Trailer fell off the hitch within a few blocks because the rental agent didn’t tighten it to the ball. The Good Samaritan that helped me hook it back up in the side of a busy highway told me the same location did the same thing to him 3 weeks earlier.

KURT ZYour computer system are in extreme need of upgrading!!! Your location is running Microsoft 7, every time I us this facility the system is having issues, what should take 5-8 minutes….all data is entered online ahead of time, takes 30+ minutes because of your computer system. If it wasn’t a mile from my home I would use another company!!!! Staff is excellent and does the best they can….this is a corporate issue.
dave kThis U-Haul location is great, and I have used it many times; however, I cannot say the same about the 15' box truck that I rented. I have utilized U-Haul and their box trucks roughly a dozen times and have always had wonderful equipment before this experience. This particular box truck was quite the opposite. The driver seat was completely falling apart and was slumping, which is not ideal for as long as I was driving this. To add insult to injury, the only reason I rented a box truck this particular weekend was due to forecasted rain; the box leaked and got a bunch of my stuff soaking wet and ruined other items. My last issue, which did not end up being as bad as it could have been due to a very nice state trooper - the speedometer on the U-Haul was displaying speeds 7-8 MPH slower than I was actually going. After he followed me into a gas station and confronted me, we talked and he followed me on the highway to confirm this. No speeding ticket luckily, but it sure didn’t speak well to my safety while driving it. While it almost seems insignificant to mention relative to what precedes this, the truck was also filthy in the cabin and in the box. I had to sweep screws and large pieces of broken plastic out of the box before I put anything inside. Overall, this moving experience was particularly difficult and was entirely due to issues with this U-Haul. Very disappointed.

Michael KThe inside of the trailer had not been cleaned thoroughly. There was a layer of black soot/ash or charcoal dust on half the floor. We had to cover the floor with tarps because everything that touched it turned black.

DEREK PThe biggest complaint that I had is I rented a 6 x 12 enclosed trailer. The height of your trailers is 5 foot four. You cannot get a king size bed or a king size frame in a 6‘ x 12‘ trailer. Poorly designed you have to eventually go Somewhere else or rent a large truck. Even the 10 foot box truck is not big enough in height. Disappointing as I missed my pick up because it was not made clear to me online house low. They are for ceiling height. Do you have a very small drawing you can barely see.
JEFFREY MThe drop off was seamless. Someone greeted us as soon as we pulled into the lot and told us what we needed to do. We had our final receipt emailed to us within 5 minutes. They were super busy, but were friendly and efficient. All UHaul centers should be like this one.
Brenda BAbsolutely worst state of a rental vehicle I have ever been in and felt extremely unsafe even as an experienced professional driver. Truck was extremely neglected, steering column not centered, 140k miles in the shape of 400k. Truck was also parked in far back corner of building and was charged 300 dollars, absolutely never using U-Haul again and will spend the rest of my life degrading and pointing out your obscene, parasitic business model. Fuck you.

DARWIN KOny issue as a newbie...the door sensitivity to "open" is not good on #3. Had to go inside and open manually. #1 was blocked with orange cones and #2 had a UHaul vehicle parked for hours. Made it difficult to choose the loading/unloading height that worked well. Didn't happen to be busy when we were there but having 50% of the unloading bays blocked isn't good. Could cause undue wait times which makes this less convenient. Other than that, things are clean, well-lit and staff was helpful. Overall, good experience and good facility, just make sure lanes are available.

I used less than half of the month but apparently that’s just for the company to keep and pocket. It’s probably in the fine print somewhere but seems like a shady business practice. Kind of left a sour taste in my mouth and ruined what was a great experience.

I also do not currently have a phone, so the online check in process was quite difficult for me to do. The amount of space each unit has should be elaborated a bit more with how big they actually are and about how much stuff on average would be able to fit in the unit, as I definitely would have gotten a bigger unit if I had realized how small this one was.

colleen o | Overall ExperienceI am upset how the previous staff LIED to my mother about automatic withdrawls from her debit card to pay for her storage. Then slapped on a bunch of late fees. I understand that she fell behind due to financial hardships as did I. But we called numerous times to call to save her unit. I called the manager multiple times, left emails and voicemails but didn't get a response. We could rarely reach anyone in the store and was often transferred to the customer service line. Now my moms whole life and memories were sold for $20. And i am upset because all my military accomplishments and awards are gone. Peter was helpful tho. The best staff member we have had to deal with over the years, so i do appreciate that.

I was however irritated when I missed a payment by ONE day due to my debit card getting stopped due to fraudulent activity and I got charged $15 for a late fee. U-Haul did eventually refund my $15 after I called them and explained to them I was leaving due to the charge but it still eft a bad taste in my mouth and I left anyway.

Finding a different place to store the trailers would be nice to make it easier to back up into the loading dock area. But I understand space is limited and that isn't a deal breaker by any means. Staff was always excellent, helpful, and friendly. Place was always clean and seemed well-maintained. Always able to get a cart every time. No significant complaints at all.

I waited over an hour waiting for them to get my key card to work. I’m extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service and staff. Train your people so they know how to do their job!!!! This was the worst move and experience. I will not recommend anyone here.

Love the heated drive-in bay for loading and unloading in cold and snowy weather. The facility is pristine, and even includes a clean, readily accessible restroom. Also, with all the cameras and several layers of security, we felt that our possessions were absolutely safe and secure. If you need to store your stuff, this is the place!

Then the guy told me I had to go and retrieve the padlock from the unit and bring it to him. I walked all the way down to the door only to discover my code didn’t work. Walked all the way back to the counter and asked if he had already disabled my code and he said yes, it’s not going to work anymore. Then WHY did he waste my time and send me down there knowing I wouldn’t be able to access the building to get the padlock? Very frustrating. Also, every time I went there and had to use my code I would enter it on the first keypad which gave me clearance. I would then use my code at the next keypad and it told me I was not given access and had to repeat the process, going back to the first keypad. Every. Single. Time! This was a pain when I had a cart full of stuff I had to roll back and forth each time.

I tried calling the customer service number and there was a 2HOUR WAIT TIME to speak with a representative. I opted for the call back and tried figuring it out on my own. I figured it out eventually but the lack of assistance available for help is ridiculous especially when your customers are stressed and tired.

Upon showing up Sunday night, we realized the second unit assigned didn't have a lock, like was promised by the worker. After moving for 13 hours that hot day, we had to find a lock at 10pm on a Sunday night. Fleet Farm and Hyvee were closed. The gas stations didn't have one. Had to go 35 minutes round-trip to a Walmart to find one. Also, the push bar for the outer door to the loading dock was locked "open" until at least midnight, but we were under the impression it should have been locked at 10.

They even have a spot where if there's something you don't want you can leave it there for someone who can use it they can take it. (No mattresses which is totally understandable). I have had to rent storages and these are by far the best.

I have a twisted ankle, and had to go all the way to the front desk to find out what to do. This should have been explained to me before I left the service desk. My biggest complaint is I purchased a 10x10x10 storage unit on line, when I went to the facility, I was given two small units side by side. I think this is very wrong to be misled on my purchase. What could I do once I had everything with me to move. Very unhappy with this turnout. So I'm paying for a unit that is not what I asked for. The employee told me there were no other units available. Then there shouldn't have been the availability on-line.

Other customers obviously decided they needed to get rid of lots of stuff, but it was not properly removed from there. It was always overflowing, and in the travel lanes, to get a cart to storage unit.

I called to upgrade to the available ground floor 10x15 to find out that was not set. I called in to make sure I was a ground floor 10x10x10 when I got there for my reservation it was assigned a 10x10x7 and only one working employee without access or knowledge of the storage units there was no compensation for all of the inconvenience I was put through especially since I was paying movers to help by the hour they were on the clock for half an hour before we even got to start unloading I was also given a unit that had a lockout tag saying the previous tenet no longer had access to due to failure of payment

I want y’all to refund my movers, train your new hires, and figure out a system for not keeping dozens of customers waiting with no solutions. This facility needs a LOT of work.

First I was charged an extra day on my truck rental. I requested a refund but have not received it yet. Then I rented a storage unit and when I went to use it, the unit had a customer lock and a delinquency lock on it. I waited for more than 30 minutes before I was able to get help. It was after hours but that is not my fault. The guy that was helping sighed the entire time. Again, not my fault. I have used uhaul on several occasions but this might be the last. Very disappointed

Miserable experience.

We had a rough start to our move- the truck rental location in Cedar Rapids didn’t have the truck we reserved, so we had to drive to Iowa City for a truck, and then back to Cedar Rapids to load and move, giving us a late start. After we loaded and were on the road, we hit gridlocked traffic due to a wreck. Altogether, we ended up at the storage location twenty minutes after close. An employee was headed toward his car, but saw us walk up to the door and asked if he could help, even though I’m sure he was off and ready to go home already. We told him what happened and he went out of his way to check us into the storage unit we reserved and get us set up. He was amazingly kind and courtesy. It was a rough day, but his act of kindness really made the day better. I can’t thank him enough.

It took a while to get my unit, but the first person who helped me credited me with one month free for the inconvenience, which I really appreciated. My key card didn't work when I tried it, but someone else helped me change the key card to one that did, and he tested it out before he gave it to me, which was great. Then, when I returned to put things in my unit today, the same person who helped me with my card saw that I was having trouble getting into the loading garage, and he ran over immediately to open the garage door for me. I'm sure it was my own error and I'm grateful for his courtesy going above and beyond to assist me! I would highly recommend this place for their professionalism and service.

I am not sure why you treated us so poorly, but I feel sorry for the next person. All we wanted was our money YOU promised us and would not close us out. We have tried calling U Haul lots of times but NO ONE answers, so there was no way to resolve this except go to our bank, WE MOVED OUT MAY 28, 2021 NOT JUNE1ST Diane Cowan

The front desk manager did a great job and I had no issues with him. There is someone sleeping in the indoor bay. The first night I went there, there was a van parked in there and a guy was sleeping. The second time he had the same van but was not in the front seat. I would not let my wife go there on her own due to this guy hanging out and sleeping. I also drove into the bay and the door to the storage facility opened without me using my card. There were buckets all over the second floor catching water and several empty units had the doors open with buckets catching water. I am not confident my unit won't start leaking and running my things.

We arrived at the appropriate time to move into a rental unit and we were told they did not have any 15 x 10 units available at all they only had 10 x 10 units and they had none available on the first floor. They had a 10 x 10 available on the second floor we would have to bring all of our items up a set of stairs And then down a long hallway. When I asked about why we made the reservation she said that it was policy that they just give the units to people as they arrive so it was first come first serve. When I inquired why do I make a reservation at all then she did not know why this was the policy. Very unhappy did not choose to rent a unit there after all. On the plus side the truck rental was seamless and awesome.

I have to move my stuff from the car to a cart, wheel it inside, carry everything up the stairs and load it into a second cart, and then push it to the far end of the second floor, where there is another staircase that can't be used? An elevator, or at least a long series of ramps is really a must for this place!
