Identify vehicle damage prior to customer pick-up. I easily identified 20 unmarked locations where damage was present. The gentleman who went around with me was nice, but it shouldnt be the customers job to find damage from previous trips and identify them, leaving the potential for them to be charged for damages. It's just bad business.

Gave me wrong mileage, wrong gas level, etc. I think they have given me data for the wrong van. It was my fault that I didn't check before heading out. They tried to charge me $25.00 for gas and I only put on 20 miles and only had the van for an hour. I would have to think twice the next time I need a rental van.

We have rented vehicles from this location many times. This is the first time we experienced a cargo van that was not cleaned out. We cleaned it before returning as we believe in returning something we rent in at least as good condition as when we picked it up. As mentioned this was a first occurrence out of many previous rental experiences. No harm, no foul.

Customer service was fine, but the truck was awful. The driver's door didn't like to close and the steering was so loose/vague it felt unsafe to drive on the highway. Please maintain your trucks better. I understand they are typically rented by people that regularly drive Corollas and end up taking some abuse, but come on guys!

Although the inside of the van was clean, the windshield was all buggy. I tried to clean it but it was too high to reach. I also suggest that someone take 5 minutes to explain the instrumentation. When I pulled out, I realized that the passenger side mirror was out of whack and I could not figure out how to adjust it until I got home and read the manual and discovered it required to be adjusted manually.

My reservation wasn’t correct they didn’t have a check for me to use that was the size I requested some I upgraded to a bigger truck but they gave me a hard time about it when I was checking out the bigger truck I wish I would’ve just given me the bigger truck and said sorry for the inconvenience but no they just said to give me a hard time I think I’ll be going back to the city next time I need to rent his truck they were a lot nicer in Reading

Reserved a pickup truck but it was not available on time. I had to change my plans around to wait longer and then accept a box truck instead which didn’t work out as well for what I needed it for.

The store manager needs to be fired. I set up my trailer experience over a month prior through your call center. The representative there assured me that they could accommodate my reservation for one - two days if I reserved with enough time in advance. Instead, I received a store manager who was very snooty and bossy. I had hoped for a pleasant experience from her, but she was extremely inflexible with me while being extremely accommodating with other customers who walked in for a last-minute reservation. All I wanted was to extend my trailer reservation from one day to two in order to accommodate my college-aged daughter's moving schedule. Instead of giving me an additional rental day, the manager refused service to me and immediately gave my rental to a walk-in customer! I was willing to pay for the additional time, but the manager refused to serve me. To add injury to insult, the store mechanic also became defensive. This is quite the worst customer service I have experienced! I would not send even my worst enemy there for service!

Equipment was good, I had just walked in to grab a truck (I didn’t reserve it early,) and there was just a bunch of mud left all over the inside and outside around the bottom of the truck. It was no big deal to me personally but I didn’t want anyone to think that I did it when I dropped it off the next day. There was also a tire pressure light on in the inside, and he had reassured me that the sensor was broken and nothing was actually wrong with the pressure. I didn’t mind because I was just happy there was a truck available last minute. The man was very nice that helped us at the counter. I was a little skeptical, however, because he had told me it was going to be 15 dollars a day for the travel safe insurance, and I got charges 45 dollars?? Very disappointing especially because I had it returned within 24 hours anyway.

The gentleman who checked me in was vulgar and used profanity to complain about the phone call he fielded before assisting me. He was impolite. The woman and man who finalized my return delivered an ideal experience and are the reason the experience was acceptable.

I rented 2 times in 1 week. The first time I was offered the option to decline the insurance which I always do. The second time I was never asked and assumed they were using my records from a couple of days prior and duplicating. When I returned the trailer I noticed I was charged $15.95 (I believe) for insurance. I was never given an option to decline or accept. The person just added it to my contract without my knowledge. This really upset me. The employees that were there at check in did zero to correct this situation. I will most likely never go back to that location because of this. There are others in the area when I have the need. Highly dissatisfied !!!! I still expect this unwanted charge to be credited to my card.

The location is easy to find, very simple drop off process, and great staff.

I initially had my reservation for Cocalico Self Store. They are not open on Sunday, so I tried to use the app to pick up the truck. The App froze on the "verifying information" part after entering all of my info. I called the 800 Uhaul number and was on hold for 30 minutes. I then drove to Shillington to change my reservation. I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with your process of pick up for situations like this. I set up the reservation with the office when they werer open 3 days previously. I was assured that I would easily receive a 4 digit code to open up a lock box to get the keys. I will NEVER use this service again and will be writing a poor review on the App Apple site.

The location was fine. However, the reservation was screwed up. At least Orlando was able to "fix" it. Also, the truck's side mirror was broken when I picked it up, making it a huge safety hazard. I had to tape it in place so I could use it.

I did not request "Safe Move" coverage. I'm sure my conversation with the U-Haul representative was recorded. On the day of the move, I was busy so my brother picked up the rental. He did not notice the charge and told me the location representative did not highlight the charge. I have used U-Haul for every move I made or helped with in the past 3 years. This is unacceptable. Please refund the $14.00 charge.

When I walked in, the manager was telling another worker about a guy that left the store with an “empty box stack” and if he did it again he would get in trouble.....not something that should be discussed in front of customers. When I came back to return my truck, I walked in and heard the same girl (she was the store manager) swearing in the back room. She checked in my truck and did everything outside. When she came in she handed me my receipt. I told her that I wanted to use a different credit card and she snapped and said “you need to tell us that before check out” I replied back and said that I was going to tell her when she came back in but apparently THAT was too late. I can honestly say that I have been a retail manager for many years and I would NEVER want someone like her managing my store and dealing with customers. Her customer service skills are subpar at best. The likelihood of me ever using this uhaul place again because of her and her lack of professionalism is extremely slim

Second time rentting a trailer, and charged different price than quoted. Lady manager has no customer survice training. Very mean nasty. Now they charged for 2 day rental. Rented one day. Saturday 8 a.m. until Sunday. When they opened, 9 a.m. charged 48 hour rental. And she said, don't come before 9 am, we are closed. And you will only be charged one day. Well, she charged my card 2 days. Even the workers there said she is a bitch, they wish she would transfer somewhere else.

For a local rental I expected a truck with more use on it. Mine just had an oil change, was clean (except for some cigarette smoke) and worked great.

Disclosure; This comment has nothing to do with the location. The location was very good and personnel were very helpful. Locations and products are good. Scheduling pickups and drop offs online need attention. I hoped by reserving a trailer at a location of my choice days ahead of time, the trailer would be made available at that location. It is extremely inconvenient for U-Haul to schedule at any other location other than the preferred pickup location. It is untimely and costly for the customer to have to go 20-30 minutes out of the way to pickup a trailer. That should be the whole idea behind selecting a location, for convenience of the customer. If trailers are unavailable at the preferred location it should be stated as such online when scheduling, not after the customer made the reservation. Drop offs as well should follow the same procedures. As a customer it is entirely unacceptable to be informed to drop off a unit at a location other than the one selected during the reservation process. This part is easy to change but was also inconvenient to have to call and request the change. Resolve these issues and U-Haul services will be a more pleasurable experience.

Your Shillington, PA location on Route 222 is a very fine, well oiled machine. Very knowledgeable, personable, courteous, professional staff, and on the ball. Don't know how your other locations do, but you don't find enough other kinds of businesses run as well as this particular part of U-haul does. Thank you
