I was asking question about charges and he snapped at me and said we have a lot of trucks that just came in , we will email you! You can wait but it will be a long time, Just didn't care for his attitude and I wasn't the only customer that felt that way

Only two people working and one was new and not able to use the computer system. It took over an hour to pick up a truck. Also had my reservation changed to this location, without being told until that day. I had to drive an additional half our away, and another half our back to actually pack. Waisted more than two hours of my time. Will not be renting a uhaul again.

We received the U-Haul with a 1/4 tank of gas. We returned it nearly full. There was no provision for that. When I asked about it the employee was extremely rude about it. What a rip-off to the customer. Very disappointed. What ever happened to full-to-full returns? I'm out about an extra $30+ dollars because I couldn't adequately "guess" the gas needed to get the truck back at 1/4 tank. When I complained about this the employee's response was basically, "Suck it up, buttercup". I mean, he didn't actually SAY that, but that was his attitude. I'll try Budget truck rental next time.

We had to go over a half an hour to pick up a appliance dolly that was already reserved and should have been with the truck. Terrible u-haul experience and will never use them again

It took awhile to get going because the reservation was made as a one-way instead of round trip, but Ian took good care of me and got things straightened out. It would be great if online reservations actually got to the local store. On a previous occasion I made an online reservation for several days later, but when I got to the store they did not have any record of it and the equipment wasn't available. This time I made the reservation in person but apparently miscommunicated my intent to return the equipment to the same store.

This location has historically had major staffing issues. It is still short staffed and the workers are over-allocated but the new employees that I met during this visit were excellent. Great customer service and communication. Get them some help so they don't burn out.

The person who gave us the truck acted like I was a nuisance because I didn’t call ahead. The truck looked like it had gone through a war with all of the damage on it. I was supposed to have the truck back by 1 pm on Saturday. Our moving was taking way longer than expected, so I called Saturday morning to see if I could keep the truck longer and I was put / left on hold for 15-20 minutes after the person who answered literally huffed and puffed at my question. I then called back and was told if I’m an hour late I would be charged a complete extra day. So I guess I had to keep it a whole extra day.... when I took the truck back the next morning it was around 7:30/8 am and I parked it in the return section. I went to it the keys in the drop box and a person in shorts and a t shirt with no markings started yelling at me that I don’t put the keys in there. I was very confused and uncomfortable to be getting yelled at and lectured on where the keys go by someone who popped out of a cleaning bay in street cloths. To be honest, I thought I was going to get mugged or robbed and the truck stolen. This is the type of service you get when you spend $400 ??? This place is a rip off! This is definitely a story I will tell anyone who asks me about uhaul because I sure won’t forget this moving experience.

According to your guidelines, we were charged for gas we did not use. We refilled to 5/8 of a tank. We also were given a truck where one of the wipers did not work properly making driving in a torrential rain storm was Unsafe. When asked if they could come fix or replace wiper, I was told they were busy and to drive to their store where they could fix. To be charged for extra gas after all this, I was not satisfied.

Uhaul should always rent the trucks with the fuel level full. This allows the customer to start with a full tank, and it is easy to go to the gas station on the way back for the return and fill it back up. I rented the truck at 3/4 full and had to turn gauge on in truck and check several times while refueling to return to correct level. Horribly inefficient.

In the past three years I've rented trailers many times with a great experience at the Victor NY facility without issue. This recent experience with un trained staff who was rude was the worse and totally unacceptable. the only person who you can count on was Robert who always was professional and supports a great customer experience.

The employees at this location were even worst than the pick up, when I walked into the building I stood there and watched this guy sit on his phone for a minute or so until he looked up and said “someone will be with you in a minute” and then the guys who helped had nothing to say and no Information on where I should go to drop of the trailer.

Model U-Haul dealership, not like that dump on Jefferson Rd in Henrietta. Full service dealer but needs to hire replacement mechanic in order to install and inspect hitches, wiring, trailers, etc.

Attendant who got truck and trailer ready seems like she wasn’t trained all the way , didn’t know how to hook up the safety chains or secure the trailer on the ball. Throws a big safety concern , other than that was a very good experience, people at counter were very friendly and helpful and was in and out in about a half hour which is good compared to some other U-Haul experiences I’ve had. Would not hesitate to use again.

Please make sure that the gas tank is at the accurate levels. I was told the tank was at 3/4 full. I got in and started to drive off and realized it wasn’t. I took a picture of the level to show them upon return. When I returned the van, they asked if they could give me an emailed receipt (the lady checking me in said it would be faster since she had to check the van in before getting me a receipt and she seemed very stressed about two vans coming in at once). I said yes and expected it in my email before the day if close. At 5:00, it wasn’t in my email so I called. It still hadn’t been checked in after 1 1/2 hours. They said they would email it to me soon. The next day, I finally got the invoice. I got charged for the gas after all that! Even though I had returned it at slightly under 3/4, where it was when I left! The people were nice and friendly however the return experience I had was frustrating.

The only thing I can think of to improve on would be the access to this location from NYS RT 96. Sometimes it is difficult to get in or out of the location via Route 96.

Hello Customer Service at U-Haul, I am responding to this survey on Sunday, May 5 at 8:01 a.m. ET. I need your help with finding the right person at U-Haul for my concern. As you are on the Board of Directors of the parent company, I'm sure you can take swift action. I'm not convinced my survey response will be listened to. I was told your corporate app would allow me, once I had filled out information about myself (e.g., credit card, license number) to pick up my vehicle when I needed it before opening hours. I ended up making a separate trip after the store was opened. When I complained about the app and pick-up policies, the agent, Mr. Monty Hershfield, said he was about to ask me to 'leave the store' if I wasn't more cooperative. Can you imagine one of U-Haul's agents telling a multi-millionaire customer he was going to be asked to leave the store because he argued about the effectiveness of U-Haul's app? That service didn't work, nor did the instant return service on 5/1/19 at the Victor NY location (contract 20533162). The returning agent Ian Frasier said the "app is crap." What's up here? I rented a truck at 10 am on Friday and returned it the same day, Friday at 6 pm. For some reason I was charged two days. I called and spoke with someone who said the store was too busy to talk to me. I drive down there and they said it would be fixed and I would get an email with a new invoice. The store is now closed and I have received nothing. This is completely unacceptable to be charged for 48 hours when I had the rental for a total of 8 hours. Very poor customer service response.

Trailer was obviously used to move livestock prior to me picking it up. It was littered with wood shavings and smelled horribly of farm animals (If I were to guess, I would say Goats) Previous renter clearly transported animals after driving it through a disgustin field.

The Front desk gentleman went above and beyond. We came with our truck and the hitch that we currently had but it did not fit the U-Haul. He exchanged out the hitch ball so that we could be on our way. Great customer service by this gentleman.

Excellent customer service!! The gentleman that worked with me on several visits was efficient as well as being very congenial. On one occasion while waiting to be helped I observed him handle a very talkative customer with great finesse, while the line to be waited on was growing. He literally runs to deliver the trucks to reduce customer wait time. When I was driving away in my rental I stopped prior to leaving the parking lot. I needed to put somthing away before exiting. This gentleman must have thought something was wrong and as I exited I looked in the rear view and saw him starting to come to my aid. THANK HIM!! Don't know his name but he is African American.

The car trailer I requested was not ready, they had me down for the wrong time for pick up. Then the first truck I was given had the “check engine” light. I brought that back, was given another truck, which was poorly cleaned. I was given, the trailer and left. That took two hours longer than expected. We finally went to another dealer, and he got the car, trailer, and truck together. It went well for a while, until just after dark, when it started raining lightly and we found there was no washer fluid. That made for a fun ride on the Mass Pike. So our experience generally sucked, but two other dealers were great to work with. Thank you to them.

Please call me 585-733-7345 so I can explain my disappointment in the pick up experience. The trailer wasn't hooked up properly along with a lot of confusion at pick up. My daughter and I could have been in a serious accident the way it was hooked up.

If you asked if I was satisfied with my rental experience, I would not give you a high rating, but I don’t want to disparage the victor store. I had a mobile pick-up, but system wasn’t working so I had to go inside and get in line (long line). Got truck 30 minutes later than I reserved it for.

My experience at the Victor site was fine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that I was charged an extra day for the trailer I rented. I rented for 24 hours and returned the trailer around the 22 hour mark. I waited in the lobby to be processed out, and was told that I was good to go. Trailers are prepaid, so I left confident everything was ok. A bill showed up in email a couple days after I dropped off the trailer (on time). I was refunded after complaining, but the ball was dropped somewhere.

The friendly and helpfulness of the service. I called to reserve a truck and then called back to reserve a dolly. When my husband went to pick it up the manager was cold and rude and made him feel as if he wasn’t supposed to pick it up. I had specifically asked if the truck needed to be under the name of who was picking it up and was told anyone could. Upon looking the truck over realized the dolly was not in the truck. I went in to go get this item to basically be told by the manager that well I was wrong and did not reserve the item. Instead of being nice and apologizing for the mix up and just helping to fix and get to the solution I was treated as if I was in the wrong. I confirmed the person we were working with was the manager and he was beyond rude and cold until I told him just how unfriendly he was. Even the way he told me was the manager was rude. He was very cocky and consided. Lifting his pants and puffing his chest out as he tells me “yes in fact I am”. The level of rudeness I dealt with and the mix up that happened I shouldn’t have paid for the stupid dolly. I would rather have driven to a farther location then return to this uhaul. It took an hour to pick up a appliance dolly and 10ft truck because we the customers were so wrong... I’m insulted that instead of trying to help solve the issue that something wasn’t there I ordered I was made to feel we did something wrong. I mean I’ve worked in retail for many years and know the customer isn’t always right but in this situation why was I told 10 times at least I did not order the dolly instead of a simple sorry for the mixup let’s get you a dolly n get you in your way. I had to snap and say ok so it’s not ok there that’s on your team for not adding it not me now I need a dolly regardless! I’m very dissatisfied. Moving is hard and stressful enough without dealing with rude strangers!

Trucks were not ready. Line of people was out the door. Staff was scrambling and some didnt know what was happening or what to do. I use the UHAUL mobil app and this location is so far behind the times I dont understand...it is one of the biggest locations in the area yet isnt updated to serve with the mobil app that you push online to use for FASTER EASIER truck pickup and drop off. This was far from fast and incredibly painful. Everytime I do my reservation online they need the SAME EXACT INFO when I pickup the truck...not sure where the communication breakdown between the website and the location is but that needs to be fixed asap. This location could be an incredible $$$ making location for UHAUL if they would get it updated with the times!!

Inside of trailer was very beat up - Multiple tie down points were missing or damaged. Roll up door was also slightly damaged making it difficult to raise and lower.

The cargo area of the truck smelled like chicken wings and it was obvious that the renter before me had had a chicken wing catastrophe on the floor. Of course, I didn't know this until I got the truck home and started loading it. When I returned it, your employee, rightfully so, was concerned and assumed I had been the idiot. Ultimately he let it go and I checked out without a problem. Had the unit been cleaned better before it was given to me none of this would have happened. Overall, it was a great rental experience. The truck was new and the cab was very clean. Check in staff were very personable, efficient and they both had a great sense of humor. I would definitely rent from the Victor store again.

The guy at the counter mentioned to me that gas would cost $4 per gallon if I brought it back less than 1/4 tank they started me with but failed to tell me that there would also be a $30 fuel refill charge on top of that if its not exactly where it was when they gave it to you. I filled it back up to where it was and they still charged me for the fuel and additional fuel refill overcharge. When I asked the guy why he didn't inform me of the $30 charge but he did inform me of the $4/gallon charge, he said "I can't read everything to you". Terrible experience, this branch makes uhaul look bad.

Mileage out reading was not accurate. I was over charged for 11 miles. Called Victor location to adjust and the rep ( I believe his name was Cody) hung up on me. Also the pick up truck they gave me did not have a drivers side windshield wiper. It started snowing and I didn’t have a windsjield wiper. Very bad experience overall

The truck was not road worthy. The steering had an incredible amount of slop and felt very unsafe. The brakes were very spungy. I got to my destination safely wanted to exchange vehicles , but I didn’t have time. My opinion , your vehicles are safely questionable. Corporate should be more attentive to these issues.

I rented an open trailer and it had snow in it. I had to clean the snow out before I could us it. I feel that the location should have cleaned out the snow, how did they think I was going to be able to use the OPEN trailer with a pile of snow in it. Not very good customer service at all.

I was erroneously charged $72 for fuel when I returned a full gas tank in a truck that was documented as a full gas tank. Then to compound the problem, they held on my credit card the extra charge, charged my card for the larger, erroneous amount leaving me paying 185.26 a hold on the same amount of money, and ti fix that, a possible refund on $75 that has yet to be approved. A rental that should cost $110, instead took 370 of funds, causing numerous items to overdraft my account. The response is that there is nothing they can do. Fine, I will never use your services, warn everyone I know, post honest reviews of your services and look into contacting the better business bureau.

Storage space offered was smaller than expected, a larger unit was not available though offered. I almost lost the contracted Moving Help and I had to go to another UHaul. It was a nightmare for me.

Nothing against the facility but if you pay for storage you should have 24 hour access to your own personal belongings instead of business hours. I’m sure there is a reason but this is for corporate.
