprises of moving. The non-Uhaul storage facility I had prepaid and prescheduled in Talladega was NOT accessible and I found myself stuck. I found this UHaul facility in Oxford and they were extremely accommodating, helpful, and kind. My experience with UHaul blew all of my expectations away! We first met Theresa Shonebarger when we returned a truck. I had just moved from Atlanta and I was using a different, local storage facility. Right away, I knew I needed to get on the waitlist for a storage unit. Within a week or two, Theresa called me with the good news! We gladly moved our things to our new unit. The unit was clean, the move in was incredibly easy, but most importantly, the staff at the Oxford facility is AMAZING! Theresa's kindness and care are exceptional! It is so hard moving, but my interaction with her truly improved my spirits on a very difficult day! She naturally exudes light! And I can see it reflect on her staff! Every person we interacted with showed kindness and care! Honestly, I was a bit bluesy when it was time to clear out unit and move on. I will miss Theresa and her members! You have a rare gem with her... I wish more managers had her positive attitude and heart for others! She genuinely cares about her customers, and it shows! If we ever need to rent a truck or rent a storage place again, we definitely know where we are going! Our experience was such a wonderful and positive one!

As I moved all of my items out of storage, I was also very sick in the process. I called and spoke with customer service about closing my account and they told me I would need to go and remove the lock from my storage or that someone would be able to cut it open. The representative was aware that I needed to close my storage account but that I could not make it within that week to close it. She stopped automatic payments so that I would not be charged for the month or any months following and I explained I would be able to provide the keys once I was well. I let the local building know about my conversation with customer service explaining that I could not come and provide keys. Soon after, a global pandemic arises and I am still not well at the time that charges are being threatened to the account. I would have paid had I not spoke with customer service so that I would not be charged. This location was well aware as I had also spoken with someone at the location the day I removed all of my belongings. Moving on my own, having a disease and working full time, I did not have time that day to close the account, hence my reason for calling customer service. Not only was the end of my experience terrible, but also the beginning. I have had problems with the truck I first used to move not being ready when it came time for me to move, so I had to postpone the start of my move due to negligence by U-Haul. I have paid for equipment and not received it, I have also paid for having a truck longer than scheduled when I only had it for the scheduled amount of time. I have paid for gas that I did not need to pay for because a meter is damaged on one of the trucks. The list goes on, and I am also still receiving a $200+ bill for an empty storage space. This location has been terrible from the start and I refuse to recommend or use them ever again. I will eventually call customer service to try and resolve the payment issue, but I truly do not deserve what I have been through with U-Haul. Added stress during my move and sickness, and charging me 3x what I would pay for the storage that is empty is not worth coming back to any business. They made my moving experience terrible and I am so disappointed.

The staff were always friendly, although at times it was hard to get someone on the phone. The rats there, though? Y’all need to tell people about them. I had quite a bit of things destroyed, that had to be thrown away, either because it had been chewed through or because it was covered in rat feces. I would never use this facility again, and would never suggest you to a friend or family member, for that very reason. Also - the two late fees policy is terrible. The staff at the facility was great, and they are your saving grace.
