Not a particularly inviting location BUT the people here were top notch, nice folks who processed things quickly. I was on my way in a couple of minutes after dropoff. It was a great location for me because my destination for the truck was only a three minute drive away. I would recommend this location for anyone in this part of CLT.Frank M.

Was not informed until I picked up van that the UHaul lot was closed for the evening and I would have to make arrangements to return van the next morning at 8 am. That was moderately inconvenient. The indication was that this location was open 24/7. Following the app directions, I tried to return the vehicle at 7pm. The lot was claimed closed and locked, so I had to return it the following day, making another trip. Very frustrating. None of the communication on the website indicates that equipment CANNOT be returned to this location after 5pm. Nor did the facility call, text, or email me in advance to inform me of this. The gates to this facility close at 5pm, which means you cannot retrieve your vehicle after 5pm either. Since I was not told this, I had to park my car at a nearby gas station, which is completely unsafe, and have someone bring me back to pick up my car later that evening, while I still had the Uhaul, to take it back to my home for safekeeping. This meant, I needed someone else to help me get home from the Uhaul facility after returning the truck. It was a huge inconvenience that could have been avoided. If this was explicit on the site regarding this location, I would have chosen a different location to pick up and return the truck that was more convenient to my situation.Christopher M.

Staff at the location took receipts for Auto Hauler tire and wheel that had to be replaced at a small town in Wyoming. They said they would handle submission and reimbursement for the expense. This service made our moving day awful. When we arrived, the truck of 15â€ that we rented was not available so they had to give us a 10â€ meaning a smaller one instead. This caused our moving to be more complicated and we had to make two trips instead of one. That's not all, the equipment that we rented was also not Available. AC in truck stopped working during the beginning of the drive. When I explained this to the attendant upon my return, she stated I should have stopped and called roadside assistance and waited for them to come fix it. I had a verbal altercation with the customer behind me (he and his friend were standing TOO CLOSE to me). The customers that were standing behind me were aggressive since they entered the store (their accent was Bosnian/Russian of some sort). They were loud from the beginning and was asking everyone in the line if "there was a line," in which, a person from the line answered "there was." They seem impatient and stood right behind me and seem to be annoyed they had to stand behind me (Note: I was last in the line). They were standing way too close to me like I wasn't there as if I was "in their way." Throughout the line, I kept looking over to them and giving them side eyes to show that I wasn't comfortable with their distance to me as I'm not a direct person to speak up. They seem to notice, and in which, they encroached my personal space even more. When I reached the counter, they were standing right behind my butt at that point, in which I had no room to move around (I was cornered) and I busted out in anger saying, "Can you guys fucking move back up, you're in my fucking asshole!" One of the guys answered jokingly, "Yeah, you seem like an asshole." In which, I answered "I am." And the guy told me to "Get the fuck out of this place." Which got me even angrier since I was trying to ignore them. The front desk lady â€œMorgan Harrillâ€ was in their side telling me to quiet down and asking the other 2 gentleman to take a step back from me. While I was checking out with â€œMorgan Harrillâ€ they were laughing and taunting me from the back. Near the end of my checkout, I turned out and went off on those two. At this point, â€œMorgan Harrillâ€ tried to kick me off of the store and threaten to cancel my transaction saying that â€œThese two gentlemen have been quiet and I specifically told everyone to zip it.â€ I was in the verge of crying because I was trying to contain my anger through the whole ordeal... I told Morgan that I really needed the rental and tried to explain the situation from my sideâ€¦ She told me that she would HAVE to cancel the transaction because I was being problematic and that I need to LEAVE THE STORE, in which, I told her that is fine then I will contact corporate. Suddenly she changed her mind and decided to process my orderâ€¦ I have never been so humiliated and angered in my life. I understand me cussing at the two customers weren't the right thing, but the fact that I was considered the â€œproblematic customerâ€ when I was trying to contain my anger through the whole situation when the two customers were taunting me is unbelievable. I guess people who â€œlash outâ€ are the ones who are problematic. I tried to be logical, but when faced with injustice I get very flustered. First truck we were given had a big cut on the side, all the way down to the belt. This location is listed as 24 hour pickup but it turned out not to be available and this was almost a big problem. The staff called at 10 minutes until six and said they were closing at six and we could not get the rental if we were not there by then. Fortunately we were only about five minutes away after driving seven hours to get there. When we did get there they were clearly only interested in getting out on time and not on good customer service. I would like to thank George Davis, the gentleman who took care of our reservation of a 9' U-Haul van for his patience, his cooperation, and his support. I had scheduled a morning flight out of DC to be sure that I would arrive in plenty of time to pick up - and return! - the van that we needed for my son's move within Charlotte. My flight into CLT was delayed several times, and I was concerned about the timing and the fact that the following day was Labor Day, a holiday when some locations might close. Mr. Davis very graciously worked with us and generously extended the original reservation. I breathed an enormous sigh of relief and was able to focus completely on the move itself before returning the van. I could NOT have been happier with the van itself which proved to be versatile and quite practical for city driving, but more than that, I am very thankful to Mr. Davis for his kindness, his patience, and his very cooperative nature. If I need to rent a van in the future while in Charlotte, I would without hesitation return to the Dalton Avenue U-Haul and do business with George Davis again! THANK YOU!Eva S.

I have been a loyal member for over two years with unit 813, and I never received any written notice that the facility was going to be demolished. I called about an inquiry for my bill, and then after dozens of attempts to reach out to them and never got a response, I then find out that I had two weeks to clear my unit. I no longer live in Charlotte so I had to spend over $600 to book a flight and a U-Haul to get all of my belongings when all of this could’ve been avoided if I had more of a notice. This facility gave me a lien notice on a unit I moved out from even after giving notice a month prior. I submitted my move out request online which I have confirmation of. On site during my move out I explained I was moving out, met with the on-site manager, and even had the movers be introduced. I am unsure what more I needed to do and if there was a missing piece it should have been comminuted by a manager. I do have an email that management switched over which caused the issues but that should not be my issue.
