There was spit on the windshield. I didn't recognize it until it was dark out and other vehicles headlights made it visible. A cleaning charge was added to my fees. I contacted customer service and they corrected the matter. I appreciate the quick resolve. I have rented U-haul in the past and I am going to continue to do so. Thank you

I recently rented a U-Haul truck for an across the state move. I had a hard time understanding the contract and Joe Alberts, the manager, helped me understand and gave me accommodations. Joe Albert was nice, courtesy and kind and he made special efforts to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. The truck I rented was very clean and easy to access. The truck was run smoothly and the online process of obtaining and returning the truck was fast and simple. I would highly recommend U-Haul Moving and Storage of Pine Island.

When I returned the unit the person in Schererville insisted they were going to charge me a cleaning fee if I didn't clean the dust/dirt that was in the trailer when I picked it up in MI. He was kind enough to let me use their air hose, it took me about 1 Minute to blow out the dust/dirt (that I didn't put there) and I was on my way. Kinda left a bad taste in mouth!

Requiring customers to use uhaul locks, then the key broke off in the lock. Had to pay a locksmith to open it. Then move out was not handled right and facility calling about being late on rent. I moved out of the unit days prior. Do better.

Terrible experience. Worker called 4 times while I was at work saying the truck was not returned when it was. Also, had a terrible experience with the storage unit. Will not be using this location or service again.

the gas tank was listed as 15/16 full but was less than 3/4. the mileage was listed as one mile less than the odometer. I drove 20 miles yet had to put 3.5 gallons of gas to bring it up to 15/16. I know that truck gets better mileage than that. all minor issues but it is enough to keep me away from u-haul. I will be going back to Penske.

Check in girl couldn’t lift trailer up. We had to do it for her. Upon return the office was locked. Evenly someone came into the lot and proceeded to help another customer who was also waiting. After about 20 minutes he finally came out and checked the trailer...took 2 minutes.

There was a windshield crack that goes across the line of sight of the driver. Seems dangerous, but all U-Haul cares about is whether or not I added another crack or not.

The gentleman there was very busy prior to us arriving and the other customers told us he did a great job keeping up as best as he can and from what we saw and dealt with he did a great job and remained very friendly and professional the entire time. Great customer service.

VERY IMPORTANT, I AM A US ARMY COMBAT VETERAN. I WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FALSE ADVERTISING OF $19.00 FOR A 10 FOOT TRUCK? I UTILIZED THE TRUCK FOR A FEW HOURS, I HAD TO PAY $118.00 FOR THE VEHICLE AND MILES, AND I PUT $20.00 IN THE GAS TANK MUCH MORE THAN WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE. THE TOTAL I PAID FOR A FEW HOURS, WITH NO VETERANS DISCOUNT, WAS $138.00.

We got the truck at a half a tank and we filled it up and it was just in the line and we got charged $16. That’s insane 1 more gallon or half a gallon would have put us at the half a tank but yet we got charged 3 times that. Insane. Won’t go back here again.

When I picked up the 17 foot truck it had about 5/16 of a tank of gas in it. I didn’t think anything of it because I knew the 26 footer has 5/16 when you pick it up. But later on I noticed on the receipt that the 17 footer is supposed to have 7/16 of a tank. Before I returned the truck I filled it to 7/16 any way ($25 for 10 gallons), but it was only 5/16 when I picked it up. Next time I rent I will double check that before I leave the lot. Any way, great service overall. I dealt with 3 different Uhaul employees at the Pine Island location over the course of my move and they were all very pleasant. It was a nice, smooth experience.

Unfortunately my wife trusted what was written down for how much gas was in the truck. The attendant wrote down 5/8 when there was only 1/4 of a tank. This resulted in us paying $60 more in fuel.

This was the worst pickup experience I have ever heard of or been apart of. I drove 3 hours to get to the location of my stuff and I reserved a truck way ahead of time for a 6PM standard central time and didn’t Get into a truck until 10PM. When picking up the truck the /enterS website was completely not working. I work for a mobile technology job so I know how to operate cellular devices. After being on hold for an hour and a half, I drove to one of the only locations open and wasn’t given an available truck because it way “one way.” Once again to a total of 4 hours until I got into a truck after customer service finally answered.

Streamline the phone check in app. I was in the parking lot next to a major highway at 12:30 a.m. and it took 20 minutes to complete the check in. I didn't feel particularly safe. But other than that, I had a great experience with the operation and they were humbly accommodating.

I traveled 700 miles to help my daughter move, and was praying that the truck would be available when I got there in the morning. The truck was sitting there ready to go at 8 am, and the woman who waited on me was friendly and helpful. She had me on my way quickly, and she was still there later in the afternoon when I returned the truck. The return went as smoothly as the pick-up. I realize that sometimes these rental companies can be hit or miss, depending upon people returning equipment in a timely manner, and in good working condition. But in this case, I couldn’t be happier with the service that I received, and I’m extremely thankful that I decided on Pine Island in Schererville Indiana, and would highly recommend them to everyone.

Employees were friendly but was overcharged and when I called to question about the charges I was told a manager would have to call me later, as he was out running errands, to perform a refund. The manager never called me and when I called back later I was told the manager was gone for the day.

Our overall experience with U-Haul was terrible, but it was with the Alsip, IL location. Our pods were lost for approximately one week and when they found them we had to wait several days to get.
