It would have been better however. I had to deal with a UHaul employee that wasn’t happy with me because I apparently wasn’t using the easiest entrance to unload. Number one it was my first time there so how would I have known. He just kept repeating himself and saying for future reference. I was already unloaded I wasn’t going to load my stuff back in the car to do it the way he wanted me to. He made my move in experience terrible. He called my phone and then said the same thing in person like seriously leave me alone. He kept saying it like I was stupid. He wasn’t trying to be helpful he was upset I didn’t use the entrance closer to my unit. I told him it was my first time there and he just kept saying for future reference, which by the way is rude. Other than that experience with that UHaul employee everything else was fine except if it’s so important to use the entrance closer to your unit then UHaul should put those specific instructions in the initial move in email.Silkia R. | Online Move In
Could not find the unit/did not help finding the unit when talking to one of the younger representatives. Walked around the property for 30 minutes in 90 degree heat and eventually found it. Inside was clean, but the parking area was a mess. Trucks were scattered all over. A couple were parked and partly disassembled right next to the building. They asked me to pull up to a certain spot when I returned and someone would come out to check me in. It was impossible for them to see someone in that location as trucks and equipment totally blocked the view. The appearance is so bad that it has likely driven away some customers. It looks like they take no pride in the place. On the other hand, the people I dealt with were great. The owner just has to set some standards and enforce them.James W.

First of all you should tell the customer that there is a cleaning charge. I left the truck cleaner then it was given to me and I still got charged twenty-five dollars. If I knew I was going to be charge anyway, I would have left the truck extremely dirty. Second, the truck was to be turned in the next day, instead I left it overnight, which to me would be turning the truck in early. Instead they charged me twenty more dollars. Why charge a fee if you bring it in early. You have a lot of hidden charges, these charges were never explained by your customer service representatives. I'm truly disappointed in Uhaul, they really gone downhill over the years. Shame on you!JOEL ROBERT G.

This was the worse experience I've ever had with uhaul. I was not able to pick up my truck as the guy From scheduling did not set it up correctly so I could not get it. He was rude and unprofessional in the first place. I had to wait until customer service opened up to find a new truck. They were great!! I went back to the first location I wanted and they only had a 20 foot truck available so I had to take that. I originally needed a 15 foot. The truck was dirty. Cans left from the previous driver and misc garbage behind the seats. . The floor was not vacuumed and was dirty. While driving I was in a rain storm and the wiper were in bad condition, so I had to get them replaced. So obviously, the uhaul center did not look this truck over. I moved from Michigan to Florida. There is a credit owed to me and I still have not received that due to their guarantee and my original truck. The places in Florida have been wonderful dropping off my equipment.Kimberley S.

Zach was awesome! Very attentive and personable. I processed my reservation online and it was super easy. When I picked up the truck there was a few minutes to wait but I soon realized it is because Zach and his team give each customer their undivided attention once it is your turn. When I returned the vehicle I was in a hurry to meet professional movers back at my home. Once again, Zach was very accommodating and offered to process payment thru my stored information and send me my invoice through email so I could be on my way. He did this immediately. Zachâ€¦I see a successful business in your future. Very rarely see this type of service out there anymore! I can understand why your location is so busy! Keep up the good work. The car needed an air freshener. It smelled like stale BO and cigarettes. As soon as I started it there was a warning light for the tire pressure. I didn't have time to switch it out. I wanted it clean and ready to go.CHRISTOPHER DENN M.
They let someone cut off my lock and replaced it with their lock and that person proceeded to take my personal items out of the storage unit. Fortunately I found this out relatively soon after it happened and it was rectified but other than "sorry " I was offered no other compensation off my storage fees...nothing. I felt very violated. When I arrived, The truck was still being cleaned so I lost a half an hour my six hour Waiting for it to be cleaned. When I talk to the person who was cleaning it out he said he didn't know when people were arriving but that I was required to wait for him to finish his work. The person who set up my reservation neglected to finish making the changes. When I arrived to pick up what was supposed to be a truck & appliance dolly, they said the reservation was for a day earlier. NO, we changed the day/time as I was standing at the counter. The person I talked to apologized for the mistake, but said the size vehicle I needed was no longer available. They offered me a larger truck but REFUSED to rent it to me for the lesser price, even though it was 100% their mistake. Since I needed to move that day, I had no choice but to pay the higher price. To top it off, there was no dolly in the truck. When I went back in to request it, again, I was told they didn't have any. All of this was noted on their pc screen, and again, they apologized for the error, but proceeded to pretty much tell me "To Bad", there's nothing we can (or will) do about it. I ended up paying more for a vehicle I didn't need, and didn't get the equipment necessary. Not enough customer service people to pick up or drop off truck. I did everything on-line, but when I get to the store they lump me in the same line as people who have not done anything in advance. I waited 30 minutes to get the truck at 9 AM. Same for the return at 1:00 where I waited 40 minutes. Lastly, none of the cigarette lighter ports worked on the truck, so I could not power my phone (my navigation system) and drive at the same time, pretty important in a moving truck.Paul H.

Also charged my bf and I were charged for our storage unit on the 15th of August when we moved out on the 9th of August and they overdrafted his account as well. They obviously don't check their property daily because we left our door WIDE open. I used to work for a storage facility so they definitely aren't doing what they are supposed to. His name was Tremone and he was incredibly kind and did a great job hooking up the trailer. i did online pick up because i thought it would easier and faster and it was neither of those things. they should make you do all of those things when you make a reservation because it ended up taking more than a half hour to be accepted which left me really very little time to actually use the uhaul for what i needed. i also have an enhanced drivers license and the girl denied me access to drive because she didn't know what it was. overall very subpar experience and it makes dread having to probably do it again in the futuregenevieve H.

The overall U-Haul experience was EXTREMELY poor. We booked the U-Haul on the phone with a person who told us the truck would be at one location. We received a phone call from U-Haul telling us our truck got rerouted to a different location which was almost an hour away. When we got to that location the truck was not there, nor was it ever going to be there. The person we spoke to at this location told us he spoke to U-Haul Traffic informing them that he did not have that truck, nor was he going to get one, and asked U-Haul traffic to call us and let us know that. This never happened, instead our order was completely cancelled, again without any notification to us. Calling U-Haul corporate was beyond a complete JOKE. we got put on hold several times, told that we would be transferred to yet another location, only to find out we were speaking to corporate once again. What U-Haul does do extremely well is avoid any any personal conversation with the customer, placing them on hold after hold after hold, a vicious circle. The only person who seemed to care at all about helping us was the clerk at the Waterford Michigan location, where we eventually had to go bak to and get a truck. Even more frustrating, is that if anyone does actually read this, nothing will likely be done. Instead you should look at this, and train your staff in using interpersonal skills and building relationships with your customers, instead of blowing them off.PATRICK ALAN S.

The only problem is there were not enough staff there helping customers. When I walked in there were 3 people ahead of me in line, 3 people sitting down that had already been helped and waiting on something before they could leave, and even with a reservation I still had to wait almost 20 mins to be helped. While standing waiting about 5 people walked in after me. It’s a small store and people were just standing everywhere. It just doesn’t seem like enough staff are on site to service the number of customers coming through. Otherwise the person who helped me individually was great! When I tried to call and ask if I would be getting any of that money back, having only used the unit five days of that month, I could never get anyone to answer the phone. I tried four times. So I drove over there, and asked the staff member on duty. There was no smile, nothing welcoming at all, just a flat, “No we don’t prorate.” That was it. I moved out of my unit aug 19th 2020, went into office and told them I was moving....asked if i needed to sign anything, the staff said no and blew me off. 2 weeks later I get a call from a manager asking if I had.moved out of the unit. My move was finalized 2 days after that sept 1 2020.
