Rented a pickup truck and a utility trailer with ramp to move a heavy tiller rented from another company. Check out was fairly quick. Equipment was ready to go at reservation time.. I got the truck and trailer back to the shop just after closing time. Fortunately there was an employee inside who came to the door. She told me leave the truck and trailer where they were and drop the key in the designated slot.

Make sure when equipment goes bad, to have it replace before renting it out again. I heard I was lucky that the back door of the trailer was able to open because it was struggling to work prior, and it had ruined again after I returned it and the gentleman tested the door and discovered it. The entire time, I was clueless to that being the case until a manager came to investigate it. Although I was very lucky, it is not a particularly great practice to do that to a customer. Especially when it could mean struggling with their rental and potentially being blamed for a damaged door.

My experience with U-Haul was overall good in terms of the vehicle itself, but the customer service definitely left much to be desired. At the beginning, I had some difficulties picking up the truck. I wanted to use the mobile app to do everything automatically, but when I tried to open the truck, I wasn’t sure what the app was saying. Because of that, I had to go inside the office and speak with a representative.
Unfortunately, the person there was not friendly at all and even a bit rude. Since I don’t speak English well, it was difficult for me to communicate during the process of making the reservation and picking up the vehicle. This made the experience more stressful than it needed to be.
On the other hand, the cashier who helped me afterward was calm and professional, which made things a bit better. In the end, the experience was just “okay.” The main issue was that the app should allow you to pick up the keys and the truck without needing to go inside and deal with someone, especially when the customer doesn’t speak the language.

Would recommend to friends and neighbors nearby for convenience. What I did not like was the tank was only 1/4 full, and the trucks do not have an EZ pass. I was driving three hours to Michigan and an EZ pass would have made it, well, EZ-er.

only complaint is the gasoline reading was 1/4 higher. i was in a hurry and didnt notice till I pulled out. I rent from this location 6 times a year and always satisfied with rentals and awesome staff,so I paid the extra gas and mentioned it the next day. Im sure it was just a mistake,but learned a lesson

The only issue I had was getting my things out of storage. My storage space is above the store. This time there were a homeless man resting near the trucks that was parked up there. I drove down and had to come back because I didn’t feel safe. I didn’t come back the next day and told one of the UHaul employees. He said I could have called the police. One employee was nice and drove my rented van up the hill so I could load it up. The turnaround on the hill was too tight for me. Great experience with one concern.

Rented from this U-Haul location on Sunday, 8/10. I was given a 20’ truck with only one wheel on the rear driver side, which also had every lug nut missing on that single wheel.
Luckily the wheel came off as I was attempting to reverse to park, but could you imagine how bad it would’ve been if the wheel fell off any earlier? Or if I chose to get on the highway?
The staff apologized, but it doesn’t mean anything if they’re careless enough to put customer’s lives at risk. PLEASE do a better job of inspecting your trucks, if thats even being done.

My uhaul pickup was moved 3 times. Had to call the 2nd time to get it moved closer. Was almost asked to drive 30 minutes out to get my truck and then that turned to 45 minutes. Called and had to downsize the truck size from 20 to 15 which made moving a bit harder. Finally also got them to find a closer place with that size truck. Still had to drive 20 minutes to pick it up. They did give us extra mileage which was nice. Average experience nothing crazy good or bad just really stressful and frustrating to be switched day of the move.

STOP SCAMMING PEOPLE. Applying coverage and rental of dallies and pads that we didn’t want to apply or add on our order. Unfortunately, you guys were able to fool my dad because he trusted you all and he didn’t read the paperwork you all made him sign when he got to the location to pick up the 9’ van. I SELECTED ON THE APP THAT I DIDN’T WANT TO PAY FOR THE COVERAGE AND THE DOLLIES & PADS BECAUSE WE DIDN’T NEED ANY OF THAT and on the paperwork that you made my dad sign you wrote down that I WANTED to pay for coverage and for the dollies and pads. I have proof that I didn’t select any of that on the app and proof of the paperwork that you made my dad sign. Scammers. Terrible. I hate this company and the people that manage it. Such terrible human beings taking advantage of others. Playing with fire on a world full of laws, huh?

All is good but when I went to return the trailer after hours there was a giant and pretty deep puddle in the lot that prevented me from parking the trailer in the designated spot, where I would have detached the trailer was about 8” deep of rain water, not the fault of the employees of the location. I rent a lot from this location and have no complaints about the staff or the items for rent there!

Actually let the customer see the contract they are signing, not just have them sign the box and "take your word for it". That way, you can actually catch any mistakes on the reservations if there are any. Also, actually perform the inspection that was promised on the website when you are renting a tow dolly OR change the wording on the website if you are not going to actually perform an inspection to know if the equipment the customer is renting is "actually" compatible with the set up as recommended by the website. The equipment we rented was fine but the tire straps were worn and needed to be replaced. They barely fit into the tie downs.

I just returned the truck. When I rented it, the gas gauge dropped from 1/4 to as low as 1/8 and settled somewhere in between. I just returned it at the same level it was at when I rented it. First the guy told me to go put $3 of gas in it; I had a Lyft arriving and didn’t want to miss my ride to the airport. Then he told me he would have to charge me $5. When I pushed back, the supervisor in charge got miffed, told me I should have taken a picture of the gas gauge when I rented it and then he told the tech to charge me the full amount, which was $6.50. In the scheme of renting the vehicle for a week, this seems to be a very petty response. Be assured, I will not rent from this location again.
Very disappointed at the pettiness of the senior person in charge.

Staff was friendly and helpful in getting the storage unit and truck backed up to where we could unload however I was blocked in by another vehicle before I was finished and couldn’t leave to fill up the truck. Access ramp to storage is narrow and would not be forgiving to inexperienced drivers, would recommend an easier facility to get into.

Also why require 24 hour notice for access to a Ubox when every time Ubox never moved to be accessed. Happened in Austin repeatedly ( thought it was just that location) and happened in Chicago.

You do not have enough staff to meet demand. I was in line for 30 mins to check in plus the actual process. It was packed with people. The clerks could not keep up 1 customer after another and constant 10 people in line. They were very professional and tried to do best they could. Would not recommend because it's awfully busy and require to dedicate 1-2 hours that I do not have.

You need more people in the store or on the phones.
Training for phone calls would help too. No one should be left on hold for 30 min without as much as a “sorry for the inconvenience” checkin.
This happened multiple times too. And what’s with dodging calls entirely and sending to UHaul customer care who just has to do the same thing.
Units were fine. Hours were fine. Customer care was not.

The manager Mike as well as the rest of the staff Keyomi, Lou etc go out of their way to make sure you have all your moving needs in place. As far as the moving truck, packing supplies and storage unit that is an appropriate size for your belongings. I highly recommend this facility. And feel the security makes a woman who needs to go into a unit at any time of the day feel safe.

I purchased a storage unit, the initial employee who set up my account was AMAZING! I was on auto pay-had the storage paid successfully until March 2022 which is when I decided I will take out my belongings. I spoke to a woman who removed me off auto payment, she understood that I was closing my account, she advised me to come in get my things and we can take care of payment. I still had a few questions so I called two days after my billing date, a gentlemen I spoke with was so rude to me, he ends up arguing with me about billing. I reiterated that the money didn't matter, I'm trying to understand how the process works for closing a storage unit---he still wants to argue with about the MONEY?!?! I was a good standing patient on AUTO PAY! My point is treating me less than a great customer is unacceptable especially in customer service. After our call I was charged for the Unit and a late fee after (conversations recorded correct?) I specially asked to settle my bill upon my arrival because i was still confused regarding the process of closing a unit. Which was never answered!!! BTW
The audacity! Also, that same day I was also locked out of my storage that same day-this isn't over.

Very clean facility with good accessibility. We had trouble resolving at least two issues (over a 7 month period) via telephone and emails. Emails were unanswered. Tried calling multiple times at different times and calls were unanswered, eventually bounced to call center in AZ, where staff referred us back to facility, which we could not contact other than showing up in person. This was difficult as we were out of town, and was a frustrating experience. Other than that, the facility met our needs.

I can’t complain too much the location was very clean, i would just recommend for the lights on the timers to be on longer we were in the storage unit and the lights kept going off on us. I would also recommend better signage on truck returns we ended up going to the wrong side to return the truck and had to go all the way around to bring it in the right side. When I was returning the storage unit another family did the same thing so I’m sure it’s an on going issue

The worst experience ever ! ! !
When I made the reservation I was told I 'd get a dolly but when I got there ... I was told with almost maniacally by the man that they didn't have any ! Like he got some sort of thrill out of it !
But that's peanuts compared with the out right lie that I'd get a locker on the first floor
I'm almost 62 and am on SSI with a misaligned spine , high blood pressure and diabetes.
I
But when I got there I was told it was on the 2' ND floor and would have to c arry my boxes and bins up one flight,across a tier,down the stairs,up a flight of stairs and down another tier !
I had to go to another facility who accommodate d me professional y and without a problem.
I am filing a complaint with the BBB and with the Illinois attorney general office for fraud not to mention the appropriate socal media not to use your corporation for anything what's so ever

I was not ever told that there is a few for 24 hour storage so when I got there it took about 30 minutes to even get to the point where I had access to the storage. I have an upstairs unit and the ramp up is impossible. Spent over an hour trying to get my UHaul and trailer back down off of it. I had to use the restroom in the facility and someone was there listening to music, sounded like a party. It was overall just way too much for me.

Office was well staffed yet there was still a line for check in. My person was very helpful in changing my original reservation to a larger unit, although there was some confusion about whether I indeed had a reservation to begin with. Facility was clean and provided multiple carts for unloading/loading.

The trucks are dangerous. The ramp is dangerous, the storage units are tiny and overpriced. And the lock you’re forced to buy are terrible.

There was a single employee present and a long wait to be helped. Once I was assisted during checkout the employee was so rushed that he couldn't process my transaction properly. He offered no information on how to access my unit. I attempted to access on my own immediately after being checked out and I was unable to access any of the doors. I returned to ask why and found out he never processed the transaction. I then had to wait again for the single employee to come back from 'hooking up a trailer' which was partly true, the smoke break being the other.. Then this employee was unable to read credit card numbers on his own, I had to repeat phone numbers and card numbers repeatedly over 10 mins for him to finally be able to actually process the purchase of the unit. I then had to ask him multiple questions on how to access, where the unit was located, etc. as he offered no detail proactively.

I explained my storage needs to a young lady who attended to me, in which I let her know and showed her one of the bikes i needed to store. for one there weren't any storage space that could accommodate my need, except for on the top floor of the building and the rest were to small. She had told me that the space I finally settled on only had four steps leading to the space, when it was actually 4 flights of stairs making it totally impossible for me to get my items to the space since there aren't any elevators. Seems to me she needs to understand the layout of the facility a bit more, Info was deceptive and I left very dissatisfied.

This facility has an extremely poor layout. In order to access the unit, you have to climb a super steep ramp that ends in a tiny landing. Good luck getting a moving truck up there. How is there no elevator?!? I rented a unit and then immediately moved out.

Veronica was very polite and helpful. She even gave me a water bottle after I asked if there was a Coke machine. (I was extremely thirsty after moving everything into the facility on a warm, humid day.) My only suggestion for the facility would be to put in a little ramp of concrete to cover the big bump at the threshold between the parking lot and the indoor storage facility. There's a big bump whether you go through the large garage door or through the small door next to it. This makes it difficult to push a fully loaded cart over that bump and into the building. Otherwise, it was a smooth experience!

I went to drop off my stuff on the storage only to be blocked off by all the Trucks, so I had no access to the drive up ramp not only that but, there was a lock on my storage unit that I did not have the key to so I couldn’t take anything in it even if I wanted to. Had to come back the next morning to unload.

While this facility is convenient, the spaces are rather small for the price. the low ceiling make it difficult for a person of my height, 5' 10" to manuver around the space.
