Was gouged $12 for 2 gallons as attendant said it wasn't exactly at 5/8. I had just put $30 to bring it back. I showed the receipt and everything. The cashier was very pleasant however. I felt it was nothing more than gouging. I'm not happy.

The location was great but your online reservation system is POINTLESS. We reserved online and we're called 3 times and told it had to change - both the size truck requested and locations changed on us multiple times. There must be a way to be more specific on what locations offer what options.

I booked a 5x8 trailer two weeks in advance. I got an email the night before my scheduled pickup to say the trailer was not available. I called to find out why. Was on hold for 45 minutes without anyone answering the phone. I went to the location the next day and saw five 5x8 trailers in the lot. When I went inside to inquire why I couldn't get a trailer the girl behind the counter was totally rude and said they were only for local use. I then asked was there another facility close by. I was told to call the 1-800 number. I have never been treated so rudely ever before. I have rented numerous times from uhaul in the past and have never had a problem. Totally unprofessional.

My reservation got moved to this location after the one closest to me failed to notify my that the auto transport i reserved was not available even though it was booked two weeks in advance. Frustrated and disappointed i was rerouted 35 minutes away to this location where Trevon made up for the other locations short comings. Professional and polite everything i needed was taken car of. 100% appreciate and respect the team at the portage park store.

I had an unpleasant experience when I was filling up the gas the gas level would not move I only went some 20 miles and put in $50 of gas and the gauge still didn't move after driving several miles the gas gauge finally moved and almost was a quarter higher than when I rented the truck, Something isn't right about that

Michael Rodriguez and Traevon Robinson are 2 outstanding representatives for UHaul. I ordered a vehicle online and was instructed to go to the location at Foster and Laramie. That office isn't staffed. I was on the phone 40 minutes trying to get a UHaul rep. I then was disconnected. I then spoke to Michael Rodriguez at 4301 N. Cicero. He said please come into my location, we will get this straightened out. That is exactly what he did! He apologized for the mix-up and quickliy got me ready to go.Very professional, helpful, and calming. Traevon Robinson directed me to the rented vehicle. He too apologized for the mix-up, and was very professional, helpful, and caring. He walked the vehicle with me to ensure there were no problems. He explained where to come when i returned to make sure I was satisfied. Dealing with these two gentleman made my day, especially after what had been a dreadful experience. A big thank you to Michael Rodriguez and Traevon Robinson. 4301 N. Cicero is now my go too location for any UHaul needs. Thank you gentlemen!

We reserved for 7am and the location did not open its doors until 7:20am to top it off the amount of people waiting added to our wait time (we arrived at 6:45am) which led to us not getting our rental until 7:40am. There was one person working which was not enough for the amount of us there in the morning. Her help did not arrive until almost 7:40am

The van I was given had a problem with the electrical system. Typically a car's electrical system should be at about 14 volts while the engine is running, the GMC Savana I was loaden would jump up to about 16 volts when the engine was first turned on, and then after a period of a couple minutes drop down to around 12 volts, and then oscilate back and forth between 12 volts and 14 volts. When it is at 12 volts, it is quite likely it is running in whole or in part off the battery. As a result of what is likely a failing alternator, I could have been stranded. I was able to exchange it for a Ford Transit, but was given no way to throughly describe the issue, other than to a clerk who had no idea how cars work and couldnt understand this issue. Quite likely this van will be loaned out again, until the alternator fails completely.

I've rented probably 6 vehicles from the Cicero Ave location over the past couple months, two of which had dangerous levels of damage. The 15' box truck I rented several weeks ago had been in an accident and suffered damage to its steering system to such a degree that I would have to turn the wheel about 30 degrees to the right to have it go straight. The most recent cargo van I rented had a broken windshield which had one of your pre-existing damage stickers on it. This is illegal and if I got pulled over by a cop, I would have gotten a ticket due to your staff's incompetence. When I returned the van and notified the staff, they didnt care at all and said this was normal. What the fuck is wrong with you people? Do you know why broken windshields are illegal? Because if something else hits the window, like a rock kicked up from a semi-truck, the wind shield will shatter and spray me and the other occupant with thousands of tiny glass shards, which in turn could cause me to get in to an accident. What the fuck is the point of these damage waivers or you billing customers for damage, when you refuse to fix it even when it could result in serious bodily injury. What the absolute fuck is wrong with you people.

Make it clear that even with a "truck share" online van reservation, you will have to go in the location to get the key. I'm not sure how that would work after hours. I also had to switch my reservation because your reservation site let me do a "truck share" rental at a location that also can't accommodate after-hours rental.

Not greeted when walking in. Felt rude to interrupt the two girls talking. The women I approached sent me over to the next person instead of being greeted by the open cashier. Moving is stressfull enough. It's nice when companies in the business can uphold the highest customer service and that's from the moment a customer walks in.

Your app never works. 1) I still had to go to the desk and have one of your employees do everything I just did on the app (drivers licenses, etc) ehrn rrenting the truck 2) When returning the truck,your app just keeps asking me to take pictures of the odometer and gas, but won;t move on the next screens, just keeps asking for another photo. 12 should be enough. This is NOT user-error or phone issues - this is a different galaxy phone from the last time I used the app (a year ago), and I have no issues with technology.

I purchased a storage unit, the initial employee who set up my account was AMAZING! I was on auto pay-had the storage paid successfully until March 2022 which is when I decided I will take out my belongings. I spoke to a woman who removed me off auto payment, she understood that I was closing my account, she advised me to come in get my things and we can take care of payment. I still had a few questions so I called two days after my billing date, a gentlemen I spoke with was so rude to me, he ends up arguing with me about billing. I reiterated that the money didn't matter, I'm trying to understand how the process works for closing a storage unit---he still wants to argue with about the MONEY?!?! I was a good standing patient on AUTO PAY! My point is treating me less than a great customer is unacceptable especially in customer service. After our call I was charged for the Unit and a late fee after (conversations recorded correct?) I specially asked to settle my bill upon my arrival because i was still confused regarding the process of closing a unit. Which was never answered!!! BTW The audacity! Also, that same day I was also locked out of my storage that same day-this isn't over.

Very clean facility with good accessibility. We had trouble resolving at least two issues (over a 7 month period) via telephone and emails. Emails were unanswered. Tried calling multiple times at different times and calls were unanswered, eventually bounced to call center in AZ, where staff referred us back to facility, which we could not contact other than showing up in person. This was difficult as we were out of town, and was a frustrating experience. Other than that, the facility met our needs.

I can’t complain too much the location was very clean, i would just recommend for the lights on the timers to be on longer we were in the storage unit and the lights kept going off on us. I would also recommend better signage on truck returns we ended up going to the wrong side to return the truck and had to go all the way around to bring it in the right side. When I was returning the storage unit another family did the same thing so I’m sure it’s an on going issue

The worst experience ever ! ! ! When I made the reservation I was told I 'd get a dolly but when I got there ... I was told with almost maniacally by the man that they didn't have any ! Like he got some sort of thrill out of it ! But that's peanuts compared with the out right lie that I'd get a locker on the first floor I'm almost 62 and am on SSI with a misaligned spine , high blood pressure and diabetes. I But when I got there I was told it was on the 2' ND floor and would have to c arry my boxes and bins up one flight,across a tier,down the stairs,up a flight of stairs and down another tier ! I had to go to another facility who accommodate d me professional y and without a problem. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and with the Illinois attorney general office for fraud not to mention the appropriate socal media not to use your corporation for anything what's so ever

I was not ever told that there is a few for 24 hour storage so when I got there it took about 30 minutes to even get to the point where I had access to the storage. I have an upstairs unit and the ramp up is impossible. Spent over an hour trying to get my UHaul and trailer back down off of it. I had to use the restroom in the facility and someone was there listening to music, sounded like a party. It was overall just way too much for me.

The trucks are dangerous. The ramp is dangerous, the storage units are tiny and overpriced. And the lock you’re forced to buy are terrible.

There was a single employee present and a long wait to be helped. Once I was assisted during checkout the employee was so rushed that he couldn't process my transaction properly. He offered no information on how to access my unit. I attempted to access on my own immediately after being checked out and I was unable to access any of the doors. I returned to ask why and found out he never processed the transaction. I then had to wait again for the single employee to come back from 'hooking up a trailer' which was partly true, the smoke break being the other.. Then this employee was unable to read credit card numbers on his own, I had to repeat phone numbers and card numbers repeatedly over 10 mins for him to finally be able to actually process the purchase of the unit. I then had to ask him multiple questions on how to access, where the unit was located, etc. as he offered no detail proactively.

I explained my storage needs to a young lady who attended to me, in which I let her know and showed her one of the bikes i needed to store. for one there weren't any storage space that could accommodate my need, except for on the top floor of the building and the rest were to small. She had told me that the space I finally settled on only had four steps leading to the space, when it was actually 4 flights of stairs making it totally impossible for me to get my items to the space since there aren't any elevators. Seems to me she needs to understand the layout of the facility a bit more, Info was deceptive and I left very dissatisfied.

This facility has an extremely poor layout. In order to access the unit, you have to climb a super steep ramp that ends in a tiny landing. Good luck getting a moving truck up there. How is there no elevator?!? I rented a unit and then immediately moved out.

Veronica was very polite and helpful. She even gave me a water bottle after I asked if there was a Coke machine. (I was extremely thirsty after moving everything into the facility on a warm, humid day.) My only suggestion for the facility would be to put in a little ramp of concrete to cover the big bump at the threshold between the parking lot and the indoor storage facility. There's a big bump whether you go through the large garage door or through the small door next to it. This makes it difficult to push a fully loaded cart over that bump and into the building. Otherwise, it was a smooth experience!

I went to drop off my stuff on the storage only to be blocked off by all the Trucks, so I had no access to the drive up ramp not only that but, there was a lock on my storage unit that I did not have the key to so I couldn’t take anything in it even if I wanted to. Had to come back the next morning to unload.

My unit was infested with rodents that were alive in my shoe boxes and ultimately came out of clothes that were in bags once I emptied the bags at home... horrible and terrible as well as traumatic.

Worst experience! Only one person staffed and over 7 groups waiting. Waited over 45 minutes for storage unit that I had ordered on the app. Employee was incompetent of uhaul system & unprofessional.

While this facility is convenient, the spaces are rather small for the price. the low ceiling make it difficult for a person of my height, 5' 10" to manuver around the space.
