I went to 11th St where I reserved a truck and I got there and they couldn't accept payment and I had to go to Millar to get a truck, they were also going to charge me $182 when the location on Millar was shocked and wondered why so much when it was actually $128. I have used uhaul many times and this time it was a gong show. I was told if I had a refund that I would have to go back up to the Millar location to get the refund or else a check would be sent out. I drove from the west side to Millar location just to find out they put it on my card and it will take a couple days. I made 2 trips across the city when in all actuality it should have been completely done at the 11th st location. I'm greatful that Millar was able to accommodate me but that is not good business sense at all. When I was at the 11st location the lady working had no idea where anything was, we were walking around and I was told to STEP OVER TOP OF A MOP BUCKET that was in the middle of the entrance while trying to find a debit machine. This encounter was extremely unprofessional, unorganized, and a waste of my time and gas running across the city twice.

I was very disappointed that I had ordered and budgeted for a trailer but had to get a truck that was 3 times my budget because the trailer was not there even though I had reserved it. A discount would of been very much appreciated. Staff were very friendly and cheerful.

The trailer had dirt, screws and broken bits of plastic in it when we picked it up. When we returned it the person inspected it and asked what we hauled and made a comment on possibly charging a cleaning fee. We hauled equipment and had to pick out the screws and pieces of metal before loading. If there is a possibility of charging a cleaning fee to a customer the trailer should be clean before a customer comes to pick up the trailer. Be sure to note and take pictures of the condition of whatever you rent before to avoid conflict. The person inspecting the trailer when we returned it was polite when we told them what we had hauled and there were no issues with customer support, everyone was very friendly. But it would not be great to get charged for cleaning something that you picked up dirty so take note of initial conditions.

Move in instructions said our unit was move in ready, and we would have access up 10pm. Arrived around 8pm and unit was locked with another lock. Could not move in our items until the next day. Was left with a full Uhaul truck we could not unload and had to keep overnight. When asked Uhaul staff, was told it is procedure to apply a Uhaul lock when storage unit has no lock. But we arrived the day the booking started, so not sure why a lock was applied before we even got there. Instructions were not clear on this process.

The customer service person needs to explain the gas fuel position on contract and need to see if actual in vehicle matches. Ran into dispute over this at check out. Question: why not have the truck fully filled with gas and before check out fill it to full mark? So simple.

I would not recommend uhaul and won't ever use them again simply because they force their customers to use their "app" after hours. Their app is useless and they are aware that this has been an issue FOR YEARS and don't ever fix it. After speaking to someone about it, I found out that they just DON'T CARE!! What kind of customer service is that for such a large well-known company? And how about a policy to send a vehicle out with a full tank of fuel and then the customer return it full. Saves playing a guessing game. That's just common sense. Why is that so hard to figure out?

I arrived to the location to reserve a car hauler, they helped me reserve one no problems there. The yard to get the trailers is a complete mud hole, the trailer that they reserved for me was parked in the middle of a large puddle, no one was around to help me hook up so I had to get dirty and wet to hook up. Not my idea of an easy hook up. I've been to this location several times and it's not usually like this and I know it's the time of year but the trailers shouldn't be parked in the middle of a water hole for customers to get.

I booked my moving truck a month before the date it was needed. The day before pick up, I was contacted by employees via text messages that included my rental number, offering me discounts to take a trailer to “my drop off location” but was actually 6 hours away from my drop off location. When questioning the information via text I was told to contact the call centre. Then was left a voicemail saying my pick up location was changed. I called to verify the information and was told it was correct because “Saskatchewan is a disaster” and “every truck is double booked” and now had to drive 100 km to pick up the truck. UHaul offered an extra day and 180 free km for the inconvenience. Which was fine, however completely necessary. On the phone with an employee he stated many times during the recorded conversation if we picked up the truck at 8pm, the drop off time would be 8pm as they operated on a 24 hour system. Called the day before drop off to verify this information as the app would not work, and was rudely told by a call centre employee that this information was incorrect and that “it wasn’t their fault we picked up late and burned a day” and would be charged an extra day and a late fee if not returned by the time they demanded. Employee was rude, inconsiderate and unhelpful. Very inconvenienced to unload the truck in a hurry and return to the location after hours. Once arriving at location, again the app would not work and had to call the call centre to have them verify the truck had been dropped off. Seems as if UHaul does what is best for them and attempts to get as much money as possible from the inconveniences created by their poor planning. Will not be using this service again, nor recommending to anyone.

First of all, my reserved truck was not made available on time and I was told if I need it at the time I booked for, I would have to drive around 190 KMs, which of course was not possible at a short notice of 2 hours. This forced me to pick up the truck the day next to my scheduled moving out. So, I had to pay extra rent. Moreover, I did not get the equipment I reserved with the truck. On the top of that, the manager at the location 2310 Millar Ave was rude and clearly biased (racist to some extent) with me. When I asked him why the equipment was reserved when it was not available in the store, he answered me rudely just stating that the trolly I reserved is not in the store, without telling me the reason. Just a few minutes later, another customer, not of the same race as that of me asked the same question. Manage this time, in a mannered way explained to her that it is just his second day in this role and he is trying to fix this shortage of equipment with many other problems. I was shocked to see his two face in a matter of just few minutes.This was my worst experience ever at any service provider in my life. I hope it gets fixed and none other has to go through it.

Picking the truck took 45 minutes which wasted our time.The staff kept going back and forth with registration.My details were taken 4 times by 3 different staff,which was an inconvenience. You need to stay on top of things like repairs to big overhead doors. In my 5 months of rental there was always one of the doors broke down. They need to be fixed sooner than later. When the don’t work huge inconvenience for loading.

Suggestion: clean the truck cab before renting. There was a serious amount of pet hair in the cab (even in the cup holders) and the windshield was dirty on the inside (enough that we had to wash it). That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff were excellent. Service was friendly, and the yard hand was very helpful in getting me hooked up and tested. The line-up inside got fairly long when I returned (after quickly getting my trailer light socket checked by Merlin Motors after we had an intial problem with trailer lights), but all staff did their best to get me going quickly. My only concern is that there was only one person on at the reception & check-in desk. which was a little light in my opinion - considering the morning line up of people with long days ahead who were antsy to get going quickly. Please consider having two staff members on at the desk for at least the first few hours of the mornings. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback.

Spent nearly 30 minutes waiting for them to find a vehicle for me to drive because they overbooked. Drove 35 km and had to spend $50 to fill the vehicle, the vehicle was either not truly full or it’s extremely inefficient. I voiced my concerns they said it was my responsibility to check how full the vehicle was. This is upsetting as a returning customer.

The man who unhooked the trailer did not or was not strong enough to hold the trailer from rolling forward and the hookup slammed into the bumper of our new Honda Passport. Had I know. He was that weak, I would have disconnected it plus English is not his first language - so not sure what to do about the damage to the bumper of our vehicle?? And today -Friday I got another call from another person whose English was not his first language so difficult to understand him but he wanted to know when I was bringing the trailer back? I dropped the trailer off at about 9:40 Wednesday morning. So now I question did I pay for a trailer from Monday afternoon when I picked it up in Weyburn to Friday? This guy today said it was supposed to be back at 3:00 pm today (Friday) so now I’m curious was I overcharged? I had used this location before and had no problems with the service but now it appears there are new to canada workers there who not only are brutal to understand but their organizational skills are lacking great. I was very disappointed with the staff as well as my experience. Staff did not know what they were doing, did not explain things well, and had issues with their computer systems both on the day of renting the uhaul as well as on the return. I was given false information when I rented. And overcharged for the return and my refund would not go through on their system to the point I had to ask for a cash refund so I would not be late. Not happy at all!

My trailer had chains that were ground down and unsafe.   More disturbingly the workers were taught to twist the tow chains which is not allowed.   In addition they did not know how to shorten the chains to avoid both issues. Both employees stated that's how they were trained and connect the trailers. For people that potentially don't know any better they are given connections that are wrong. More importantly they are spreading very bad information to the customer base.

The after-hours checkout process was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a uhaul. First, the barcode we were directed to out in the yard kept taking us to uhaul website to make a reservation. Then it forces you to download the app and didn’t not provide an online option. We were out in the cold for 20 minutes trying to figure it out, and just as we’re about to just drop off the key, we found another barcode by the lock box that worked. Please fix the barcode.

Hi, I just wanted to let you know about my experience getting a rental. I did the online bpoking and self pickup. The initial booking was easy, but the location of pickup was changed to a much further location. Then I arrived on time to get my truck, but the app wouldnt work properly, and the online sign in wasnt working as well. I had to call for help a few times. The call center workers were amazing and so helpful. It took me 45 minutes to figure everything out and be able to get going with the truck rental. Then it tells me that not only do I pay for mileage, but ALSO for gas! And all of the other hidden surprise fees! I was expecting to pay about 50.00 for the rental, but then it adds up to 120.00! I only used it for 3 hrs and drove 55 km. The advertising for 19.95 rental is so misleading. I would rather it say closer to the actual price then to be surprised with such a hike. The whole process of self pickup was frustrating and complicated. It would be much nicer if the information was taken beforehand so the pickup is quicker. I am disappointed with the service.

When we picked up the rental truck, it had not been swept out at all. There was snow, dirt and trash inside the box. We swept and cleaned after we used it but would have appreciated it being clean for us to use. I mentioned it to the staff when we returned the truck.

I was shocked that this location did not have tap. I know it’s my fault for not carrying my card, but I have been able to pay with my phone almost everywhere, so this seems quite outdated. The worker helping me was very nice though which was nice! We were also very disappointed about the end of experience when we were returning the truck. We were cutting it close to be fair, but we waited for someone to meet us at our truck for about 5 minutes (totally fine), and then went inside to check to make sure we were supposed to wait. They reassured us someone would meet us at our truck for return procedures to be followed. Someone came and helped us out and then when it was time to get a refund for the deposit, the doors to the store were locked. It was 5 minutes before closing, so they should have been open to do a quick refund. Not only that, but they saw us and knew we were returning the truck. Moving is already stressful enough and having to drive so far out of our way to go get a refund another day is frustrating. To improve the experience for the next customer the store should stay open and unlocked during the hours that are posted on the door and online.

There storage was blocked by snow for almost 24 hours. When they cleared the snow it piled up in front of the storage container. Had to shovel it out ourselves. Trailer was filled with snow. And they wanted to rent it to us for less than 24 hours with no discount. Very frustrating that they were not prepared for the weather accordingly

Very disorganized. Out of 3 staff only 1 showed up in the morning. Two of the three items i ordered were not available for the move then i was charged for them anyway. After much hassle i was able to reverse the unnecessary charges eventually but it was still difficult throughout the process. I spent about 2 hours at the U-Haul site today trying to work out these issues that should have taken about a half hour.

It took me over 2 hours to get everything filled out the paper work to get a storage room, and talked to 4 different people. It was very frustrating and took up time I needed to move. So I couldn't get as much moved in to the unit in the time I had the uhaul.

In early December, I met with Alpesh and booked a 5 x 10 storage unit for end of December, and a truck for the same time. When I came on December 29th to get the truck, i asked Mohit Gill to show me the storage unit. What he showed me was a 5 x 8. I told him that was not what I agreed to. Then I went to load the stuff, while Mohit was to find the proper sized unit. When I got back I was told that he had assigned a 10 x 10 unit at a much higher price. I said no, Then I had to wait half an hour while Mohit was busy with something else. When he finally was free he offered me a 6 x 10 for more money. I said no. I finally got the 5 x 10 that I had reserved and moved in.

Convenient storage process upon arrival. Mattress dolley and normal dolleys provided for hallways which was extremely helpful Can pull U-Haul truck right into storage bay which is nice during winter.

My experience with the staff at this location was frustrating due to perceived incompetence as well as the fact that few of them could speak English in a way that was readily understandable. As such, I tried to use the U-haul app to avoid the frustration with the staff but the app has its own set of failures. And why does the app allow you to book things that your location, when you go to pick it up, doesn’t have?? That is nonsense! My perception of U-haul over all is that it is a greedy corporation that has cornered the market on cheap DIY moving and vehicle rentals that doesn’t care at all about the discrepancy between its advertised experience and the reality of the the rental experience which often includes great frustration, stress, and anxiety. My hope is to never use U-haul again if I can help it.

My experience was not so good. The staffs were friendly but wasn't helpful at all. They gave me a paper to find my storage and after driving everywhere, I couldn't. I had to stop and ask random people I see. When I finally got to the unit, I didn't know how to open the lock, I had to go find someone again. The customer service don't cater to people who are renting foe the first time. They assume everyone knows what they are doing. They are such limited information. I was so displeased and no one even offered to say, ' do you want me to come and help you'. Nope. They just give you a paper and send you on my way, even when I told my difficulties several times.

The staff were not unfriendly. However, I had booked a self storage unit well in advance but the staff didn’t seem to understand that. It took them over half an hour to figure it all out and ended up relegating a unit to me that had some one else’s lock on it. So then I had to go back inside and spend another 20 minutes finding another one for me. They finally figured it out.The whole time it seemed like they didn’t have available what I had booked on the website. The prospect of moving to a new city and not having anywhere to put all your possessions is a very stressful thought. Additionally, it seemed like only one staff member was proficient in serving customers while the other two were almost helpless to serve anyone without the help of the proficient staff member. While I got what I booked in the end, it was not a straightforward or simple process and in fact it produced a lot of anxiety. I don’t really want to use u-haul again after that.

Great facility. Very helpful staff. Very clean units which I appreciated alot. Only issue I had was that my access card when swiped upon entry would say I was leaving this caused the alarms to go off every time I entered. I tried swiping until it said welcome but the alarms still went off. Not a big deal overall

So far - my move in date is Friday coming up. I’ve been charged twice now one day after another. U-Haul says it’s not true. I have the bank statements. I’ve not moved in yet but when I went to the location to discus the yard was a dumping site. So I’m concerned about being double charged and the state of the property outside.

When I tried to get service for a storage that I was not expecting to get, we got yelled at and were absolutely refused any service, with customer service knowing quite well of my situation, everything was just awful...upon arrival service was good but when trying to dispute a problem the manager was unwilling to help and was also aggressive!
