Was not dropped off here, but was sent here to pickup a replacement truck after 'the incident'. The truck provided had some chips already in the windshield and had only 1/16 of a tank left even though it was returned with '1/4' on the record. Staff was very friendly and helpful even if gas options were limited in the area with the extremely short range given the remaining fuel.Kevin K.

I beleave the guys name that helped me mark or mart something very similar to that. I wanted to take a few mins to make sure that I gave uhaul some feed back on the guy's performance in customer service. It was outstanding very respectful an helpful. Made my visit there very pleasant an quick. I know I need some air in my truck tires an he was quick to help me out by allowing me to fill them to ensure my safety as well as my family traveling with me. Returning the trailer I was glade to see he was there to help me check out. That is why I'm taking a few mins in hopes he get recognized for his performance at uhaul. I will be returning as I will need your services again at some point an will return to this location even though it in another thanks again for have such great customer service!Julian L.

Focus on the CUSTOMER!!!!! Here is my reasoning: I reserved a trailer to be picked up at 7:00 which is the time the business opens. I was there in my truck 10 minutes before 7:00 am. I waited in my truck because it was cold outside. Another customer showed up about 5 minutes later but decided to wait at the door knowing I was waiting in my truck. When the Manger opened the door at 6:57am the other customer pretty much ran to the counter and the manger told him that he would have to wait until 7 am before he could help him. I chimed in and said I been waiting longer and he ignored me. To me that is very poor Customer service. That location will no longer get anymore service from me.Steven J.

The girl with the half pink hair was rude and unprofessional.There was another girl in the office not sure if she was an employee but pink hair was slow and several customers were having to wait due to her being slow and unattentive. She didn't even go to the truck I rented to check the mileage or gas tank before finishing my contract.The mileage she quoted was 200 less than it read and half a tank less than she wrote in.I took a pic to prove it after I returned it. How is she employed at all!She was more concerned about the pit bull pups she was trying to sell in front of the business.Pathetic!KATHY T.

The transmission was going out on the truck. It almost shut off while I was driving it and kept struggling to shift. Fortunately I didn't do much driving in Merced.Karen L.
Weeks in advance, the online process kept indicating the trailer I wanted wasn't available, 4x6 trailer. Really? That's a popular size, I'm sure, and I saw it at my local store The phone rep didn't fully take care of my issues. Said I'd have to take a larger 5x8 but didn't delete my request for non-existent 4x6 so in-store was a bit confused at pickup. The reserve number was the same for both requests, and I had to call back days before to make sure my reservation was still in place.Manuel C.

My experience at the Merced location and u-haul in general has been very poor. 1. When I arrived, the counter person was exiting the office. No greeting was given nor was any indication made for their return to help. After a 10 minute wait, the person returned and after helping the previous customer, began helping me. It was clear that they were a new employee in need of training as I had to wait again for a mgr. to assist in data entry/rental agreement. Again I had to wait for mgr. as I was paying cash. Apparently the employees are not trusted with cash. 2. The trailer I rented had brakes that were jerky upon braking when empty. We discovered when I returned the trailer that a brake chain was not connected when the employee hooked it up to my truck. 3. After returning the trailer, I was advised that the mgr. had left for the day (2 PM) and my deposit couldn't be refunded since I paid cash and the mgr. needed to be there... 4. After over a week, I am now told that it takes 3-5 WEEKS to have my refund check mailed to me. A new meaning to snail mail. In total, I have spent 2 hours waiting on UHaul personnel for a 4 hour rental. If I can help it at all, I will never use their services in the future.Timothy A.

We reserved a trailer with a ramp. When we picked up the trailer, they did not have the trailer we reserved. And they did not have one that was nearby. So they ended up giving us a trailer with no ramp, in addition to, it did not have the light connection. Someone had to go and pick one up. The rep that was helping us was there by herself and was trying to help everyone. She did have a great demeanor and was trying to do her best with a smile. When we were coming back on the freeway at night, the trailer lights were not working. We had to turn on the hazard lights on the vehicle so that people knew we were towing a trailer. I also had movers that were waiting at least an hour or so. I have rented there before several times and had no issues. But this time was totally wrong. We didn't even get compensation for the inconvenience!Fernando D.

Girl at the counter wouldn't help me switch my reservation from a two day to one day although I only needed the truck for one day. I also left my cellphone at home and had walked to the facility so I did not have a secondary friends number in my memory I asked if she could help me and she had refused, stating it was "policy" she called the number I gave her and stated it was disconnected. I had to walk an extra hour and a half just to have the manager put my friends number in no questions and he did not check the number by calling it. Had to waste an hour walking for no reason and pay for two days when I only used the truck for one day. Her name was Megan and she was very unhelpful and rude after I had asked her for help. Once I got the truck the gas had been stolen out of the vehicle, I informed the manager and he was very helpful in switching the information on my order so I was reimbursed for the fuel remaining in the vehicle on my drop off. Manager was great, Megan sucks. She should not work at this location. She made my move much more difficult than it needed to be and cost me an extra 100 dollars for no reason. Give accurate information. Actually call the location and let them know roadside assistance is needed. Do something about all the stolen gas and batteries from the truck no one wants to have to put gas because the truck is on empty. I came into facility a week before and made reservations for the following Saturday received confirmation via text confirming my reservation and on the day I'm picking up my truck I was told there was no truck available because the day before they still hadn't received the truck that was reserved for me very unorganizedLiza E.
The truck and service was was excellent the part I was very unhappy about was returning the truck after hours which shouldn't have been a problem because they have a drop box for the keys. Very convenient I used it before except for today I return the truck on the app take the pic the Whole 9 yards the last thing to do is lock truck put keys in drop box but no drop box no Sign nothing so i calll one 800 number 58 to 60 minute wait on hold to talk to somebody to figure out what to do with the keys so lucky I was only on hold for 47 minutes before I talk to a U-Haul representative who had to call the store manager Who said the box I got ripped off the wall and had not got putting back up yet maybe the keys can be pushed between The locked double doors which they did not fit. So the other option was for me to keep the keys and bring them back in the morning so not only did I waste an hour on my Saturday evening I have to get up early my Sunday day off to take the keys back to U-Haul not a happy camperJohns K.
