I booked a truck to be picked up at a location near the location of my move. I was called the night before and told the truck was located more than 10 miles across the City of Detroit from the location that I had reserved. So instead of walking to pick up the truck I needed to get a ride and reschedule my helpers due to that inconvenience. This is a totally inexcusable "bait-and-switch'. What gives Uhaul? It is ridiculous that your management can not honor a simple commitment to deliver a vehicle as agreed upon. I will book with you competition in the future even if they cost more. I refuse to support a company that does not fulfill their commitments.This is not reflection of the Madison Heights location. It is a criticism of corporate policy.

Trailer wiring was hanging down wheel fender was damaged and bendvery close to the tire. Trailer was difficult to detach. One way rental was too costly.

Great experience, very simple online entry. In store experience smooth. Upon return receiving staff member ask if and concerns with truck, having back ground in field just mentioned front suspension is loose.

I know its not in your control but grab hand handles in the front cab on the ceiling would be beneficial, because the van lacks suspension. It would make it a smoother ride when driving over bumpy road without a load

Uhaul should require full fuel tanks. I signed that the fuel was 3/4 full, but within a block, it had dropped to 5/8 tank. I am a retired auto electrical engineer, and fuel tanks are not accurate, except at "full".

Te after hour drop off procedure was much simpler when you could just out a copy of the contract into the drop box

Bay light did not work. Online return could not obtain location on Android phone using Edge browser. With the warning that there is a charge for returning the truck to a wrong location, the user should have been able to continue the return process without the location confirmation.

This locations smelled very strong of marijuana as soon as I walked in - the UHaul truck even smelled like it inside the cab. I also noticed the check engine light was on in the vehicle and came back in and the guys were very passive about the problem. They said it was something about an O2 sensor and it's fine...I know, know that this can be fixed or the light to be remedied. I had very little confidence in the place.

Everything overall was great! Online reservation was simple, pickup was easy, the associates were professional and helpful, and I didn't have to wait at all during pick up or drop off. My only feedback is before completing the reservation, it would have been helpful to have a heads up that more information would be needed when you check in online. I went to check in 15min before leaving and didn't realize I'd have to be answering car specification questions (per renting a trailer) and taking/uploading photos of my id. I would have much preferred to answer these questions as part of the reservation as I was stressing out about not being able to get my id to upload as I was trying to leave. Thanks again for the great service, will be back when we move in a couple weeks.

Again the struggled with the app! Would not allow us to take the final pics! Camera shows up but will not take a photo . Would not allow me to download a photo either. Was using goggle chrome. The app should be able to say choose a different browser ? Most do if it is not compatible . After over an hour in the dark parking lot. We finally got some advise to switch browsers. Wouldn't hurt to have the app say ... Not compatible with goggle chrome? Especially for us not so techno parents moving their children. Next time I will make sure to check in and out during business hours . Tried the 800 number for guidance with the app? But 8:00pm ? No answer. No where to find help trouble shooting the app ?

The only concern I have is the truck transmission didn't sound to good while driving when trying to accelerate to go after stopping at light.

I don't have to rent trucks or trailers often but when I do I go to the Madison Heights Michigan U-Haul location. It is a dedicated U-Haul location that always has the equipment I need. The staff are friendly. The only downside is this location is popular so sometimes there's a 5 to 10 minute wait to get your equipment.
