We hired movers through YOUR website to help us unload. I talked to these movers 4 times to confirm they would be there at 2:00 p.m. And they did NOT show up! Called your toll free number 4 times for help. And every time it took me 30-40 minutes to reach customer service! And I did NOT get any help! Your customer service is HORRIBLE! I called the manager of where I rented the truck and when I returned it after hours, I was still charged an additional $20 for an after hours drop off. Which I had to call AGAIN to get it removed. I waited longer to get my van than it took to move. The first location failed miserably and when sent to second it still took a long time. I purchased a wardrobe box and the clerk gave me the wrong size bar so that was a waste. The good part was the return check in; swift and painless.CHRISSA J.

Efficiency and communication need to be improved. I can believe that I made a reservation at 5pm saying pick up time is 6pm then at the end of the day I ended up having a van a 8pm. Worst still, I ended up not picking up the stuff I intended to cos the client sold it to someone else and left cos I fail the appointment time which was 7pm and I ended up getting there at 9pm all cos by U-Haul and U-Haul took my money for something I never got. You guys made profit out of my money and I still fuel the van top tank they way I took it despite of all what happened and you guys came back to my account and collect the balance $14. I loved the entire experience with your weekend team in Portage Park. This was my very first experience with U-Haul and I would definitely use again, as I have a little more moving to do. Your staff was knowledgeable and helpful and displayed great customer service. I interacted with 2 different front desk people and the gentleman to whom I returned the truck for inspection. Pleasant. All of them! I had one scare when returning the vehicle, the gentleman stated a price that was much higher than I anticipated. It was no trouble, I just went back up front and settled my extra mileage fees. I realized he was not aware of the bundle I purchased. It was no trouble at all. Great team. We walked in to make a reservation. An employee told us there were no trucks available today. None. So, we left. Made a reservation online for a 10 foot truck in two hours. Come back. Told there are no 10 foot trucks, only cargo Vans and 17 footers. What's the point of a reservation? Employee tells us no information about how to return the truck. The u-haul app is a nightmare, so is your website. Never again.Michael P.

Inspection of Vehicle Light(s), turn signal left side rear was malfunctioning. Hazards rear left did not operate. This was safety hazard as well as violation of State Of Illinois Vehicle Code. Otherwise Vehicle Operation was Good.MICHAEL C.

When I downloaded the app to register or order the truck of my choice at this location, have it ready for me . There was a snowstorm prior to ordering but I ordered on app a day before. I had to go with something I was not happy with. Tall older white guy with glasses hesitated to digging out truck. Instead offered the small truck instead of cargo van. I will not go there AGAIN! Uhaul should consider making the vans all wheel drive. With the snowstorm I spent countless hours digging myself out of being stuck in the snow instead of moving. I easily spent 4 hours altogether digging myself out.ANDREA S.

I picked up my truck yesterday that was used Not clean at all but I was doing an emergency move due to this pandemic and hardship time. So I was in a hurry to even complain. I get to unit load the truck get ready to leave and truck would not start I called store where I was told I couldn't get any help from I was told I needed to call roadside assistance and if the truck don't start I would have to get another one. This was very stressful I was literally stranded in this truck looking online to contact roadside assistance The thought of even having to sit there or re load another truck was horrible. I have never experienced this service with u haul. I had to think fast because it was getting late and if I didn't make it before 7 pm I would have a $20 late charge that of course I can't afford right now So I called someone to give me a jump and that's how I was able to complete my move by 4 and dropped off by 5 . The truck needs a new battery I believe those trucks should be checked before handing them over to anyone. That was not safe at all.Vivian F.

The Sales Associate Veronica was a breath of fresh air. I'm so used to walking into a Uhaul location & having some male employee treat me like I'm an idiot because I'm a gay male. Not today, Veronica had a smile on her face (yes it was so welcoming I could tell from under her mask) from the moment I walked in & accommodated me perfectly. original paperwork was correct with 13/16 gas but return pointed to 7/8 .... also i saw ding and wasn't told adequate explanation KEPT SAYING the X .says it's OK but my paperwork didn't have an X in anything saying "received with ding" would be best for actual picture showing ding AS WELL AS YOUR EXPENSIVE STICKERS ON THE VEHICLEBEN C.

I had a difficult time at pick up trying to use the app/online check in. It wouldn't accept my alternate phone number and I didn't have the other info with me (passport, etc). I was able to go inside and check in and Lou Gonzalez and Hector, who helped me and prepped the truck, were awesome. There was a single employee present and a long wait to be helped. Once I was assisted during checkout the employee was so rushed that he couldn't process my transaction properly. He offered no information on how to access my unit. I attempted to access on my own immediately after being checked out and I was unable to access any of the doors. I returned to ask why and found out he never processed the transaction. I then had to wait again for the single employee to come back from 'hooking up a trailer' which was partly true, the smoke break being the other.. Then this employee was unable to read credit card numbers on his own, I had to repeat phone numbers and card numbers repeatedly over 10 mins for him to finally be able to actually process the purchase of the unit. I then had to ask him multiple questions on how to access, where the unit was located, etc. as he offered no detail proactively.nick k. | First Impressions

I explained my storage needs to a young lady who attended to me, in which I let her know and showed her one of the bikes i needed to store. for one there weren't any storage space that could accommodate my need, except for on the top floor of the building and the rest were to small. She had told me that the space I finally settled on only had four steps leading to the space, when it was actually 4 flights of stairs making it totally impossible for me to get my items to the space since there aren't any elevators. Veronica was very polite and helpful. She even gave me a water bottle after I asked if there was a Coke machine. (I was extremely thirsty after moving everything into the facility on a warm, humid day.) My only suggestion for the facility would be to put in a little ramp of concrete to cover the big bump at the threshold between the parking lot and the indoor storage facility. There's a big bump whether you go through the large garage door or through the small door next to it. This makes it difficult to push a fully loaded cart over that bump and into the building.
