I rented a truck and returned it within 4 hours. I did not understand that I had to check in with a phone app as I had done my paperwork in person and no one told me I would have to use my phone to return the truck. I was then billed $20. for not understanding the return policy. When I spoke to customer service they told me to read the contract and that I would have to pay the $20. Don't you think someone should have mentioned that I would have to do this or face a penalty?? I will never rent form UHaul again. Jon Robson

I returned the van 2 days early, and was still charged more than the estimate. Each day was quoted as $79 per day. I was over on the mileage by 142 miles, and was quoted .29 cents for all miles over 2,000. How does the math work out that I owe $23.22?? Also the gas estimate was 12 gal to =5/8 tank. I put in 13..313 gal and I had to argue with the U-Haul clerk that it had 5/8 tank as he disagreed that it barely had 5/8 tank gas.

If WE chose 8pm as our return time, but it would have been the exact same price if we chose it a few hours later then how dare you CHARGE US for being 20 minutes late. That's a real dick move. We are moving!! We don't know how to drive a 26 foot long vehicle!! We couldn't get anyone to help us move because we are in the middle of a PANDEMIC and people are being urged to social distance. We ran into a few issues. It took us longer than expected. It was a very long, stressful, frustrating 2 days. Tensions are high and we are exhausted. We were 20 minutes late to the time WE CHOSE, which is pretty damn impressive considering all the issues we ran into, and you charge us for being late. For all you know, I may have selected 8pm instead of 9pm on accident and didn't even realize. Or maybe my toddler pooped right as we were leaving. Maybe we had trouble maneuvering a house sized truck to the gas pump. Maybe my phone was dead by the time I returned the truck so I couldn't complete the free after hours return on your website. Bottom line is its greedy and not cool to charge a late fee when up until 11pm would have been the same exact price. You should be ashamed for being so greedy. I will absolutely never use or recommend this company to anyone, even someone I don't even like. You should also probably reevaluate your morals too, cheating people out of their money because they ran into issues and were 20 minutes late to a THEY selected. You're greedy and inconsiderate and you suck. Penske, here i come! Okay, end of rant.

My understanding was that this was a true 6x12 trailer. Actually, the opening at the ramp is almost 12 inches restricted. I couldn't use the trailer (Can am motorcycle wouldn't fit), had to rent another landscape trailer travel 60 miles to deliver cycle, return the 2nd trailer, pick up the U haul and return it--200 miles + of travel. Questionable description of trailer and not even a mention of a refund nor certificate.

Truck wasn't swept out. The couple ahead of us was promised a vehicle that wasn't available due to someone making a reservation after them. They didn't get what was promised and the agent handling this did a very poor job. In fact if he worked for me I would have terminated him. (the agent) It left a poor image of this location with me. This place isn't the same since Don left the former manager (general?) This employee needs coaching in customer service.

I do not believe that the website, nor the App, indicates that the CDW must be purchased at time of rental, increasing the cost an additional $10, even if customer had acquired his own insurance policy separately. NOT GOOD!

Staff was rude and was told I could only keep the truck I had reserved for 24 hours for 12 hours. Was still charged full price and then was forced into renting a second truck so I could finish my move. I will be telling friends not to use this location anymore

The only issue I had with our Uhaul experience is as stated below- not sure if there's anything that can be done to help remedy. But other than that, everything was great! .... So I originally scheduled my Uhaul early and a few days later I got a call that the pickup location had to be changed because there weren't any trucks. The woman said she would give me "extra miles" but a location couldn't be found. The day before the trip, i called again and another woman was able to find a location that worked for us, which was great. However, we were charged the extra miles on the final contract, which I was a little surprised about- I think it was maybe $35 or so, so not terrible, but still I didn't think we should be responsible because it wasn't our fault that there wasn't a truck in Ithaca for us.

The truck I rented was filthy. The windshield on the inside was very dirty I could not see when the Sun was shining. I use the bathroom when I was there and there was urine around the bottom of the toilet. The person who waited on me was detailing his own car when I arrived. Had it not been for the fact that I needed to pick up a camper I would not have rented the vehicle at all especially the filthy condition that it was said during the Coronavirus. I had to clean the steering wheel and other parts of the vehicle myself to sterilize it to prevent getting the Coronavirus. This is a terrible experience to me. I wish I never spent the money I would have gone to Penske

I ordered a truck 20' over a week before pick up.-Pick up on a Sunday. They called me on Friday afternoon to say they will not have a truck bigger than 15 ', but would attach a trailer to the truck. siting contract language ... using a trailer- FYI this means you can't load the truck and will have to detach the trailer on your own. When I arrived on Sunday they had 20' and 26' trucks, but explained these can't go out of State. I was going to PA. Nick called the manager who was not there, NO LUCK still 15'. They took money off the price. That won't cover that I have to go back- (4 hour drive from my home in NJ )each way because 15' was not enough. BTW I went on line Saturday (prior to my pickup) and could order a 20' truck. never said not available. DON"T use this location!!!!!! FYI Staff does not wear their masks.

The U-Haul center was closed when I dropped off the truck and I wasn't able to connect to the location so I was able to get a hold of the manager and he took care of the problem right away. And there wasn't a $20 fee. My moving experience was excellent!
