the equipment i ordered wasn't on the truck. there are multiple workers. it shouldn't be on me to inspect the truck when i pick it up. i just went over all the details with the man at the counter, that should be enough.

Pickup truck was clean enough but there were a few tiny discarded items from previous users, a plastic fork between the seats, push pins in the bed. Tell renters about button on dash for tailgate release. It took me awhile to find it.

Maybe match the mileage price to your website? Thought we would be paying .99 cents a mile and not 1.29 a mile, since the online rate said .99 cents. What's up with that? 😅

The only issue I had was with picking up the equipment using my phone. There were frequent "no network" issues, where I had to try again. It all worked out, but was somewhat frustrating. I had this happen before, so was sure to be on the store's wifi, and stand as close to the building as I could, to get better signal, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Not sure what you could do about that. Other than that, everything was great. The truck was surprisingly easy to drive, and the guy who was there when I returned it was really great.

1) Having an employee ready to assist a customer - i waited inside for 5-10 minutes while an employee was outside chatting with a friend 2) the first truck i was assigned completely reeked of cigarette smoke, and i had to ask for a second vehicle.

The truck smelled horrible. Full of the cigarette stench and I wanted to throw up the entire time. Got the smell all over me and my friend after the move. The cost ended up being way more than expected and I would have opted for other solutions if I had known better. The mileage charge was a lot. In the end it costed me nearly $100...

The reason I picked the 9 foot cargo van was because it was advertised as fitting a queen mattress. Unfortunately it didn't fit my queen mattress lying down or standing up which was a big bummer. The full sized mattress I moved instead just barely fit standing up so advertising it as fitting a queen sized mattress is not very honest

Get some customer service centered associates. I could have been killed or hurt someone else with the faulty equipment and how it was set up for me. The guy setting up the equipment was more concerned with who was there next then taking his time and assisting me. Check out the camera footage. It's there for a reason. He was looking all around except where he should be looking and clearly the dolly he was setting up was faulty. When I got to my destination, the straps had lodged behind my car's wheel. It was 1:30 in the morning and I couldn't get my car off the dolly. I had to walk home, thankfully it was only about 15 minutes or so.

Drove the truck to the pickup site and noticed check engine light on. Called location 2x waited on hold both times for over 15 minutes. Drove back to the site to be told to ignore warning light. On return the check in person did not have mask over his nose (indoors) while he checked us in.

The truck bed had snow that would have been nice if they swept it out. The cab was cleaned. There was an older man who wore a mask, but not over his nose, big no, no! Wait time was long, appeared to have only one employee taking care of customers, and this was at 4pm on a Saturday. Not a great impression.

Good experience. I wish they would have communicated a lil better with questions I had . I wanted to pay cash which was ok . When I went to pick up uhaul with cash they added another $100 because it wasn't on card . Next time it's better to know all the information up front . Other than that it was a nice job all way around . I picked up in Ithaca and returned to elite in Jamestown one day early

Had to wait in line quite a while, but service very good. My online reservation from the previous evening could not be found. That problem might have been mine, but I thought I'd completed the online form quite completely. A good experience overall despite these issues.

Masks were put on by staff seemingly reluctantly upon my entrance, though contractors fixing the restrooms had no visible masks at all. Truck wheel was very loudly squealing and check engine light was on at pickup. Truck was clean. At the end of our one scheduled rental day, outside circumstances prevented us from unloading, and a note was placed on our account to only charge the one day if returned by 8:15 the next morning. We did so, early, and were still charged for two days. Mistakes happen, but the communication wasn't there and when the staff member who checked us out was informed about the refund, he said “who put that note there?!” without even trying to find out why it was there. Then he begrudgingly completed the refund as he brooded and I had to double check that he was refunding me the correct amount because he wasn't communicating at all. His co-worker was helpful and nicer, though she also didn't put a mask on until I was already in the store. The guy who cleans the trucks was also super friendly. Overall, we got what we needed in the end, but it was a frustrating experience with that guy and I'm concerned about the lack of mask wearing by the staff.

The pictures that pop up on the agreement when you sign in were not accurate. The vehicle had multiple scratches and dings we were concerned we would get charged for. Perhaps updating those would be helpful. We had 0 issues however!

Our experience with the local (Ithaca) office was great. But the so called reservation system failed us terribly. The original pick up location turned out to be three and half hours away, which was absolutely ridiculous! And for u-Haul to even suggest that we pick up the reserved truck there should be fired. To find that out the day before our scheduled move created a crisis and as a result we will probably never reserve a u-Haul again, unless either my move is not important or I can see the truck when I need it. You should change your policy and not pretend there is a reservation system since this clearly doesn't work. Scheduling ("reserving") the truck weeks early just meant I had no opportunity to get a truck from a more reliable company.

I received a uhaul that I thought would work, ended up being to small so less then an hr of having it I had to return it for a bigger size. Instead of a A courtesy change I had to pay for not only one uhaul but two. I believe they should talk to there customers about the sizes especially if they don't know the sizes of the uhaul!! Very frustrating.

Rep was very pleasant and friendly. Check in online was NOT intuitive so had to go inside. Check in inside was still a little slow (not the fault of the rep). Return process was very easy and quick.

Waiting in line a long time even though I checked in online. If you check in online, you should have a separate line for those individuals to process their rentals.

The trailer had a lock on it, that either the previous user or the location installed. I didn't notice it until it was time to open the door to load the trailer. I didn't get a key from uHaul. Luckily, I was able to beat open the lock with a hammer. Also, there was only one person working there the morning I showed up. He not only had to answer phones, but take car of the local, in person rentals himself. Would be helpful if there was someone that could help him out.

Horrible customer service and wait times. Manager of Ithaca NY location was very nice though and helpful. Calling in for assistance or to make reservations was infuriating. HORRIBLE for moving ease.

Overall a good experience. The only detractor was having to wait while they loaded the uboxes onto trailers. I expected that they would be loaded up and ready for me to hook my vehicle up to.
