Ripped off on fuel and return fee. When rented truck was not full. Returned very close to original amount, but charged $30. Asked employee he said 12mpg, as it wasn't full I needed to calculate. 74 miles so i put back 6.5 gallons. But still charged $30. Told him i would return late Sunday, he said just put keys in box. Charged $20 for not online checking it back in. He never mentioned that step. Custom service would not help and rude saying i signed contract.jared Z.

Original dates were supposed to be 12/26 drop off to movers and 12/30 unload to me. Continuously had to follow up as no updates were given to me. Had to speak with multiple people each time because of poor communication between locations as well as movers. Questions I had were unable to be answered by both Uhaul staff and movers. Was not able to confirm delivery until 12/5, at 6 pm the night before delivery, a whole week later than originally anticipated. Items were damaged and dinged up. For the excessive time it took, poor customer service and quality of care, I will not be using this service again.Cassondra L.

This is ridiculous when you only have a cell phone and live alone. I should NOT have to burden a friend with text messages from uhaul when they have zero connection with MY transaction. They overcharged me $20 for gas. I returned that tank over 15/16, more than was in it originally, and he claims that I returned it less than 7/8. It's just not true and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I did not think to take a picture of the fuel gauge as returned because I was so over the amount I didn't think it would possibly be an issue. I do have a receipt that shows how much I put in. It just really sucks that I now have to worry about this place screwing me again. The guy seemed friendly enough and said there would be no issues and sent me on my way. my issue is not so much the pickup location it was that i reserved a small enclosed 4x8 trailer- then trailer not available. 5x8 not available within 150 miles. they DID have a 5x8 on the yard but that for "local" use only- i needed one way. only available was a 2000# 6x12 no idea when small avail. took 6x12 had to pull all extra weight 1400+ miles-- so used a LOT more fuel. no one else rents trailers so they get away. understand this time of year people get out of northeast not into so supply is not balanced.Dennis B.

Our contract included 24 blankets. The box arrived with none. When we called, the UHaul store said there was a â€œblanket shortageâ€ and that WE should call around to other UHauls to see if they had blankets. We were never told of this when the box was picked up. My husband had to drive all over the area to dig up three blankets at other locations. We had to use all our towels and tablecloths to protect our furniture. Unconscionable! A clear violation of our contract. I filed a complaint but never heard anything back. We should at least have received a partial refund. I will never recommend UHaul.Susan M.

My soin and I were ni the store ALONE for over 15 minutes! NOBODY was there inside or outside as we loked and yelled. He didn't have enough pads and only charged for what he had. Reservation made several days in advance! Man wasn't very plesant but was quick to get us moving. Vehicle was sent out with a cracked and roached out tire. I made it first destination and loaded the truck only to find out the tire blew out because it was in such bad shape. Took an hour and 45 minutes to get it repaired which caused me to be unable to load at second destination before dark came (second location was in a construction zone with no lighting yet). I had to drive an additional 25 miles in order to come back at 7 am to make the 24 drop off time. I feel like i should be compensated for the 25 additional miles due to an unsafe tire. I get flats happen but this was clearly a life safety issue which was not picked up during a maintenance check that should have been caught during your inspection.Timothy O.

We reserved a 26' truck. We got a call that morning that it was not back from the previous user. We were then given a 10' truck with a 5'x8' trailer. This was fine until we needed to move taller things that would not fit. We were told that we would get a call when the truck or a bigger truck showed up. We never did yet there were trucks back. When we went to return the smaller truck we were told we couldn't get a bigger truck until Wednesday (this was Saturday). We needed to be moved this weekend. We realize this was not the managers fault the truck was not back but we were also not reimbursed or given any sort of incentive for the inconvenience. We had to figure out another way to move these items which was not easy. I am very unhappy with how things were handled.matthew C.

Well I was charged just over $124 when I dropped off the truck. The nice gentlemen said I was good to go. Well I just checked my bank account and you are trying to charge me another $168!!!! I know for a fact there was no damage and a full tank of gas!Daniel D.
When I got there I was told my reservation was only for four hours when I clearly set it up for 8 hours the person at the desk was rude and told me I could take the van or leave it for someone else could use it and when I returned it and only had 10 miles used on the van he immediately said you're all set we have your credit card on file and when I asked him what he was charging me he said $80 when in fact I was only supposed to be charged for tea I told him to go check the mileage he came back aggravated and then charge me the 40 because I actually made him do his job this is the worst experience I've had a U-Haul and I've been a customer for over 20 yearsMike W.

First the phone call I received to confirm the uhaul I was renting was rude and unhelpful. She informed me of what was available (which wasn't what I wanted) and made it seem like â€œtake it or leave itâ€ so I settled for a much smaller truck. Not good customer service at all. Second, when I picked it up the guy working the counter was less than pleased to help me. It seemed like I was a bother to him. He would rather be back playing on his phone. He did come out and start the truck and scraped the ice from the windows, but never said he was done and that I could take the vehicle.Michael B.

This is not a reflection on the pick up location but of U-Haul in general. Maybe I missed it but it would be nice to know that a 2" ball is needed for towing a Uhaul trailer. I ended up having to purchase a new receiver and ball because the one I brought with me was too big. Also, thankfully the rental agent gave me a plug converter to use because I have a 7 wire plug on my truck and the trailer wiring is 4 plug. This info would be nice to know ahead of time.Gregory P.

Spent three hours with customer service getting a trailer reservation modified. Then I was asked to go an hour out of my area to get a trailer in Auburn and return it in Syracuse because UHaul had a customer the following day in Syracuse. Doing Uhaul a favor to get the trailer and I was charged $75 instead of $29.95. The Auburn employee could care less and reduced it to $48 but was otherwise unhelpful.Bryan B.

I understand the trucks and Vans are for work , however the lack of a USB port, a low end radio with no blue tooth, and lack of cruise control make the vehicles uncomfortable to drive. I only drove about 5 hours or so and felt very fatigued afterwards. I would say on long trips the vehicle would have been unbearable. I appreciate the $19.95 per day cost plus mileage, but I would be more than willing to spend more to have a little comfort. Also the van was very noisy, with little of no sound insulation.
