I picked up the trailer there was no one else there. The guy hooks it up and has me turn on each blinker and check the break lights. Tells me everything works great. Come to find out NONE of my lights on the trailer were working because there was no fuselage in my light hook up yet. The guy knew they didn't work and sent me on my way anyways!!! Then there was an issue when I dropped the trailer off from when I picked it up. I drove all the way to Tucson AZ the trailer was never disconnected from my truck. Once it was empty and I was taking it back the trailer popped off my hitch and almost caused a major accident plus damaged my truck. I am so pissed about this whole situation. Obviously the guy who worked at uhaul just wanted to get me out of there so he could leave.Tammy M.

I asked if I could return the tenant an hour and twenty minutes later than expected and the girl on the phone was rude and combative. I own a staging company and I have been leasing about 10-15 trucks a month from uhaul and that is the first time I have experienced someone so rude. I will not go back to this location. She also threatens to â€œmake a note that I habitually return late in my fileâ€ lol get a life and stop being rude to paying customers.Dennis S.

Check engine light was on in the first truck, so we had to return it, second truck wouldn't start after I put $200 in fuel in it, the service guy came out replaced the battery and it worked fine after that, the ramp was too short for that truck it needs a longer ramp! Took pictures of the U-Haul we rented and paint peeling on the front. I just think if we rented something it should look Great. For instance we rent a car from the airport they will try to rent you car like what we rented. I will ask for a different car. Sorry didn't ask for a different U-Haul, we were involved in a hit and run and we needed to put my husband's wheelchair in. I will no longer use U-Haul as a moving service. I had scheduled a U-Haul 10" truck for pick up two weeks ahead of time to ensure a smooth moving transition within the same town. Sure enough, it was not a smooth moving transition! U-Haul relocated me to a different location for the truck pick up at a different town 30 mins away which of course, I would get charged the mileage on that. In addition, I specified on my scheduled appointment that I would need the truck for 2-3 days due to my living situation. Of course, they did not make note of it and started to upcharge per day for the truck. U-Haul also relocated me to another town for drop off which was closer to my moving town yet ended up paying over $300 to just move my belongings within the same town! Ridiculous! My housemates also got the same size truck on the same day for the same number of days and only got charged $100. In addition to all that, U-Haul wanted to charge me more for going over the mileage which they set the pickup and drop-off locations so they know how far I'll be traveling and didn't take that into consideration. Luckily, they noticed that mistake and changed it so casually. The advice I would have for the next customer is to find another moving service that is not U-Haul. U-Haul never offered to compensate for any of their mistakes.Cynthia F.

Everything was great. I just don’t agree with you not prorating the last month if the renter leaves early. Because the cost to get by is so expensive and schedules are so tight they can use everything dollar to get by. I felt I was cheated with the fuel. When I got in my rental. I didn't turn it on. I already accepted the fuel level and took my picture. As I turned the truck on my fuel level dropped to right above empty. I knew I wouldn't have enough gas to make it to my destination so I stopped and put $30 in fuel. I proceeded to head to my destination and the engine light came on. I called and was told that someone probably â€œsiffenedâ€ gas out of the tank and it know the sensor out of wack because they are sensitive. When I went to return the truck. The agent that check the truck in said someone siffened gas and tampered with some sensor or something. I put the fuel back to where it was in the picture. It may hair been a hair off but then I was told that I would be charged an additional $20 for fuel. I was upset and informed him of the fuel level when I got it but because I didn't take a picture there's nothing I could do about it. Then it was confusing to get the key because it's shows a completely different picture of where the key is then where it actually is. I had to go in and get help when this was suppose to be a simple online check in. It's sad to be treated this way. You may want to start telling your customers to start the truck and then confirm how much gas the rental truly has. And it's a shame that the company knows that they have people stealing their gas and they are doing nothing about it. I will definitely be telling friends and family about my experience. Maybe start verifying fuel level with each initial rental.Rebecca M.
I showed up for a 9am pickup at 8:57 and they refused to help until 9am. The locations was almost 80 miles away from my moving location, the reservation was made 3 weeks prior and attempts could have been made to make sure equipment was available for closer pickup. The straps of the trailer were very worn and the original trailer rented was swapped due to worn chains. Overall our move happened but had I had the option last minute to go w another company I would have.Jenn C.

Our gas tank was pretty much empty and we were disappointed that we got charged a gas fee on top of the money we spent to fill up the empty tank. I've always gotten uhauls with full tanks in the past. I also had booked pickup in Davis and drop off at the Sacramento location and only later found that we had to go to Davis for both. The location otherwise was fine. Self checkin was a bit of a process but the employees who got us they keys were friendly and the lot was easy to find.Stephanie L.
