The waterford location was fine but it was the second place we had to go to pick up our truck. We first went to a marathon gas station in Howell, MI. They did not have a truck for us, even though I reserved it over a week beforehand and they called me on Friday to confirm I could still pick it up. The lady at the marathon was polite and found us a truck in waterford but I was still upset about the extended drive to pick it up. When I was driving the 45 minutes to Waterford I called a UHaul number to voice my complaints and understand why this was happening. They were zero help at all and only made me more mad. He said the other customer was supposed to drop off the truck at 9am which was exactly when we were supposed to pick the truck up... I could've told you that would be a logistical nightmare. He also thought covering our mileage from Waterford to our pick-up location in Howell was sufficient for our troubles. To me that is bullshit, of course you are going to cover that. We had a team of movers at our house to help us out and they got there at 9:30am (our pickup was supposed to be 9am). We ended up getting back home at 11:30am with our UHaul, we had to pay the movers for two extra hours to do nothing. When I voiced this frustration to the UHaul rep, they gave me $50 off our order. That didn't even cover half an hour of work from the movers. It came as no surprise when we got into our uhaul truck to find that the truck was in horrible shape. There were multiple cigarette buts in the center counsel, the whole truck smelled, and when we got home and wiped down the seats and dashboard with Clorox wipes they were absolutely black with dirt. Can't say I'm surprised it was that dirty, when you schedule a drop-off and pick-up at the same time it doesn't give much time to clean. Overall a horrible experience, we had a 12 hour drive after we loaded the truck up and the two hour delay on the front end did not help. I expected more than $50 for a process that was costing me $1600 but I now realize how uhual operates and will do everything in my power to not use you again. If I could rank it zero stars I would.Matthew S.
Bald drivers rear tires, can/dash was dirty, drivers windshield wiper would fall off when raised to clean windows and I don't think there was a corner, side, roof and front/rear that had not been damaged. The truck did it's job and that's what counts. I would suggest switching to diesel power. Ran between 65-70 and averaged 7.7 miles to the gallon. Brutal on the credit card. Equipment was not cleaned until after my pick-up time when I went to get in the truck. Then had me wait out in the rain while they cleaned it. Would have been nice for it to already have been cleaned so I could take the key and go.Andrew S.

Never adequately explained that the optional insurance didn't cover the top 2 feet of the uhaul truck box. Would have purchased additional coverage if they had taken the time to explain what was and wasn't covered instead of just rushing thru everything. I honestly don't understand why the vans are always dirty. The guy that brought me the van had to clean it a bit but it was still filthy. I used Clorox wipes and I can't tell you what that black stuff was. When I went to the men on the side, that cleans the trucks after they are brought back, and asked for a vacuum for the seat he brought me a broom and dust pan. I just told him never mind I would just go buy a hand vacuum. Which I did. Can they just wipe down the cup holders, steering wheel and the area's people touch and vacuum the seats? The hitch was back ordered, but notification wasn't timely. We got a garbled voice message the night before and when I called the store, the main customer service answered, called the store for me and confirmed that everything was all set. When I arrived the next morning I was told you couldn't install the hitch. The order should never have been taken if it couldn't be installed.Joel P.

Giving a thumbs up for Zach who checked me back in when I returned the trailer. Though the gentleman in the morning was not helpful and making the situation harder than it needed to be. He was not able to articulate the issues to be resolved leaving me to try to even figure out what the issues were. The only problem is there were not enough staff there helping customers. When I walked in there were 3 people ahead of me in line, 3 people sitting down that had already been helped and waiting on something before they could leave, and even with a reservation I still had to wait almost 20 mins to be helped. While standing waiting about 5 people walked in after me. It’s a small store and people were just standing everywhere. It just doesn’t seem like enough staff are on site to service the number of customers coming through. Otherwise the person who helped me individually was great! I was overcharged! I was told several times when making the reservation that there was a one-time delivery charge of $99. I was billed $137 later. No explanation or detail was provided in the bill and I had to call several times to get an explanation, waiting on hold for over 30 minutes each time just to speak with someone.Rana A.

I cleaned out my unit after my monthly payment had been auto-deducted five days previously. When I tried to call and ask if I would be getting any of that money back, having only used the unit five days of that month, I could never get anyone to answer the phone. I tried four times. So I drove over there, and asked the staff member on duty. There was no smile, nothing welcoming at all, just a flat, “No we don’t prorate.” That was it. I moved out of my unit aug 19th 2020, went into office and told them I was moving....asked if i needed to sign anything, the staff said no and blew me off. 2 weeks later I get a call from a manager asking if I had.moved out of the unit. My move was finalized 2 days after that sept 1 2020.
